Yes, twinflames are real and rare. I am in my twinflame journey. All your points about twinflames are right.
I would like to add some:
1. Mostly they are not born in same religion or culture.
2. They are long distant relationships, outside state or country.
3. Large age gaps between flames irrespective of gender.
4. Mostly one or both would be already married or in a relationship.
So there challenge is unlike normal human beings they cannot simply leave their marriages (unless they have a toxic partner)or children and go after their twinflame. They are Souls who have taken a purpose during incarnation and the coming of union of twinflames would be for higher cause like clearing ancestral wounds, healing, transcending from all egoistic limited beliefs of the society. For to come to Unions both twinflame have to do some inner work ( which is awakening, chakra healing and oneness) and their union is byproduct of their patience, trusting in divine, and the art of Letting go.
The two souls when split taken predominant polar opposite energies each of masculine and feminine ( like Shiva-Sakthi) and their major challenge would be to find harmony and balance of both the masculine and feminine energies in them individually, so they are telling the world they are whole on their own (individually) though they have taken Yin or Yang energy and they help the planet to heal. “வேதத்தை விட்ட அறம் இல்லை”(வேதச் சிறப்பு முதல் பாடல்)
*அந்தணர் ஒழுக்கத்தில், “காயத்ரி...பரம மந்திரம்” (Gāyathri Matram of Rig Veda)என்றும் “நால் வேதத் திருநெறி” என்றும் சிறப்பிக்கிறார்.
*வேதச் சிறப்பு மற்றும் ஆகமச் சிறப்பு பாடியுள்ளார்.
*There are several similarities between Patanjali Yoga Sastharas and Thirumoolar ThiruManthram.
*size of Aathma,which is quoted by Thirumoolar,has its origin in Upanishad.

**Rudra Pashupathy Nayanar,who attains moksha just by reciting Sri Rudram of YajurVeda
[On Even reciting Sri Rudram Only once in ones lifetime is enough to attain moksha,said by Yajnavalkya in Jabala Upanishad of Shukla Yajur Veda as “ஶதருத்ரியேணேத்யேதான் ஏவ ஹவா அம்ருதஸ்ய(Deathless, moksha) நாமானி”
**Soomaasi maran-A Nayanar, contemporary of Sundarar, who invoke several yāgās including Sooma Yagama and got the title “Somayaji”,which is called in Tamizh as SOOMAASI MARAN.
