    It's all fun and games until you discover the cost of the Ds. Breathtaking. :-)

      Yeah it's expensive but really it's not much more than the cost of a swarovski scope + the other tools you'd need. (and it's something of an all in one tool.. not ideal for everything but handy for the right person)

    I recently bought one of these and it is the most amazing piece of equipment i have ever had. Unreal glass quality and the ballistics are spot on after tweaking a lil bit. Which is really simple with the bluetooth capability to your phone. The one and only con is the FOV is a lil small compared to other comparable optics

    What about the vision clarity because i have Eliminator III but its not clear in low light that’s why I don’t like it anymore and not using anymore

      The clarity of the glass in this scope is in a class all its own, as with most Swarovski rifle scopes. The Eliminator is not comparable, in our opinion.

    Hows the clarity and glass quality of the DS compared to the kahles?

    • @Outdoorsmans
      @Outdoorsmans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glass quality is very similar between the two. They are both manufactured by the same company.

    @outdoorsman What tool did you use to tighten the Talley ds base to the rail?? Finger tighten ? Or is there a special tool to tighten to specs on a rail??

      Sorry for the wicked late response! We use a Wheeler torque driver.

    But the ballistics software is not adjustable, right? Is there a mechanism for truing the ballistics calculation?

    • @Outdoorsmans
      @Outdoorsmans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It absolutely is. It works the same as an analog rifle scope turret, except the scope does it for you. Once you enter your ballistics specs (muzzle velocity, barrel twist, bullet dimensions, etc.), the calculations are the same. The dS finds the range and adjusts according to the ballistics you've programmed.

    I just bought one it’s not taking into account wind.

      It’s not supposed to take wind into account unless I missed something

    Ok for 500Y, but for further distance it won't take into account coriolis, spin drift, etc and it's handicapped at 1,000Y for sure.....

      We shot a lot of steel at 700-1000 on this day. No issues whatsoever.

      Horizontal Coriolis & spin drift are the easiest thing ever to correct for. I’m at 53deg latitude in the N. hemisphere. To null out these effects i simply apply:
      - 1 click (¼ moa) left for 0-600yd
      - 2 clicks (½ moa) left for 600-800yd
      So, for my hunting rifles after I sight in zeroed, i just apply 1 click left then cap the windage turret. And that’s it…
      I don’t correct for vertical coriolis, I just ignore it… because… inside of 600yd the error will never exceed 1 click… and worrying about azimuth in a hunting scenario is lunacy! 🤪
      This DS scope is designed for hunting… for that application it should do just fine without coriolis correction.
      Coriolis appears to start becoming relevant enough to start producing misses on small targets at around 800-1000+ yds for most cartridges in my estimation, so way out of range to be a relevant factor for ethical hunting.
