My lips to God's ears, this is a true story. Eight years ago my husband opened a pharmacy for Walmart in a town south of us Grandview. Since he was apprx. 2 hours away we bought a travel trailer for him to live in while he worked there. I was home alone, had taken a nap with my chihuahua and woke up, noticed our brand new tree from Lowes looked funky and my cockatiels were on serious alert. Out from the tree jumped an honest to goodness SQUIRREL. I thought, how am I going to get this guy out of the house? I ran and closed all interior doors except for the game room which he ran straight to and climbed everything he could. I thought about calling the PD but at the time I volunteered as an auxiliary officer and thought I'll never live this down. So I opened our 3 outside doors and finally he ran out. I told my husband if we did not get a nice chimney cover ASAP, I was divorcing him, lol. We'd had several squirrel and bird incidents. I got my chimney cover and we just celebrated 50 years together. That was the year I was Home Alone and experiencing A Christmas Vacation. xoxTXDeb
I live in western Canada. We used to get fresh cut Christmas trees every year. One year my daughter came running into our bedroom late at night. Our big orange tabby cat had found a live bat in the Christmas tree we had just put up earlier that day. It was quite the zoo with 2 dogs and 3 cats my husband and daughter trying to deal with this poor confused brown bat. Eventually we put it in a shoe box out in the garage to go free. We now have a bat ornament on the Christmas tree every year as a reminder of that crazy night.
Michelle, I had to make a confession and another comment. I am an older woman in bad health and I don’t sleep well. So, this morning when I watched your video I kept falling in and out of sleep. So, I came back just now and watched it again I was shocked at what all I had missed. The whole front off your home is decked out not only the beautiful porch but the huge beautiful lighted wreaths, a train, candy canes, and I am sure other great items I didn’t say. Beautiful and so much work!!!! ❤😊🎄🦌🔔🎅
OH MY GOODNESS!! Your Christmas closet reminds me of is the clown car that should only fit a few clowns but tons of them keep filing out of it!! That must be a huge closet!! Love your decorating and your commentary. You're one of my favorite youtube channels.

Never thought I could but you must have been the push I was waiting for when I saw your free TH-cam advise. Plus all my kids friends have been telling me to do something so I am going to take the plunge. Thank you and thank you for the Griswolds Christmas this is my family to a tee. My dad in our old childhood house every Christmas has to fix the sewer as it always got blocked and us kids would yell out the window that famous line of course! Always gives us a laugh and we watch it religiously every year more than once. I always joke if there was a musical I could be in it with no script and probably recite everyone’s lines. Merry Christmas keep up the amazing videos just loving them only wish we had access to more of these amazing decorations. I was just in NYC and picked up items at Walmart, Ross, Hobby Lobby, Marshalls and wish I could have bought back so much more. 🎄 🎅 🤶 ❤
Hi Michelle, I’ve used Christmas tree hooks as my wire for the last few years. That’s how I attach beaded garland and ribbons. I also bend the hooks around the tree branches so they don’t fall off. My Lowe’s tree, you can’t bend the branches for your ribbons and things at all, so this works for me. It is a pain, but works.
I go through phases with lights. For many years only used multicolored lights and had a friend tease me about my "tacky circus lights' (but I'm tacky soooo) so the next year switched to all white. Found it a little boring for my tacky self but used white for a few years, switched to all blue, back to multi, now white again, lol. Hubby lets me know he prefers the white, never knew he paid attention. Your decor is always fantastic, thank you for sharing.
Your house looks beautiful. I would have never put the red and white lights together but after seeing this combo I will do this next year to my wreaths. I use white lights only but love how yours looks. 🎄☃️

Your house turned out amazing. That Polar Express train on the lawn is a showstopper. My Griswold moment was when a few years ago, after hours of hanging up my Christmas lights outside on a very cold day, half of them didn’t work. And if that wasn’t bad enough turned out that my neighbours, unbeknownst to me, were watching me from inside their homes so they got to witness my embarrassing moment. I only found out that they were watching me when they took it upon themselves to ask me why I was hanging up my lights again.🙈Needless to say that from now on the first thing I do is check the lights. Lesson learned. 😂

We put a Garland over our Garage Arch Stucco Wall.we had to pit Command Hook put Super Glue in it leave it for a day / Overnight put as much Command hook get a wire to tie it so forbthe next yeit will be easy to hang.
I am doing a grinch bathroom this year. First time I'm doing one and I obviously started getting decor too late. I had to make my own grinchy things because everything is sold out. I'm still on the look out! Your bathroom turned out so cute!

National Lampoon is my absolute favorite😂 My Griswold moment was last year pulled out my tree found out it was home for stink buggies thank God we noticed the box before we brought it into the house. I love the colored lights but the white does look elegant to me. My husband wants to go with some green grinch lights this year for the oitside.
It’s been about 47 years ago. I bought a fresh cut tree, drilled holes in the bottom and set it in a bucket outside until we were ready to put it up. A couple days later my mom and one of her friends took the tree in and decorated it. Mama bent downtown to plug the lights in and something stuck its tongue out at her. Her friend went and got a towel, and being the tall lady she was,took the towel in both hands and went whoosh, whoosh several times and thought she had caught it. She went outside and shook the towel believing she had got rid of the little varmit. They finish the tree and stand back to admire it. There on the angel was the lizard. This time they drug the entire tree, decorations and all, outside and shook and stomped on some of the limbs until they saw the lizard jump off. When I got home from work and saw this scrawny Christmas tree, with broken limbs and some limbs stripped of all needles, I asked what had happened. When I heard their story, I laughed hysterically. My thought was: what did the neighbors and people driving by think when they saw 2 women stomping on a Christmas tree. That’s the tree I will never forget, and one they will never live down. 😂
