2009. Bolt had that car crash that took him out for three weeks. Without that he goes 18.9.

I didn't know that! That would also upset your rhythm and if you had momentum going up to that point it would be disturbed! WOW. That's an amazing fact.

Respect to ASAFA fi say this cauz....
Di World know without a doubt that both records could have been lower had BOLT just ran all out.
Even more so for the 100m.
Well put, with all humbleness and love for your field.

Bolt couldve ran faster than his 9.58 100m too. he was so good that he didnt really have to train his butt off to win or break WRs. its hard to put in the work beyond what's needed to earn the big $. His first ever competitive 100m he ran 10.03 then didnt run it again for a year. the following year he laid down a 10.03 again, followed by a 9.76 then a 9.72...then a few weks later he cruised to a 9.69...he also ran a 9.77 INTO A STIFF HEADWIND 2 weeks after his 9.69..turn that wind around and he was already in low 9.6x territory in 2008.. he already knew no one could touch him.
so he gave the world a 9.58 then really just cruised the rest of his career. a few weeks of training here and there but he never really put it in for months on end like the rest of the pros. he was still snacking on chicken mcnuggets and partying at night even when he ran his WRs.. so yeah he couldve gone sub 19 in the 200m for similar reasons...and probably a 9.50 100..

Nobody is beating Usain Bolt's 100- or 200-meter WR. Those times are not normal, you have to be special in all areas of sprinting and conditioning.

It is possible with technology. Think of things that were illegal that became legal. Some of these drugs that are not legal now may become legal just so they can break Usain Bolt record. We see the corruption in the world.

I made that comment on the 19.19 run, near the end of the run his fitness level appeared to weaken, i felt if he had higher fitness that sub 19.00 would be possible.

We all know if Mr.Bolt could have run faster if he focus on the finish line are something a lil beyond ..the time it took to look left n right n pump your chest ..like come on 100m bolt could’ve run 9:50 -200m 19:00

Asafa Powell should have ran 200m when he was competing i think it would help him in the 100m. His main rivals Bolt, Gay, Blake, and Gatlin all ran 200m throughout their carrers and they had great success in both events the last 30m Asafa would tighten up under pressure he lacked speed endurance and top end speed.
