100% agree. The problem is that some nice, empty lots are monitored, and you'll get ticketed for just goofing off in an industrial lot. Obviously, there are cops on the streets as well, but there are fewer and fewer places that you can really do this shit safely without potential law issues as race tracks and autocross lots keep getting shut down. I'm not trying to make excuses for this behavior, by any means. I think it was clean, but ultimately super dangerous and stupid to do that move on an active public (and residential?) road.

The point of doing this is because unlike you, some people ARE capable of doing this on or off a track and fun fact, this type of shit is way easier to do on the streets than a track. Most tracks aren’t built for drifting. They’re built to test your driving skill so sliding isn’t really a good idea on the track *most times*. On the street, the “track” is a grid and if you look at how a grid is designed, it’s easy to see why that would be more fun and easy to slide around on than a track that has tons of back and forth curves, sharp angles and turns and a bunch of inconsistencies. The real point of doing this though is to prove to yourself that you can, to have fun, and in this case to show the internet that he can and did.

Point here is no matter what the dude was doing, if it was right or not, the truck driver was unaware of traffic on the road he was turning to from a stop sign. It has happened to me many times turning like that and having a guy speeding almost crashing on me that would seem like it's my fault while he wasn't visible at that time cause he showed up like a rocket out of nowhere, but i've learnt to check the road for whatever crap is going on till the car turns straight.
@@swaziithegreat it depends on the situation, for example in Europe you have steep roads in cities with 30kph traffic, if let's say you get out of a stop sign on a clear road with 50 meters visibility and a car is doing 80kph coming out of the curve out of nowhere crashing on you, you can't say you weren't aware of your surroundings or that you violated the stop sign, but it will seem like it.

However, the actual fault is on the truck for pulling out. I will say. You kept that going for way too long. The hotter those tires got, the riskier that became. Having fun is good. Showing off can be dangerous. There's a point where this crosses that line. It doesn't change the fact that the truck shouldn't have pulled out. But do consider that if you slam into someone's car showing off, you could permanently alter the course of their life without even knowing it. How many people have been fired, or missed doctors appointments etc, becaue of things like this? Having fun is fine. You threw your car around where it was relatively safe. That's fine. But then you kept going. And then you kept going some more. An okayish example of how to do thsee things relatively safely I'd say is Hoon Garage. He actively chooses locations where this will not be a problem. But the true example is Tedward. As soon as risk to other increases, his hoonage decreases. A true gentleman behind the wheel lol. These are just some things to consider next time you want to drive like an idiot. Point here is no matter what the dude was doing, if it was right or not, the truck driver was unaware of traffic on the road he was turning to from a stop sign.
It has happened to me many times turning like that and having a guy speeding almost crashing on me that would seem like it's my fault while he wasn't visible at that time cause he showed up like a rocket out of nowhere, but i've learnt to check the road for whatever crap is going on till the car turns straight.
Regardless, that’s what you should be doing. If a car “wasn’t visible at the time” it’s because you weren’t aware of your surroundings.
@@swaziithegreat it depends on the situation, for example in Europe you have steep roads in cities with 30kph traffic, if let's say you get out of a stop sign on a clear road with 50 meters visibility and a car is doing 80kph coming out of the curve out of nowhere crashing on you, you can't say you weren't aware of your surroundings or that you violated the stop sign, but it will seem like it.

Look. He wasn't harming anyone. The truck pulled out when he shouldn't have. Yeah, in court, he would have been found at fault for sure. Especially since he recorded himself breaking the law. However, the actual fault is on the truck for pulling out.
I will say. You kept that going for way too long. The hotter those tires got, the riskier that became. Having fun is good. Showing off can be dangerous. There's a point where this crosses that line. It doesn't change the fact that the truck shouldn't have pulled out. But do consider that if you slam into someone's car showing off, you could permanently alter the course of their life without even knowing it. How many people have been fired, or missed doctors appointments etc, becaue of things like this? Having fun is fine. You threw your car around where it was relatively safe. That's fine. But then you kept going. And then you kept going some more.
An okayish example of how to do thsee things relatively safely I'd say is Hoon Garage. He actively chooses locations where this will not be a problem.
But the true example is Tedward. As soon as risk to other increases, his hoonage decreases. A true gentleman behind the wheel lol.
These are just some things to consider next time you want to drive like an idiot. We all do, whether we'll admit it or even reaize it or not, just take better care next time and be more mindful of others. Advice from a lifelong professional driver of all sorts.
