And even before quake, people were using explosives to reach plataforms back in the first doom game. The same is true about the railgun, it was such a popular weapon that it turned into a new game mode (railgun only). We are talking mid 90s (quake) vs mid 2000s (team fortress).

Honestly, people who still meme about Overwatch vs TF2 in this day and age are not to be taken seriously, given that both games aren't in an especially desirable state. Anything that either side says is pure projection. Personally, I love both games, and I would love to see a collab between them. Honestly, it's amazing that TF2 is either canon and likely played by some of the characters(judging by the voicelines) meaning it still exists and is popular, or that Blizzard is making a bow to its predecessor and rival.
Not enough LOTR references and one Zelda reference would make me oh so happy. But really, everyone's a critic and they packed a TON of really cool references into the voicelines. This is one of the redeeming qualities of Overwatch 2 and Blizzard games in general!
