This was the exact breakdown I wanted. Very well done. I'm slow when it comes to hip hop, so K-Dot's albums always take time to hit me. Tv Off and Luther kept me coming back. Same shit happened with good kid (backseat freestyle), tpab (alright, king kunta), damn (DNA, Love), and Mr.Morale (the heart part 5). Then I listened to the rest of the album and started to love it like I do the rest of the albums I listed.
Mr.Morale is Kendrick Lamar GNX is Kdot If you been a fan for a while then you know the difference between the names and styles they bring. You also cant compare the 2 albums they have completely different meanings and concepts. The only thing they have in common is they both tell a story.
💯🎯🎯🎯 He told us on the 1st song, (Wacced Out Murals,) that GNX was written for us to feel it ("f*ck a double entendre, I want y'all to feel this shyt")... He wanted us to know that we're supposed to just enjoy the album instead of having to dissect the lyrics like we have in the past
As someone from the Bay Area, I can say that we love the fact that Dot embraces the Bay! He even had the legendary E-40 as his host for his pop out concert. The Bay and LA are two different worlds. But Cali stands harder and taller everytime we unite! 🫡
He dropped an album that can’t be matched or touched. He threw his jabs and used word play while still representing the west coast !! He represented Compton Excelente!!!
16:52 He really called out James and Fuhad. He didn’t say “don’t disrespect”, he said “don’t let nobody talk about”. He’s really saying that people like Andrew are going to Andrew, but James and Fuhad should have come to the rescue of Black women, which they too have acknowledged.
Why should they step up on negative character traits black women actually display? Black women really need to do better and no about of coddling or “you’re not allowed to criticize” will change that.
@@PrivateDrviolence from anyone is wrong. That’s not an exclusive ethnic trait. Nothing's more appealing to me than an artist completely passionate about their craft. I listen to many music genres, in many different languages and from veeery different people. The sonic and creative shift from what we are used to from Kendrick’s albums reminds me of when Earl Sweatshirt released Some Rap Songs. That sound became his new baseline which turned a lot of people off his music, but also solidified Earl as a legend for many others. GNX is definitely not as experimental as SRS because it has a heavy West Coast foundation, but it feels like Kendrick’s version of that. It’s strange, hilarious, brilliant and hard af

I’m just glad Kendrick is finally getting the respect he deserves. I feel like for years, people have underestimated him, and always talked about what he couldn’t do, instead of everything he’s done. Kendrick’s time is now.
@ Drake clearly underestimated Kendrick. He’s been sneak dissing Kendrick for years, asking for the Boogie Man to come out. Once Kendrick finally responded, he absolutely destroyed Drake. Drake really thought the public would be on his side, just like always. Drake thought he would be #1 on the charts, just like always, but he underestimated Kendrick. Every single one of Kendrick’s diss tracks were number 1 on the charts. Not Like Us was even #1 in Canada. 😂. Not 1 of Drake disses ever hit #1.
Kendrick has been nice since c4 and overly dedicated. Anyone who been a fan since then has known this. It’s just the pretentious annoying ass Kendrick fans that make me not want to say it out loud.
I WANT NAS TO COME OUT WITH MAN IN THE GARDEN AT THE SUPERBOWL!!!
if they collab on one mic that would be crazyyy
😂 he deserve it aaaaaalll. That would be crazy
Not gonna lie, I love One Mic so much, I had a hard time accepting Man In The Garden.
He definitely will
That'd be amazing since Nas was a real one reaching out to Ken after the news❤️
Mr.Morale is Kendrick Lamar
GNX is Kdot
If you been a fan for a while then you know the difference between the names and styles they bring. You also cant compare the 2 albums they have completely different meanings and concepts. The only thing they have in common is they both tell a story.
What story does GNX tell
🎯
💯🎯🎯🎯 He told us on the 1st song, (Wacced Out Murals,) that GNX was written for us to feel it ("f*ck a double entendre, I want y'all to feel this shyt")... He wanted us to know that we're supposed to just enjoy the album instead of having to dissect the lyrics like we have in the past
thats kendricks duality of being a gemini u get that wild and ignorant attitude then you get a whole lot of sense and wisdom from the other side
Both personalities and Different showing of Kdot and Kendrick Lamar.
As someone from the Bay Area, I can say that we love the fact that Dot embraces the Bay! He even had the legendary E-40 as his host for his pop out concert. The Bay and LA are two different worlds. But Cali stands harder and taller everytime we unite! 🫡

Exactly. The men failed to step up as men.
Why should they step up on negative character traits black women actually display? Black women really need to do better and no about of coddling or “you’re not allowed to criticize” will change that.
Precisely. I saw this exactly the same way. He was talking to black men when he said that.

Nothing's more appealing to me than an artist completely passionate about their craft. I listen to many music genres, in many different languages and from veeery different people. However, passion is still that extra spice that sets one apart from the rest. I'm glad this year made me open my eyes about Kendrick. "hey what condiment do you want on your burger kendrick?" "MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!"
The sonic and creative shift from what we are used to from Kendrick’s albums reminds me of when Earl Sweatshirt released Some Rap Songs. That sound became his new baseline which turned a lot of people off his music, but also solidified Earl as a legend for many others.
