Hi Courtney! I am seeing a lot of reviews online saying that the pink top rebranded gel is not as great as the blue top even though the bottles show very similar ingredients. Since many of us have come to trust your honest reviews, I was wondering if you might be willing to try the pink top for comparison and let us know your thoughts. Thanks so much for all of the time you put into this channel!
When searching the Biolage home page, they claim the blue capped #3 gelee was repackaged into the pink with the same formula. They also claim that testing the product against other gels prompted them to change the hold to a level 2 instead of a 3. However, If you read all of the most recent negative reviews on their page, many long term blue cap users are claiming it is NOT the same. I would love for you to try out the new pink capped version and give us your thoughts. I was going to run out and buy some, but now I’m not so sure…
Have you ever done a flexi rod tutorial? That would be cool to see how your hair turns out. You're always so upbeat and positive. Thank you for being you. 😊
Oh my goodness I think this may be the best or almost the best one brand wash day ever! Your hair turned out incredible and the results lasted to day 2! Woohoo that was clearly a WIN!
Their mousse is awesome too, if anyone likes mousse products. Used biolage gel or mousse on all ranges of my curly clients for years. Worked well on all curl patterns ❤
I think this wash day result is even better than the kinky curly custard one. You and your hair are both so pretty. Love your channel and thank you for all that you do. Blessings from the United Kingdom. X
Before I was curly I washed my hair everyday and yes I often used sulfates and most if not all my conditioners had silicone. Even though I also colored my hair regularly, my hair was in great shape. It was thick and shiny and well conditioned. Not just my opinion b/c my stylist used to rave about how good my hair was. I love Biolage products. The Biolage HydraSource Mask has always been one of my favorites. And I love the scent of those products.
I’ve been using the Biolage Matrix Conditioning Balm for a couple of years now. I read through the Science-y Hair Blog on low porosity, coarse hair, and the ingredients in this product tick all the boxes. I highly recommend. I read there is a cheaper dupe at Sally’s but I’m in Canada where it’s not available.
OMGoodness. I’m not in all the way and this was what I used on my hair from around 15 to late 20’s. I would experiment with other brands but my favorite line up was Biolage alternating with Paul Mitchell. I used the hydro source shampoo though. I ditched all of it for CGM “approved”. I’ve actually been using PM again and loving my results! Old school for the win! Your curls sprung up. It’s a cult classic gel for good reason. ❤❤❤
Holy Crap Courtney!! Those are some of the best curls I've seen on you AND they basically start all the way up at the root. That's incredible and I'm here for it. I might just have to try that stuff lol. My hair is very similar to yours in every way except mine is super dark brown and my scalp is more on the dry side. But my strands are fine, medium density, and medium/low porosity.
I actually don't like curls starting at the roots. I find it looks more messy. I keep my hair much longer, but I want the roots to sit flat. Well not falt, they can have volume, but not curl.
@@madsquishy3410 I think I might like the curly roots if my curls were sitting better. I'm getting a lot of frizz on top still, as I don't want to use a lot of products as it's feeling greasy. So my hack is to smooth it down.
Drug Emporium! Oh how I miss that store! We had that had what felt like a never ending wall of hair products, it was a favorite place for me in my youth. Memories!
Biolage gelee was the very 1st gel I ever tried that I actually liked. It's still a staple in my line up of products, in fact I just used it on my last wash day! I used it with AG's re:coil which is a great combo.
Thank you Courtney for all your time and work. Me and my hair thank you:) love watching your videos. You have such a beautiful soul and cheerful spirit:)
My absolute favorite shampoo is the biolage volume one. It has salacidic acid for my oily scalp, and the smell 😊. Love love love the smell. I will have to try the conditioner for sure. Your day 2!
The only place I can find the Matrix Biolage Blue Agave Gelee in the white and blue bottle is E-Bay which makes me think that this product is no longer available and what one would get on E-Bay would be old discontinued product.
I don’t have time right now to watch the full video, but wanted to comment and say this is PERFECT timing. I’ve been struggling with my CGM shampoos and have been ready to just give up on finding a new shampoo and switching back to biolage (after about a year of trying). And it’s just the encouragement that I need to see you have a good washday with the product that I have been missing so much. 😊
Just read through the ingredients for the one with the pink cap and everything is exactly the same except the pink one contains lactic Acid as the last ingredient. I can't seem to find the blue capped one anywhere.
Hi! Wow, love the result so much! I've been using biolage as my curly brand but following you. I'm delighted you did this. I used their other gelee, the all purpose medium hold with the pink lid, but that caused frizz for me. So i usually layer Biolage foaming mousse and top it with a little Rock Hard , but I'm going to get the styler you used and try it! Excellent wash day SO beautiful! Thanks!
I have worn my hair curly since the early '90s. I lucked out with a curly stylist back in the early '00s, and have been using this Gelee since then. I have tried ALL THE GELS since 2019, but I keep coming back to this one! ❤
I love Biolage for shampoos and conditioners! I was thinking of trying the new scalp shampoo for wash days. Maybe you could try that next ;) how are you feeling with products like this that don’t have protein? Your day 2 held up pretty well!
I need to try these i have only used the Biolage Color last Shampoo and conditioner I've been wanting to try this shampoo and the Ultra Hydra source line and this gel il definitely have to try this brand again see how my curls like it
It’s hard to not Squeeze too much products when they put them in squeezy tubes like that I feel like any shampoo or conditioner that I have that comes in a squeezy tube I always use way too much
Hi Courtney! On the Gelee packaging, yours says hold level 3. On the new one, it says 2. Is it the same formula? I used Biolage for soooo many years! I might be tempted to try again! Your hair looks great!
I think it is the same formula from what I can tell. I don't know why they changed the "hold level" on the packaging though. Maybe just a branding thing.
Biotera used to be a dupe for Biolage but they just mimic the scent now. Biotera has completely different ingredients now and are pretty heavy on the oils in every formula. If you like heavier formula they may work for you.
Thank you for this video. I'm going to give it a try. QUESTION Do you have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome? Just asking because your scalp gets really red when you do these videos. Redding of the skin when lightly scratched is a symptom of MCAS.
Biolage no longer makes that shampoo. They have a Scalp Sync Clarifying Shampoo. May be similar. The gel is now named Gelee Styler. Probably the same. I love Biolage shampoos but am hard pressed to find a conditioner without isopropyl alcohol (which my hair hates) that also contains a silicone(which my hair loves). Biolage fragrance is by far the best.
Hi Courtney. I loved the video! CVS has the blue one and I got it today not knowing about this video lol. I almost bought the pink one from Amazon. Ulta reviews people were saying they hated the pink one is level 2 and people didn’t like it.

