I think the thing I like about NATION is that it might’ve been like what Kanye was seemingly trying to do with Yandhi where it would’ve been a opposite/sister album to Yeezus. I imagine NATION would’ve been a more up beat album than DAMN and would’ve had rivaling themes. (Like how some of the tracks on DAMN were named after Sins, tracks on NATION could’ve been named after Virtues.)
that could be cool, but DAMN. already had internal themes of duality with both sins and virtues (LOVE/LUST, HUMBLE/PRIDE, etc.)

Man, all the unreleased bangers we will never get to hear from so many artists. That's what sucks about most scrapped media especially with the stuff we my get in return nowadays. Sometimes the scrapped stuff is just better but ends up fading into obscurity or never existing. Guess it's just fate though. It's the timeline and series of events we get.

Honestly it'd be cool if Kendrick and Dre loosened up a bit and dropped their own versions of "Lost Tapes" we would enjoy it and not try to compare them to a polished album.
The J Cole and Kendrick could be released as an EP/Mixtape sort of like the T-Wayne joint
hot take: most of Kendrick's unreleased music gets released by Baby Keem. Before that, I think he was responsible for most of Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock's albums. TDE was basically a cast of different artists for Kendrick to release music under. When the artists available no longer matched the new music he was creating, he left TDE and started PgLang with Keem.
Stop disrespecting other artists like that. TDE is a cast of amazing artists. Baby keem is his own artist with one of the greatest rappers as a mentor.

Easily spent 2k to go see this man as a bucket list item. Been a fan for over a decade since I was a teenager and now that I have a stable job with good cash flow this was my first big purchase. I heard so much about how he treats his fans (not refunding vinyls that ship months late and are shattered) but I guess I chalked it up to having a bad team. After this, I truly feel he resents his fans. Whether it’s because of fame, anxiety, etc he resents us. Doesn’t resent the money we earn him though
If you listen to his last album. He pretty much says he resents himself and has been going through therapy for those resentment issues.

I’m a bit curious about most of his mixtapes before Overly Dedicated and that had been floating around up to his GKMC days. Most of his mixtapes besides OD and Untitled Unmastered are rarely talked about, besides C4 for its “Bitch, I’m In The Club”, which is apparently considered his worst song by many people.
He apparently has one called “Compton State Of Mind”, but I’ve only seen it get brought up twice. I think someone uploaded the whole thing to TH-cam.
But, with all of this talk about Kendrick being super popular, a perfectionist, and “the best to ever do it”, you’d think more people would be talking about these projects. Are they really just that bad that people decided to forget about most of it?
