I’m 15 and wanting to into flight school in the next couple years. I know the basics of controls and I’m not very good with talking to atc it sounds like another language, obviously the point of flight school is to teach you everything you need to know but I’m just wondering what to expect. My grades are not looking to good either which I will start to work on but I’m also wondering if you need really good grades to become a commercial pilot
You don’t need good grades for most careers and this includes aviation, unless you’re trynna be a fighter pilot. Nobody in the real world actually asks what your GPA is. They just care that you have a degree, and frankly nowdays even thats somewhat optional. And if you’re looking at careers in aviation outside of airlines then its DEFINITELY optional. Now im not saying dont get a degree, its a great thing to be able to fall back on, just trynna illustrate my point that your grades don’t matter as much as you think. If you wanna get your toes wet and maybe get ahead with training a bit, go read the PHAK and the AFH! Edit: AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH + DONT GET DIAGNOSED WITH OR ACCEPT ANY MEDICATION FOR ANY MENTAL ILLNESS.
