I think this EP is a great example of a person who wants to rebuild their relationship with God again, they know they should be burning, they know something is missing and so they’re making a step forth to seek God again. Raw, real emotions with everyday struggles of the heart. Psalm 139 really resonates with this, being in this pit, this shadow, lukewarm, however, acknowledging this and seeking God for help, remembering His good work, all the blessings and seeking His light again. 💗

But it's not all just emotions, but a true encounter with God and the desire to be with Him always. Thank you for providing that through your music. Also, thanks for Patient & Kind, which was my most listened to song on Spotify for 2023. It is a constant reminder of God's attributes that generate gratitude for, and worship of, Him.
I didn't know Jonathan Ogden until years later. I started out as a Rivers and Robots fan back in like 2013-14ish... The R&R songs are always nostalgic for me as I think back in that season of my life 2014-2018 ish when I was in bible college. So to hear a new set of songs with that vibe and a new vibe is TOO RAD. Back in bible college, I was steeped in doctrine. And that's why R&R was really attractive to me. Some of those older R&R songs had MASSIVE doctrine in songs. Love them still... And to compare those older River & Robots songs that were just deep in doctrine and then to hear these prayer-type songs, causes me to reflect on my growth over the years and to see how much my spiritual life has grown and matured. I can't speak for J. Ogden, but I can speak for myself: That these types of songs on this album are much more personally relevant today than they might've been a decade ago as I've matured in the faith. I probably would have avoided this album back in the day when I was only in awe of doctrine. And now, a decade later I'm just desiring a pure and simple heart of love for the Lord and for others - desiring only that my faith and doctrine leads to love and good works. Jonathan, this album for me brought me to a place where I meditated upon my spiritual growth over the years, which included many highs and lows. When music can cause you to reflect in hopes to learn how to become that better person, it's unexplainable. THANK YOU for your music through the seasons and this past decade. Wow. ‘Take Me Back’ is so rich with captivating authenticity. I love the layering and depth of soul that draws the listener in…it’s really stunning. What an absolute breath of fresh air in a world full of pretty empty things!
Though this is not a Christmas ep it's setting me up for a moody, spirit-filled Christmas. I won't be celebrating with family, but this will keep me good company :)

Jonathan, I must say, these songs are amazing. You and your friends have aced these. They sound very mature, there's great depth here, the mixing is awesome and the musicianship comes across readily. It does sound like a very coherent product. As much as i love your solo projects such as the seasons, i am enjoying other musicians all playing together to bring to us this sonic candy. The best thing about it all is your writing, its consistent, still as grounded in the word as usual and Christ-focussed. May you never lose sight of our Lord. As you say in the description, some songs feels like previous works with R&R but also it remind me the old songs from your previous EPs like the season serie, "take me back" song and "remind me" has too similar vibes and the some same words in the lyrics, you are a wonderful producer of music, as your personal work as your teamwork you make good and inspiring songs for worship the lord, this ep let me guess what is in my heart and what do i want to say to the lord, thats very special for me, from a worshiper to a worshiper thank you.
This EP helped me grieve the loss of Mom in August 2023. I listened to patient and kind on repeat after my moms funeral. It brought comfort to my heart 🤍

I've been going through a rough patch in my relationship with God recently and I've been talking with my family and friends about my struggles, but it has been difficult for me to open up to them cause they see me as a mature Christian and I don't want to let anyone down, most especially God... Hearing this ep just made me feel heard, understood... the message of each song was very profound, it really helped me process this difficult season I'm in.
