    When I was younger my mom bought me a bubble bar on a stick in the shape of a wand and she waved it around in our bathtub. She would say a ' magic spell ' to make the water pink, too.

  • @BritTity

    A HUGE money saving tip for Toner Water lovers!! I work for Lush & a cool fact is that when you use the Toner Tabs (Tea tree & Dream Steam) after the water isn't steaming anymore, cool it all the way & then it's technically the toner water that we sell in the bottles. Just pour it in the spray bottle & sprits away! And the Tabs are only $1.50 & $2.50 (Instead of paying $20 for the actual water)

    • @user-lz6ko8wj5u
      @user-lz6ko8wj5u 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      What are the the Toner tabs and what do they do? X

    • @DA-oe9xd
      @DA-oe9xd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The water from the toner tab will be a lot less concentrated though. That selfmade toner will be mostly water and therefore less effective

    • @abigailmills362

      OMY GOD THANK YOU

    • @kelleyspartiatis4776
      @kelleyspartiatis4776 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      Please don't do this. The problem is that the tabs are dry so no preservative is needed. When you put the water in it you need a preservative or it will be full of bacteria. So if you are going to do this please order a little bottle of broad spectrum preservative. It's cheap and you only need 0.5%

    • @jamescarrollau
      @jamescarrollau 6 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      I can't stress enough not doing this. It's okay to refrigerate the water and use for a day maximum, but all the pre-bottled toner waters have preservatives in them to stop bacteria from growing. You'll literally be spraying rotting ingredients on your face if you do this.

    • @SonicPhantom89
      @SonicPhantom89 7 ปีที่แล้ว +289

      I mean, to get the intended experience you should use it all at once. If you pick a bath bomb that has a surprise colour inside e.g. Fizzbanger, you're kinda ruining it for yourself by chopping it in half.
      LUSH is meant to be about treating yourself, you wouldn't go for a manicure and ask them to only do one hand because it saves money, right?

      AquilaLiberum I agree with what you are saying. The pink candy one( I can't remember the name) has little hearts inside as a surprise. That would be totally ruined if you cut them in half. Plus,as a female, it's not recommended to take baths all the time so it's definitely a weekly treat

    The comforter is meant to last 3-5 baths but I used to get more! I worked at lush in the UK :) Samples are great and we are actively encouraged to give away them! Shower gels are shampoos too but the solid bars are my favourite as they last 3 months at least. Online on the UK site is cheaper to ship to the USA so check that out!! Bathbombs should be stored airtight in cling film/bags as it is so much better at keeping the scent and stops them sinking.

    I absolutely adore Lush and I've been learned so much about them lol You should definitely order from the U.K. site! It is so much cheaper, more bang for your buck, if you're in the U.S. I swear there's like 8 dollar differences or more at times and even if its just a little different but youre getting multiple items you're still saving bc shipping is cheap as well and close to what you'd pay if you ordered U.S. Plus, you basically can get a next size up from the smallest size in the U.S. for about the same size in the U.K. That's insane but sooo great. Basically, you could go to the store and maybe buy something but also get samples and you know, sniff test new/seasonal items, and know what you want before you order. Even better, you could order Kitchen items, some of which change every week or are Oxford Street Lush exclusive. 😍😍 I've ordered twice from the U.K. myself and everything has arrived in good shape and within 10 days.

    • @8Kup
      @8Kup 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Destiny Cole how do you order from the U.K. If you have an American card? Does it just take the usd as if it were pounds?

    • @destinycole6604
      @destinycole6604 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      8Kup Just use a money currency converter app (I use the one with xe on the logo) so you know how much you're spending but yes it does take american dollars. What I do is fill my cart and when I'm ready to checkout I go to the other app, make the gbp the main currency up top and once I enter what it shows on the site it'll tell me how much in american dollars it is 🤗 Then make sure you select royal mail. if you order too much at once it can go to a higher shipping but if so just break up the order into two or something :3

      8Kup you're welcome! I actually got to go to Lush today! lol Also, ask for samples in the delivery request area 👌 I got the two I asked for and they gave me like three others lol 😄 definitely recommend using the UK site to stock up on bath bombs that are seasonal or whatnot bc they will definitely be cheaper and I recommend going to your local store just to sniff test and maybe get samples to be sure before you buy 💕 the easter bathbombs are so cute but also they're doing away with a few regular line items (wash that man right out of my hair, beautiful, pink bath bomb and yoga bathbomb so you may have to go in store to buy them if you like any of those bc yoga is sold out and idk what else is).

  • @Kristiekins2
    @Kristiekins2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    In Canada you can absolutely still get the soap samples. They don't pre-cut them anymore, but you can request it. I work as seasonal staff and we will give samples on anything except, pretty much, eye makeup and perfume. Because eye makeup, all of the makeup (it's not a lot) is eyeliner and mascara and those are...not easy to sample, and perfume samples would evaporate most likely.

