I’ve never done any renovation project but im motivated to try it out. This gave me a lot more confidence about the flooring, seems simple enough. I’ll dig deeper into the nitty gritty of it but this helped me envision it, so thanks!
Does anyone know how long a project like this would take? I'm looking at a 120 sq foot nursery and I'm wondering if I could get this done in a weekend...or two...and if I'll need help.
@@KaraLynnJack scrape the floor , eliminate any high spots. you can use patch which is a powder that you mix with water that hardens like concrete. , skim the entire floor to level it
Hi, can you please tell me what tools you used for when you were cutting the planks to fit around the door frame and floor vents? Looks like an interchangeable type of hand tool? I'm a total beginner wanting to do this and Idk what all I need to buy or rent.
It's a foam pad you put underneath. I think it's to help keep the temperature in, kind of like a floor insulation. Go to Lowe's, Hope Depot, or any other flooring place around you and ask for help and they can explain what all you need and why. 🙂
What tools were used in this video? Could someone share some info? I am planning to do this kind of flooring change an would love to know what tools will be needed. Thanks ahead of time to any that reply with info.
@@TheTwigglet I'm mildly handy and did my entire basement - came out great. Skill required is low. All physcial labor so hope you're good kneeling down/standing up a lot. First, from any flooring store or Home Depot/Lowes you can get an LVP install kit. That will include a rubber mallet, prybar, and tab block. These are the three tools you'll use to make sure each piece is "tapped" into place as tight as possible and won't separate later. To cut the pieces, all you need is a saw - I used a Miter saw, quick and easy for cutting length. I used a small table saw if I had cut width. That was it. It's pure physical labor. Snaps together like magic. If your installation carries through a doorway, you'll have to decide if you just want to cut to a threshold or "flow" through which can be more difficult. Oh, and the sawzell or job tool he had to cut moldings is a dream and will also help cut tinier cuts into the LVP when necessary - like when you're installing up against a door molding and you just need a little notch or something. It's awesome. Take your time but once you get your first line down, it's super easy.
@@mwindeler thanks a lot! I managed to get it all done and although my 34 year old knees need replacing now, I got though it and it came out really nice 👌

You cant and should not glue. There is no need at all to do that. Its been years and everything is still okay. This is how to install these types of flooring. We also did in another house - luxury vinyl planks and its pretty much the same process to install. and never ever - any glue necessary. In the manufacturers instructions it even warns you about Not using glue
People who know how to do this stuff are never broke.
Or they just watched this short video
actually yes my father claims he is broke and does flooring, roofing, walls, bathrooms ect.
onedianeysy tell him to lay off the booze and smokes and maybe he won’t be complaining about having no money

Just wondering how it went, I want to do this to my upstairs and was wondering if it worked well for you
Here with the same question! 🙋🏽♂️
Supremely helpful video, edited well (quick, to the point). Effective, and awesome. Thank you for putting this together!
Seems simple but I’m sure I’ll fuck it up when I’ll try my hands on and call someone to fix 😂😂
The crock game is strong in this video!
Pausing 30 seconds in to say I love that you're wearing crocs lol okay continue cause I gotta replace my living room lol
👍🏻
U guys did it the hard way! Respect nice job
How long did it take to do one room? Removing carpets and putting in the bee floors?
The whole day I would say
Great video! Would you be able to list the tools that you are using?
Larry B you’re the best
He’s using an oscillating multi tool to notch bottom of the door jam
I’m about to do this myself!
you got this. with the right tools, it’s easy
I decided today - if I don’t try to do it how will I ever know that I CAN!!!
Tools and how much for a room like that? great video, short and no talking, awesome
Thanks for the video! And great job !
What is the purpose of white sheet placed underneath the flooring? Thank you!
It's an underlay, it provides a barrier between the laminate and concrete slab so moisture doesn't get through.
Do you leave space to account for when the floor expands?
I don't think he did!
Nice, short video, easy to understand
Beautiful job!
So u don't glue or use something to keep the laminate wood to the floor?
no, never. no need for glue , it snaps in
Does anyone know how long a project like this would take? I'm looking at a 120 sq foot nursery and I'm wondering if I could get this done in a weekend...or two...and if I'll need help.
an entire day if its your first time. 2 days if the room is not square or rectangle
Awesome job.
Do you need to make sure the entire floor is level 1st before laying the laminet?
Nasser K well...that's too much work 🤣
What do you do if it's not!
@@KaraLynnJack scrape the floor , eliminate any high spots. you can use patch which is a powder that you mix with water that hardens like concrete. , skim the entire floor to level it
@@raymondmaglaris4149 ok thank you! I haven't started THAT project yet, but good to know for when I do!☺
I thought it might be easy, but this looks more complicated than I thought 😂
overall its easy
I work making laminate flooring. I still say carpet is the best way to go.
I guess for people who have spring allergies it would be a problem or if you have pets
I love carpet but our pets have ruined it unfortunately
Why??

here, it’s one of the tools I’ve used most: www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-2-2a-multi-crafter-kit-0548251p.html#srp
i call it a sonic crafter or oscillating multitool
Whats the White thing you put under it

underlayment, the package said
its kind of like a moisture barrier
Wouldn't using a table saw be easier and straighter then a jigsaw?
not at all
They are replacing our old nasty carpet in our shared living building with laminate,,can hardly wait
beauiful
i can save money on removing the carpet !
Amazing
What type of saw was he using at 1:02?
its called an oscillating multi tool
I told my husband that we need to remove the Carey, at least 1 room at a time
Carey?
MANNN it's harder than i thought... I can't do it alone after all :(
not hard at all. you got this
What issues did you run into? I want to do my own floors but scared
so what if the floor underneath is garbage?..........
than you have a lot of work to do. and it will cost a little more since you need to take out the plywood and install new one
Question: do we need to apply glue on each laminate stick? How do they stay intact ? That part is Missing in the video
No glue. The boards click into place and stay put.
that’s right , no glue necessary at all. they click in place
plus the baseboards hold it down
@@DoitDoit what kind of boards are they?
why u have not used nailer for butting or fixing laminates...i seen that nailer in some other videos
Call at (800) 588-2300
I guess I’ll have to hire someone 😂
it's easy. but the prep work does take time
I been wanting do mg hallway but il so so scared
you got this. its easy. the prep work and details are the "hard" part
I wish I can do this but I suck. I'm not a handyman at all.
