    Eating disorders are not exclusive to higher socioeconomic status...they are rampant among women of all levels. I personally find it very compelling and interesting when any housewive shares about struggling with an eating disorder, as these struggles are more common than not. I disagree that not many can relate as I would argue that almost every woman has had an eating disorded thought at least a few times in their lives.

      When most people are talking about the high cost of groceries and feeding their family on top of the child care being more expensive and then ever it is hard to relate. I see what they are saying

    • @lauravanelli9942
      @lauravanelli9942 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      i see what they are saying, but i also it's highly irresponsible to frame it in this way. As someone who has suffered from an eating disorder, it isn't a disease of luxury. I had to skip ahead because even those slight comments can be triggering to someone who has fought to keep themselves alive through recovery.

    • @michelleg9610
      @michelleg9610 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      I agree. I was mind blown when I heard Heather saying this. Eating disorders are mental illness. They are a subset of a form of OCD and it is absolutely not exclusive to wealthy women. That’s insane. Jackie Goldschneider actually had one of the best housewife books I’ve ever read and it was entirely about her eating disorder

    I think Carlos King is the only guest that doesn't constantly get interrupted by Heather. She still interrupted, but when he gave his insight on RHOSLC, she actually listened and was very intrigued by his perspective. One of the best interviews you have ever had Heather. ❤

    As an RN , I can not begin to imagine questioning someone in such an aggressive way regarding their personal health history. I would only give my opinion if the person themselves asked me for information. And even then I would refer them back to their Dr. And NEVER ON TV WOULD I DISCUSS THIS!!!! Very unprofessional.

    Anne Marie isn’t unlikable because of her race- BELIEVE ME. I didn’t like how she came into the show like a firecracker, calling Sutton a liar without speaking to Sutton’s doctor first before making those accusations. That was it for me. I just thought- who does she think she is?!

    • @GoGetterNeverQuitter
      @GoGetterNeverQuitter 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Everyone loves firecrackers. It’s her yapping about Sutton’s esophagus that was annoying. Like girl drop it. That what made her unlikeable.

    • @judymurray191
      @judymurray191 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea that was too much, but she couldn’t talk to Sutton’s doctor. That would be unethical! My doctor said I have a tight throat, which I never heard of, and I have a hard time swallowing sometimes so I thought Sutton’s issue could be a similar thing.

    Curious if Heather has watched all seasons of VPR...Lala has always been a bully. She was horrible to Rachel (the most timid cast memeber) from day one, while hooking up with James behind the scenes (which she admitted to). Season 10 and now 11 Heather is acting like Lala is the voice of reason???? Such BS.

    Kim should def not be on the housewives right now. This isn’t a movie this is a couple breaking down in a terrible way. From domestic issues, gambling, and mental health problems. People like that should not be on a show and around other people( it’s not safe for the rest of the housewives) and need to get help and healing. We should not normalize wanting to watch people’s lives collapsing.

    I was anorexic as a teenager and I am a 58 now and I agree with some of your assessment
    But for me it was based on such crippling insecurity and wanted to physically disappear. Just to clarify though, anorexic don't always throw up and/or take laxatives. I agree on these shows, anorexia could be seen as rich privilege

    • @orianjuarez3074

      Bulimia is overeating the then self induced vomiting. As you know some anorexic-bulemic ppl utilize laxatives to empty the intestine. You're doing well, right? Have a great day.☺️❤️

    • @laurieann2714
      @laurieann2714 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @orianjuarez3074 yes there is ki d of a spillover when it comes to EDs. The laxative part can affect ypu intestinal motility and the vomiting can cause esophageal scarring and ruin your teeth. A lot of times dentists diagnose bulimia because they notice mouth sores and decayed enamel. Yes, I am healthy thank you. Although there qere very few resources available when I was anorexic, my parents had fou d an amazing therapist who saved my life. Have a great say too

    Heather you have got to watch what you say about eating disorders. They are not primarily experienced by wealthy women. Generation after generation experienced diet culture and as a result we have a whole population who doesn’t know how to eat to nourish their body. It’s a VERY relatable storyline on housewives and Jackie Goldschneider’s book was incredible. The reason the eating disorder topic keeps coming up as a storyline on housewives is because it is so common and so prevalent. You need education on this because what you’re saying is really dismissive.

    • @ciaraward2114

      I completely agree, I am a huge fan, but Heather always handle’s this topic so badly and doesn’t seem to bear in mind that a lot of her listeners may well be in recovery and this ignorant approach is very triggering. It has nothing to do with wealth at all. It’s a mental health issue at its core. I am in recovery and this attitude horrifies me.

    I made it to 14:28 in this video and had to turn it off. Sorry Carlos, blaming Ariana for taking any and all opportunities presented to her after Tom cheated and making it seem like she’s wrong for that?! No…

    From the very beginning, I have felt no real sympathy for Arianna - she’s not the first woman to get cheated on, nor will she be the last… Carlos King is so right that she has been making this “scandal” work in her favor… Tom Sandoval is a Latino man. Being a Latina myself, I get it bcuz I have two brothers… Ariana should’ve gotten a clue when she decided to start dating a Latino man… they all cheat, but there is a rarity of those that do not, but for the most part they all do! 🤷🏻‍♀️ great interview with Carlos King 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

      Huh! So she should be okay with being cheated on and humiliated because “Latino men cheat?” Are you okay?

    Just adding Anorexia Nervosa is a mental illness. I have known 1 person who had it, my neighbor. She was lower income, and would go away for months at a time to treatment centers that her parents put her in. Her life wasn’t normal. She couldn’t work and couldn’t function. I remember one day we were passing eachother on the stairs and I was like “Hey haven’t seen you hope you’re doing ok” and then she opened up and admitted she had AN. She was very aware and kind but tortured, it was sad. She was always tall and lanky but after she told me I could see the malnourishment. I was always kind to her and secretly rooted for her and before I moved she seemed to be doing ok, and looked healthier. I still think of her and I hope she’s healthy and has a somewhat normal life now. She fought everyday to be “normal” despite what her mind told her.

      I think what was meant to be said is that in SOME cases it is but obviously not all whatsoever. People die constantly from the struggles of eating disorders and their whole lives are what seems like under mind control of a very evil demon. Others may copy the behaviors to lose weight fast and/or garner more attention and care more about their looks than their health as seen by the copious amounts of reality stars using osempic that were never overweight in the first place despite side effects. I took it as a form of that statement just not stated clearly or carefully just quickly spit out as many juicy takes are on this pod which we all enjoy and are here for. Unfortunately there may be some foolish things we all say when we are just talking without thinking too much and may not have had the time or self awareness to reconcile in the moment.
