Sigma by Martin DM-3, most likely from the late 80’s. Laminate mahogany back and sides and most likely a laminate spruce top. Great aged tone for the money.
Great sounding guitars, but the couple I have come across have both been near the point of needing a neck reset. I think these are cool because they are older, but the late 70’s early 80’s ones are better made.
I have handled a few of both. Some Sigmas I like better, and some Alvarez’s I like more. I think it’s the 2nd Gen Sigmas that really stand out. I like the late 70’s to early 80’s Alvarez. The early 70’s script logo ones do not seem as well made to me.
Thanks. Why do I need lessons? To obtain a certain level of playing that you think is needed to play a demo of a guitar? I took lessons in 1998, and have been learning ever since. Not trying to show skill here, just strumming and jamming random stuff.

Yes and the late 70’s to mid 80’s were their prime in quality in my opinion.
I have a Sigma DM5-S (MIJ) from 1973-74 and really love it. It has the Sigma logo (∑).

I have a MIJ sigma se 36. It's a great acoustic! I can't find any info in it anywhere though...
