couple reasons
1: you know what belongs in your house. so if you see something that doesnt belong you know you need to book it
2: because knowing what it looks like is what makes it dangerous the more you see the more at risk (you increase your risk going for a drive round the block than staying inside.) also it can cause a chain reaction since if someone sees you running from it they too have now seen it.