It is so incredibly satisfying to see your beautiful, defined curls at the end of the process
Thank you!
What porosity your hair have
@@Ghsjidhdb my hair is extremely high porosity. I think I may have finally found a system that actually works for my hair.
Do matrix next! Their curl line is so good! Love the gel and the deep conditioner
Great ideas! I loved Biolage back in the day. Thanks Court.❤
Their mousse is awesome too, if anyone likes mousse products. Used biolage gel or mousse on all ranges of my curly clients for years. Worked well on all curl patterns ❤
I used to use Biolage years ago when i wore my hair straight. There is a deep conditioner in a tub that was awesome ❤️
The fragrances are so addictive

Love the Matrix dandruff shampoo. I noticed it made my curls tighter higher up too! And I didn’t even use matching conditioner.

For only using an overnight pinapple, that's a great day 2. 😊
Wow, thank you!
I’ll have to remember to buy these when back in stock
Would be interested in seeing you try the Innersense foam sometime 😊
Thanks for reminding me about their gelee- used to love it many years ago. ❤

Did you micro plop or plop? How long did you plop?
I regular plopped for roughly 15 minutes and then I micro plopped right before diffusing!
I used Matrix brand shampoo and conditioner for years. Was so cool to see these products. Really like the length your hair is.
Thanks so much!!
Now you can empty your cubbard and go back to biolage...😅
