That's a good choach, giving alot of energy, knowledge.. and keeps a very positive attitude. Also again, a very nice episode Sweat Elite.. keep em coming.
I like this guy (well the runner AND his coach) they seem like cool guys. Never heard of them before, but they're knowledgeable. I like their chill attitudes yet it's all about the work
I'm a hobby jogger and I'm scared from running on roads (specially with heavy and or fast traffic). But it's so much nicer to not have to avoid pedestrians, dogs and random stuff on the sidewalk.
Can someone explain to me the point of breaking it up? Into two sessions within the same day. As well as them being so similar. I understand it’s a high volume but why do 10 miles of threshold like that. When you can do 4by a mile or 8 miles at threshold fartlaek style so On/Off . Or Then some speed intervals the next morning. This is a ligit question btw because I’m no pro coach or anything.
Also threshold training seems to be the most effective. Especially for distance running. Getting double the volume in, in one day. Also allows you to recover a lot for the next day / workout. Since threshold isn’t too intense on the body
Also allows for a recover day instead of making the next day a speed session get it all done in one day but split. Similar to how Salazar would have his athletes do a session after a meet. So the next day can be recovery
@@drewcash1785 that makes sense yeah. it’s not bad workout but any means. just confuses me that you can achieve this is so many other ways that seem like better options to me.
@@blastedpotato Depends on the marathon runner in question tbh; Kipchoge wr run of 2:01:39 was at an average sub 4:40 mile for 26.2 miles. Harvey was doing 4:55'ish for a 2 mile tempo
Why’d no one tell me my shirt looks like a potato sack?
Your shirt looks like a potato sack
I got you
We all just assumed it was a knock-off version of a fancy race singlet? #potatosponsor
@@jeffthomas912 it's Nike Running Division, wouldn't call it fancy, but certainly not the cheapest

What kind of sunglasses you rocking?
I think I will legit run full marathon after binge watching sweat elite videos.

Amazing content, thank you.
Love doing double threshold sessions in a day.
it seems like coaches love recovery slides (hoka, oofos) or the nike invincible
Hi sweat elite you doing great job🎖️😍
Nice one couch watching you guys from down town african, you guys doing a great job over there, thanks for the motivation
still waiting for galen rupp
Will be waiting a while
He's very private in his training apprently
@@NeillyVille I just want to listen to coach Smith talk i could care less about Galen :p
I doubt we'll see that. Galen is not someone who lets the public into his training.
Awesome workouts, love it.
I like this coach
Hard work
It seems so easy doesn`t it. So I did the exact same: Only difference was my 1km time: 4.30

You could run on a track
@@davidwatched935 i do run at some dinky track on occasion. but prefer parks and low traffic streets.
Nice

I think its to teach the body how to recover quicker and break up the volume so its not so taxing doing one big workout.

anyone know the shoes he's running in?
before double threshold became popular
Is he running marathon pace or a bit faster?
Faster. Threshold is about half marathon pace

Why do James McKirdy and Mike Smith talk almost exactly the same (weird) way?

He was using Nike next percent 2’s
