I love the eyeshadow palette! I actually like the idea of that black shade blending out to a gray with a slight sheen. This palette reminds me of a Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow palette I wore way back in the late 90’s. I’m 45 now, so I appreciate the softer nature of the Chanel formulas on these more mature lids!
Your reaction when you put on the Golden Beige lippie! Priceless! It really does look a little "I Robot". Not crazy about the collection in general. So glad you demo'd it!

That roaring purple looks good on you! And the eye palette looks really pretty. I do prefer if there’s at least one matte, but like you said, looks like you can get away with all shimmer since it’s so subtle. You have such a good handle on what would work well & look beautiful on mature/textured skin. Would you ever do a video of your top recommended product in each category for mature skin, cheeks, eyes and lips?
So glad you reviewed this. I’m probably just going to skip Chanel this time even though I never miss a collection, and buy all the Suqqu holiday. Don’t love the plum lipstick. I’ll stick with my Rouge Noir instead if I want a dark purple red. The gold lip is too warm for most people I think. The highlighters just will be aging I think. I’m so frustrated because I expect more from Chanel formulas given the tech now and they just don’t meet expectations for price.
I love the Fancy Prune lipstick on you. Wow! I feel like it actually makes your eyes pop.
Remember Chanel’s philosophy is “less is more”. It will never be PM, ND, or CT. I’ve seen this palette on several people and the look is very pretty. Keep up the good work! The look is pretty on you!

Hi Sofia! I went to my local boutique today and was able to test the makeup. I love the eyeshadow palette and highlighter! The SA put a Chanel balm on my cheeks first and then applied the highlighter and it looked beautiful. I also loved that le extrait purple lip color on me but passes for now. I did NOT like the golden beige laquer and literally said “ewww” when I applied it on my lips, so I was laughing out loud when you made that face into the camera after trying it on 😂. Thanks for the review, I always enjoy them 😊
Your eye look is chic and dreamy. Beautiful! Honestly, you can rock any eye look because you have an unbelievably perfect eye shape. I like this look in particular because of the way you used so many shades and did a soft blend.

I actually like the golden beige with the right makeup, not with heavy coverage but a little lighter application. I’m not into the other colors on the lips. The eyeshadows I think is beautiful. I don’t think I would have liked the black if it was so deep. This is more wearable. The highlighter I don’t think it would work for me but looks nice on you.
The palette is beautiful, but I think between the last holiday Pat quint, the Guerlain Imperial Moon, Soft Cashmere, and the YSL holiday quad I’d love to get can get close enough.

I think the collection is elegant and the eyeshadow palette stunning! Will pick that up for sure. As for the lip products, I can dupe them from my collection. I have a metallic Rouge Allure Ink that is similar to the Laque you tried on; it looks better on me when worn over another lipstick shade. Beautiful. I'm undecided about the highlighter, leaning towards a pass. Appreciate your thoroughness with the comparisons!

I bought the 798 Beige Rose & mauve blush, because I saw it in your video and happened to come across it in our Chanel counter at a department store, which was a very expensive adhoc purchase but so worth it and I had a -20% loyalty customer cupon to use, so it made the purchase a bit easier. And now as someone who wasn't a Chanel makeup fan before, I have been liking the blush so much, I'm now thinking about buying the highlighter from this Christmas collection. 🙈😅

I love the eye look you have created, I’m going to go pull out a couple of palettes with similar colour stories and have a go at replicating it (thinking ND Glam, ABH Sultry, UD Naked 2, CT Super Nudes, heck Morphe have promoting a 35 pan palette with a colour scheme that matches this quint). I think the one and done shade you started with would look great with that plum lip lacquer.

Thank you for your honesty. I love the "I gouged into my highlighter for you guys...for science...with my nail." I am not so sure this collection has anything for me. Maybe the nail collection. The Shadow colors are so dupable. I did order the Dior Backstage Silver Essentials Eye Palette. I cannot wait to get it.

I have Dior Black bow, for that holiday eyes, in the old and lovely dior formula. I don't think i need it yet. Dior has a matte and a shiny black. And they are so lovely

Thank you for helping me be the discerning lady I hope to be. I think I’m still getting the eye palette, but I appreciate knowing what I’m getting. The metallic lips are doing TOO much, haha! At least for me. I actually have 2 metallic lippies in that liquid formula, and they are awesome. Much softer. One is pretty beige, but applied sheer I love the soft sheen it leaves on my lips. I imagine they would be incredible as a whole look, with maybe just some mascara and model face. I’m in bed my 930, so that person isn’t me. Same with the highlighter. Thank you for saving me from any regrets!
Such a great review Sofia! Thank you for all the comparisons to palettes a lot of us already own. I think the Byredo shimmering lipsticks had better colors than the Chanel Rouge lacques. This collection is too shimmery & icy for my preference, so I’ll likely pass. It reminds me of the holiday Chanel No 5 eyeshadow I got that I hardly use…it’s just too shimmery. Omg your face when you put on golden beige! 😂 I’m saving my money for holiday SUQQU, Guerlain and the new Danessa Myricks Lightwork V palette. Thank you for all your thorough and upbeat content. I will definitely be getting the eyeshadow palette. I was interested in the highlighter as well but I like my powder highlighters to be soft in application, no glitter or shimmer. I like a lot the one from La Bouche Rouge La Lumiere, was hoping this one to be the same but you say it otherwise. Let’s see! The embossing on the palettes is really beautiful though, I loved it at first sight. Thanks a lot for in depth comparisons. Though was hoping you’d compare it to Chantecaille’s Pinto and ND’s new midi nude palette. x

