Nkrumah might be the greatest transformational leader in Africa,however his significant mistake that ended his presidency was his reckless decision to expend resources meant for building infrastructures across his newly independent country to spur future economic growth in an unwarranted war for total liberation of Africa. Through agitations and intense struggles ghana gained independence in 1957, so why Nkrumah had to expend resources meant for building infrastructures in his newly independent country in an unwarranted war for total liberation of Africa? I describe Nkrumah war for total liberation of Africa as unwarranted because it’s my conviction that if an impasse can be reasonably resolved through a dialogue why go for war?
Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism but rather official corruption and bad governance, which started from Nkrumah’s regime in ghana, and absence of technology to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented Africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems,especially bad governance now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant. So the focus must be on good governance in individual Africa countries now before long lasting africa union can be realized.
I believe if the youth listen to him and model his character, then we can attain political hygiene. He always delivers knowledge and advice in all his speeches, just like this one.
