Will, You have more common sense than 99% of every other person I have ever listened to. I am willing to work hard but have spent all my time like a dog chasing a rabbit, untill the next rabbit jumps up, eventually I am frustrated because of NO rabbit. All I ever wanted was instructions from someone that knows the real path. I have been dragged thru the music jungle for far to long now. TY for what you are doing. I see where this training would help voice training also.
You take so much time and effort to put together a true comprehensive video on whatever subject you are proposing. Most TH-cam videos are short and have a click bait tactic to them. Which is completely understandable. I However, can't thank you enough for putting out these long form videos that are meant to really help us with the instrument. Thank you sir, I absolutely appreciate this.
I just stumbled across your channel a few days ago, as I recently picked the guitar back up after a 12+ year hiatus, and never taking time for theory the first time around. I have to say - you are a spectacular teacher and are already among my favorite TH-camrs. You deserve several orders of magnitude more subs that you have, and you’ll get them if you just keep it up. Thank you for putting our long form videos (please don’t stop that), especially in the era of the fruit fly attention span.
You are to guitar teaching what Valentino Rossi is to motorcycling! But here's what I want to know - what's the deal with your Strat? It looks like it came out of the Gibson factory. I think I'd like one of those...
I've been playing for 40 something years but just recently I found you and now my training and my practicing is improving exponentially thanks to your coaching and your kind helpful videos which I appreciate very much I'm a new subscriber and I'll be checking in I've downloaded some of them so I can watch them over and over and over again. Thank you for all that you do for all of us
I love the way you think and aproach music.. I totally understand it... Very rational, methodic, deep.. wnating to understand, explaining complicated things in a simple way so people can understand. It´s fantastic.. I am so glad I just discoverd you...
Hi, Will. Thanks for the videos. Are you currently working on your third music theory book specifically written for guitarists, and do you know about when it will be released?
I'm glad I found this channel. I just bought your basic Music Theory Book and look forward to working through one aspect at a time. You've convinced me to take a look at your course. You seem to have everything organized and you explain things very clearly.
Thank you so much! I appreciate this :). If you are interested in my one-on-one course, don't hesitate to reach out, or you can book a slot over here: willmetzacademy.com/free-intro-call-booking. Looking forward to meeting you :)
This is an excellent lesson. Everything you’re talking about is 💯on point. Thanks for the encouragement and for putting things into true perspective 👍🎸
Hey Guillaume, Thank for this comprehensive and helpful lesson. Knowing these 7 categories/areas to work on really helps me to know what I need to work on to develop as a guitarist/musician. Will check out your books too. Only discovered your channel in the last week. Following you from Australia.
I pretty much know more music theory than i can play it at instant coz i had classical background.... Nd i can play by ear if its not too fast...on the other hand i cannot play fast licks by ear .. I have to slow down the audio..i have been playing for 8 years... But at the end of day i still feel missing lots of things........lyk on tone of my picking... sometimes i lyk hybrid picking sometimes i lyk to use fingerpicking nd sometimes faltpick... Is it ok to experiment all techniques.. or weather use only one techniques nd master it
So how much time, basic idea, will it take to cover all these subjects? How many hours each day, then learn and play songs. Would you do it all every day, or divide it up into 2 or 3 different days?
That depends on where you are at and where you want to go. If you're a beginner the more every day the better. That's the short answer. And I would make I cover all of those every week. If you are intermediate, then focus on your weaknesses and the compound exercises. Those are example but if you want a more detailed evaluation, I would have to meet you!!
I’m 66yrs and picked up the guitar a few months ago to have some fun I’m sorry , after spending $1700 on two instruments you just put a damper on what I thought I wanted to do
This channel is for people who want to be serious about the guitar. If the goal is just to mess around and strum some chords, or not worry too much about it, there are plenty of other educational channels that focus on that. Best of luck! :)

Lol, I’m one of those musicians that does “the weird foot thing”! 😂 That foots got a mind of it’s own.

Thanks for this insightful and very detailed training framework.👍
Thank you for the comprehensive breakdown. I purchased your two theory books on Amazon. Look forward to reading both

I’m a big fan of mastering at least one thing before exploring too many things at once
I tried to buy your book but Amazon has gien me the catch 22 for a while now. I gave up on Amazon years ago.
It’s on other plateformes too! Such as Barnes and Noble :)

What type of guitar is that? I see it's a fender, looks like a strat, but I haven't seen that type of strat before.
It’s called Parallel Universe. Love it so much
I am a junior but a want to play like me .

Just want to have fun learning I’m on the back side of my life things creep up on the elderly I’m frustrated shoulda not purchased my guitars
I woudn't give up! If you practice a bit every day you could easily be shocked by how much you cam play in one year.
BS! Keep your videos long and detailed. That's what's missing in so many others. The difference between a study and a passtime.