Thanks to you, I will skip the highlighter and probably the palette too as I have all of the other Chanel and Dior palettes you compared this to and they are definitely too close to justify to purchase this one. I will probably have a look at the lip products though as I love the formula of l’extrait and the lip laques but the metallic vibe of the laques may be too much. Let’s see. Always appreciate your honesty and array of comparisons. I love CHANEL, but this collection is a pass for me. For anyone who can wear the colour "Fancy Prune", I think it looks really beautiful and at least a little special in terms of holiday. I have a feeling the nail polish (the black sparkly one) is going to be a sellout for sure. 💜

What you said about golden beige makes sense. It might look good on top of a darker lipstick or if you blank out your lips with a bit of foundation first. You are lucky that your lips are so full and have such a great natural pigment. Mine are the colour of nothing. The only benefit to that is that in most cases lipsticks will look exactly what the shade appears to be in the bullet on me. So it's pretty easy to buy without swatching.
Hi Sofia: Thank you for investing in this new collection to review it. I agree that the metallic gold lippy does not suit you. The rest of the collection is gorgeous on you. I am disappointed with Chanel following the non-luxury mainstream trend toward the inclusion of glitter in every palette and every highlighter. Thank you for all the comparisons with other palettes and highlighters.

At first I thought you didn’t remove your lipstick before you applied Chanel lipsticks! I didn’t realize you have a rosey tone natural lip color. You probably don’t even need to wear lipstick! Lol thank you for sharing that.

I appreciate all the effort you put in to your content 🥰 hmmm, yeah, those metallic lipsticks do have a tendency to make the lips look like fancy prunes 😂 I think the embossing, aesthetic, and roaring 20's theme of the collection is very appealing, but I agree that it isn't really that special after seeing you try everything on. I may pick up the eye palette though!

Love this collection. If I can share a little tip for the highlighter. What I have learnt from pro MUA is to use a beauty blender over the highlighter and it blends like a dream. ❤

I love the HIGHLIGHTER perfect for holiday love the look and whole theme behind collection, i don't associate camelia flower with holiday at all, it's more le blanc spring thinkgeek for me personally.i do hear a lot from american youtubers asking for special packaging, channel is not going to do it chanel is elegant, sophisticated chanel is not tacky and cheap looking as pat mcgrath, hourglass or other cheap looking brands. chanel is attracting people they have a few lipsticks or even 1 signature lipstick ant not box of lipsticks you'll never wear(generally speaking)
i wish people not appreciating chanel for who they are and spend money on other things and stop criticizing
Can’t lie, I love a vampy metallic lip in the winter. Pair it with heavy mascara and eyeliner and I’m good to go. I grew up in the 90’s so frosted lips are perfectly normal to me 🤷🏻♀️

Hi Sofia, so good job Chanel, for saving my money 😳😜🤪 absolutely not interested in any at all. Have one from Dior, from last year or the year before🤔, and Chanel No5 , going to wear for holidays, with a nice red lip. Speaking of the lip, those metallics absolutely no, that would work, for some very editorial look. I picked up Chantacaille lip crystal, and that one, really wearable, for Holidays, and beyond… I actually better get another refill or two, for the $$$ lipstick. Speaking about those Chanel lipsticks, which i got in shades 1 and 2 . Definitely getting, the most iconic, shade 12. But which one of red ones, you think could be more warm undertone? I was thinking maybe Rouge Flou? Please advise, if you can. Thank you and have a blessed day🙏❤️

The highlighter looks good because it didn't set into a hard line. People will have to be careful that they set their foundation down enough so that the highligter doesn't stick in place.
I ordered Fancy Prune and that black nail color before I saw this. Got the gold nail color too. I'm older, but I'm going to love that metallic lip. I skipped the eye palette and highlighter. I really like the palette. But I have both of Natasha's midi nude palettes, and it's hard to justify $88 for the eye shadow. What do you think?💚
Yay, I'm glad to see this surprise holiday release! I think the liquid lip formula would be better in colors that aren't so metallic and frosty. Especially with Fancy prune, the way it sets somewhat unevenly combined with the reflection makes it look patchy. That said, I can kind of see Golden Beige working on a tanned skin tone with the metallic eyeshadows for a reflective, holiday, party look! Ultimately, I'm going to pass on this entire collection. I have all of these colors a million times over, and as you pointed out, this isn't that groundbreaking of a release.
