    Your videos on structural functionalism, social conflict, & symbolic interactions has taught me more than my professor did! So grateful to have found a clearer explanation of these theories! The book provides a confusing explanation making it difficult to understand! Thanks Mr.Sinn! I am prepared for my midterms in just 2 days!

    Looking now at mcdonalds and the past my image of it has changed so much. Of course for many it was a fun exciting place as a kid, then a cheap meal as a teenager than i can go to with friends, and even going in after highschool the same. To it being fatty unhealthy business that bad for you. Now after living and traveling outside of the use for more than 8 years all over the world. Now i see mcdonalds like a home and comfort place. I definetly had my experience visiting the local life style, but after while travel so much the inconsistenty tends to drain you and having the golden arch everywhere around the world really brought a sense of comfort. I cant express how thank full i am. I think anyone from any country can feel that way too because it is everywhere that beauty. I say that because in the end My opinion is all the above, but now I just accept that symbols are allowed to change depending on location feeling and time in life.

    Doesn't the McDonalds theory apply more to functionalism than symbolic interactionism?

    • @MrSinn
      @MrSinn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It would depend on how you look at it. When talking about how people perceive McDonalds it is going to be symbolic interactionism. The reason why is each of us will perceive McDonalds differently, because we all have different experiences that are guiding our thoughts. These views we have on McDonalds will also change over time as we experience new things.

    • @jennyM-ov9iv
      @jennyM-ov9iv 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, because functionalism indicates how society has a specific job and role and works together. Mc Donalds does not help society move forward. It is more of an unnecessary luxury.
