- What is actually the difference between a dependent sample and an independent sample (paired or unpaired samples)? And why is it important to know the difference? Whether the data are from a dependent or independent sample determines which hypothesis test is used.
If your data are independent, for example, a t-test for independent samples is calculated or an analysis of variance without repeated measures. If your data are dependent, for example, a t-test for dependent samples or an ANOVA with measurement repetitions is calculated.

Thank you. Very nicely explained. In the 3:51 minute, when you talk about dependent samples and the machines lubricated, is it the same machine being lubricated first with great A and than with grease B, or are there two machines of the same type?
I did not know Austria also has such brilliant people. Thanks for the wonderful and concise explanation.
Excellent. I have a question please. If I have multiple measurements of a single variable of two different times taken at the same points with coordinates. This would be considered a related or dependent sample, right?
Yes I think so!
Thank you! But I still have a question. Сould you help me please? there is one sample of biomaterial and two reagents on which this sample was analyzed. I need to evaluate the results obtained after the analysis. Will the data be dependent?
Excellent. Extremely informative
Many thanks for your Feedback! Regards Hannah
Appreciate the clear explanation, very well done.
Many thanks for your nice feedback! Regards Hannah
Being a dependent is always better in a real world. Dependency all the way! It makes my life alot easier! :)
you are outstanding
teacher
mucha gracias por estos videos, ayudan muchísimo a mi formación.
Glad you like it! Regards Hannah : )
Exlanant explanation mam
Thank you
Let us say I have thesame number of individuals that carry on a math test and english test
here the samples are dependent?
Thanks for the video
Very well explained
well explained..thanks
Could you please tell me parametric test that can be used for trend analysis. I want to use it to identify trend in hydrochemical data that include concentrations of Ca, Mg, Na, etc.
you mean a repeated measures ANOVA or a mixed-effects model?
Independant varible define is that can manipulate l dont understand what the relation how to be grounded based upon the control and case group
Thanks🎉😊
I want to to use datatab for my data but my data more than 30 rows in datatab tutorial there are only 23 rows how can I calculate statistics of my data please help
very good
Thanks!!🥰🥰
You’re welcome 😊
Not only are you smart, but you're also extremely beautiful. (I just said it, we were all thinking it ;D)
Many thanks 😊