    This really isn't a lush "hack" but it has saved me sooooooo much money. Making bath bombs is super easy and cheap...
    it takes me 30 minutes to make 12 full sized bombs and it is so much less money. All you need is corn starch, baking soda, citric acid, coco oil, essential oils, and water. They are basically the same as the lush ones and while they don't make as much bubbles, I use some unscented bubble bath to add more. I take 2-3 baths a week and have saved a ton of $$$ by learning this trick. It's also super fun and I get like 30 bath bombs out of $10.

    another hack: keep your bath bombs in a tin.. it makes it last longer.
    another hack: when you cut a bath bomb or bubble bar, use the crumbs as a soap or a foaming soap ya know?
    another hack: you can split your bubble bar into so many chunks. i got 8-9 uses form the comforter, and about 6 uses from the christmas penguin bubble bar.
    another hack: if you buy lush stuff for a treat, don't split your bombs ok.
    one more hack: use the sample containers to put foundation etc for when you travel.
    last hack: go online to their website, and you get the option to chat with an employee. you can ask them any questions like whether they give out samples of certain products or stores in your locality.
    ;)

      Yes, it's such a positive environment! I've gone in my work clothes (I work construction) and they were so nice. I go to a store in SF and everyone is rather snooty there, but not Lush employees.

    Okay i don’t wanna be a hater or anything but I’m an employee for lush and I just have a couple things to say about your video. First, cutting the bath bombs, yes it saves money but you don’t get all the benefits from the bomb because if they wanted you to only use half, they’d make it that way. Second, the bogo sale isn’t a definite until about two nights before is when Corp tells us it’s happening. Third, the gift sets cost the same as if you were to buy them separately, they are not $10 more and if anyone tried to tell you you saved money, I’m sorry. The gift sets are mainly there is you are buying a gift and want something pre wrapped, that’s why we have them. I liked your video and all your other tips are on point but those three not so much! P.s. you can still get soap samples so who ever is telling you that, they’re wrong and you have my polish permission to be persistent!

    Heyy there ! Like your video but there's just one thing that is bugging me: the gift are usually 1 or 2$ more so for solid products such as bath bombs and bubble bars, it's not worth the buy. But for gift that contains black pot (cream, shampoo, face cream) , those are genius because you get to try expensive products for less! :) 💝😊

    PRO TIP: Toner steamer tabs. They cost $1.95 and you can toss one in a bowl of water and pop in the fridge for an hour or so. BOOM. Toner water. Buy the big bottle once and the just refill your bottle with it!!!

    My favorite products from Lush are the shampoo bars and soap bars. I’m transitioning to the zero waste lifestyle and avoid as much plastic as I can. A tip I can give is to reuse the face mask container in the small size as a container for the shampoo bars instead of buying the tin ones. They fit perfectly and are great for traveling. Obviously don’t keep them in there when they’re wet cause you would be losing product. Store the soaps when completely dry. 💚

    As a general rule I wrap everything that isn't in a container in cling wrap and then I put the things in cling wrap in an air tight container (mason jar, etc.)
    I realize it might be overkill but I don't have the opportunity to use the bath products as often as I'd like so if I can keep them as fresh as possible I feel like they last longer and are closer to their original condition when I do get around to using them!

      I love the shower section! There are tons of shower gels to choose from with scents ranging from citrus to sweet. We have several solid scrubs and "liquid" scrubs, body conditioners (also known as lotion for the shower, you wash it off and it leaves your skin super silky). My favorite are the shower jellies! Soap in jelly form and I think they're so fun! We only have four of them but they're definitely really fun to use.
      Outside of shower, if you like massages, I definitely recommend massage bars. I actually will use some as lotion because they're so moisturizing. Ones like Wiccy Magic Muscle and Hottie actually will warm up when you use them so it's awesome for sore and irritated muscles.

    I assume others have commented but with over two hundred? I may repeat because do not want to read. I take a bubble bar and chop into thirds (garden tub) but go a step further and crumble it..making more bubbles. So even with your little chunk? crumbled and chopped finely would go further. Also waving hand in the water? creates MORE bubbles. Then even on online orders ask for samples. Lush UK can be cheaper even with conversion and the shipping.

    I think lush is a "luxury" product not because of price, but because it's more for experience and not for utility. A 6 or 10 dollar lush bath bomb is more of a luxury for me than a 100 dollar face serum that actually does things to your skin.

    These are great tips! I work at Lush and these are spot on. As far as the Boxing Day sale goes, customers at the shop where I work were lined up at the door and the store was packed the instant that we opened. There was a lot of good stuff to be had, though, so worth the trip into the shop verses online. Also, we did not stop giving soap samples, especially if there is an allergy involved. We do come out with Fathers' Day stuff! Last year was the first year.
