Lovely pipe. I bought a Savinelli Clark's favourite for myself for Christmas. Had a nice bowl of University Flake in it on Christmas night.
    Merry Christmas to you.

In my opinion we could tell you some taste characteristics but it would be best if you obtain the individual varietals and smoke them individually. Purchase one ounce of each and you will understand quite quickly what each tobacco tastes like for you. If you smoke commercially made blends it takes quite awhile to pull apart the different flavors of the different tobaccos. I hope you will try my advice and let me know what you taste.😎and yes I blend my own and love it!

Nice looking pipe. There are so many different blends and possible flavors pipe smoking is a fun journey. I smoke a ton of Kentucky and never had a pine flavor. But I'd imagine it's possible the latakia/oriental to do that. I love a good babble. I'm known for it myself. Merry Christmas brother

Merry Christmas. Very nice pipe that was gifted to you by your wife. I like Latakia blends but I went overboard with them for a while. Yes, Latakia smells like a woodsy campfire or smoky peat as you described. I can’t say that Latakia smells like a fresh pine tree but it can certainly smells like a burning pine log. Actually a lovely aroma. My current daily favorite is Royal Yacht.

the pine tree note might be Maryland Tobacco, I notice that in a few English blends

I’m curious what you would think of Peterson’s Nightcap. It is one of my favorites after dinner in autumn and winter. Beautiful pipe! Maybe I’ll suggest this as a tradition to my wife 🤔

I enjoy Latakia it is smoke cured tobacco and while they do use oak and pine wood in the smoking process, I’ve never had any pine note. It is used in many blends and a little goes a long way - it definitely has a unique aroma. I’m not expert in blending tobacco, but I do know I like it if the proportions are correct - nice pipe, I was given a new Savinelli as well yesterday and enjoyed smoking it today - Cheers 🍻

Beautiful pipe. I just gifted one of those to my buddy at his wedding. He loves it.
Maybe try Kentucky or latakia without any Orientals. I really like solani silver Flake for some VaKentucky and sam gawith bothy Flake for a VaLatakia

    Congratulations for your new pipe!
I really like latakia, although I don't smoke it frequently... I like to smoke it when I want something different (I usually smoke Kentucky tobacco cigars...). I hope you keep on this new experience, happy smokes and merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
I love that pipe… in fact I’ve been meaning to get one of those 614’s. I can’t smoke now because of oral surgery but it’s nice to take a break once in a while, at least that’s what I tell myself. I was shocked when I first tried an English blend, it was totally foreign too me. It makes sense you would get a burning pine smell since they cure the Latakia over a smoldering fire of evergreen type plants. I get a medicinal smell from Latakia. Thanks for the videos.

Definitely gonna ghost Your Pipe, Latakia that is. Maybe you now have a dedicated pipe. I have pipes dedicated to blends with Latakia. Happy smokes!
