If there was indeed an outbreak where the dead rose and began to mutate, specially designed hazmat suits built to withstand exposure and monitor vitals would be a huge necessity, as well as a fortified bunker to hide out to survive, somewhere that could monitor any point of breach. Now look at all the videos for this album: Killer in the Mirror: a bunch of guys get drowned in a pool only to come back from the dead and take their revenge in what could be seen as a cruel and psychotic manner. Their complexion has a not so subtle blue tint to it. Dancing with the Devil: A handful of guys are held up in a poorly constructed shelter, possibly facing minor but not life threatening infection given their bluish complexion, while a woman begs to gain entrance from outside. The lighting gives it a more purple hue, but her lower eyelids are coated in blue and her skin is off color. Lonely Dance: A handful of lucky individuals count themselves lucky after the success of a ten year mission (perhaps in research of the virus) when a security breach occurs. One of their own is attacked by a severely infected individual, slowly slipping into psychosis as the mutation spreads at a shockingly fast rate. There are no survivors. This is a singular story told by multiple points of view at multiple points in time. *Stage one:* The Dead Rise with a slightly bluish hue and most of their living consciousness intact, but they're still driven by sudden fits of insanity. *Stage Two:* The blue infection begins to spread, affecting their mental capacities outside of manipulation and psychosis. As their mental capacity deteriorates, the eyes begin to well up with this blue liquid, staining the under eyelids. *Stage 3:* Severe mutation. Nearly all sanity is lost except for a primal instinct to spread the infection through murder. Cells begin to reproduce in a cancerous state, producing tumor-like blue growths. Subject becomes extremely violent, going so far as to bite others to spread the virus. *BLUE ZOMBIES.*
when i was interpreted songs for my psych class this one was one of them. even after listening to it over and over I never got the meaning. my boyfriend said it most likely had to do with getting out of an abusive relationship. He succeeds, but the alien betrays him and infects Cody, which eventually kills him, and he and the band are now in a place that would equate to Hell/Purgatory. And Cody, still not learning his lesson, fools around with (or was tempted to do so by) the "Devil." I know I'm looking way too into this but I don't care. 😂
Cody had always been an amazing Artist, I remember when he first started making songs, no one believed he could. His biggest worry was that no one would like the music he made. Those who like his music are forever gonna love the band. So if people don't like set it off, that's their problem. I am still listening to them since early 2000s
Soo... This is my theory I tink that "dancing with the devil" means that you're beside a bad/toxic person, but is is still your "friend". Before the video starts he "danced with the devil" thats why Cody's hands are tied, and he wake up from the ashes. The shadow is the bad person, and he "danced whith the devil" again. The "12:00" in the clock is a reference to the name of the album -Midnight-

I don't know if I'm going crazy but I swear it looks like Cody has a giant scar across his throat throughout this whole video, almost as if he had his throat slit or was hung or something. Maybe I was just looking too hard for some deeper level there but even if it wasn't that was a crazy good video :) Also on another note the coloring of this video is mad aesthetic. I may not know too much about cinematographic color schemes, but from what I do know the depth that the blue/purple theme adds really does add so much depth to the emotions of alienation and other-worldliness. Also to have the main color being blue rather than red for the idea of hell of the devil makes the song so much more, and adds a lot more depth than might have been there otherwise. Mad props to the whole team who put together this music video I'm lowkey in love. (Sorry for the long winded comment this stuff is just so incredible)
Okay here's my other theory and analysis of the song (buckle up cause this shit is long) The lines "Lifes to short" implies that he knows and has experienced just how short life is, this could point to the fact that Cody and the band are already dead. The video opens up to Cody getting dirt shoveled unto him, this could be someone burying him, the trash bag looking costumes can also be a clue to that because his body could be wrapped in a trashbag as he is being buried. Next lyric "where am I?" This is a line that is heavily used when someone enters hell/heaven and they don't know. This is another fact pointing to them being dead. "I see you standing over me" this is yet another reason i believe they are dead because their killer is standing over their dead bodies as they are burying them. "Hard to breathe, i cant believe you'd do this to me?" Its hard to breathe because, again, they are dead and they couldnt believe that they would be killed by the other person. "Its funny how it ends" says that Cody didn't realize how deep in he was and his death took him by surprise. "When times get tough you always give up" this could be implying to a busted up relationship, the other person could have 'given up' by just killing off any loose ends (it's a reach i know but in a way it makes sense). "I know your smoking guns" Cody knows something he shouldnt and was killed for it. The clock in the MV is also stuck at midnight which could be the time he died. Yeah.... I'm just gonna stop there cause this is getting long but really long story short is just that Cody died and the song and music video are proof that a partner killed him

Theory: I think that the tent symbolises protection like every body else is thinking. The lady outside is the "devil" and we also know the devil for his tricks. In the video you see all the boys in the middle of the tent and basically not making contact with the walls of the tent which I think symbolises not getting to familiarise with the devil. Which is protection from being hurt by betrayal. When Cody starts to get to know the lady, he's starts getting attracted to her. This makes it easy for her to gain his trust and trick him into letting her inside of there protection and then he sees she's not who he thought she was which symbolises the betrayal of someone who you care for, either a lover, a friend, or a family member or someone you helped in the past, since the lady was kind of rubbing against the tent like she was in trouble and searching for help. This was my theory and I kind took bits of what others theorized and it helped me come up with a theory of what this video can mean. Btw this is all in opinion. I'm probably all the way off.

@@bigshaq639 I think Cody believed he was going to get powers from the alien, and those powers will be used to kill (or infect/torture) all of the people who wronged him in Killer in the Mirror, but to get them he has to kill his friends. He succeeds, but the alien betrays him and infects Cody, which eventually kills him, and he and the band are now in a place that would equate to Hell/Purgatory. And Cody, still not learning his lesson, fools around with (or was tempted to do so by) the "Devil." I know I'm looking way too into this but I don't care. 😂

Cody had always been an amazing Artist, I remember when he first started making songs, no one believed he could. His biggest worry was that no one would like the music he made. Those who like his music are forever gonna love the band. So if people don't like set it off, that's their problem. I am still listening to them since early 2000s

I tink that "dancing with the devil" means that you're beside a bad/toxic person, but is is still your "friend".
Before the video starts he "danced with the devil" thats why Cody's hands are tied, and he wake up from the ashes.
The shadow is the bad person, and he "danced whith the devil" again.
The "12:00" in the clock is a reference to the name of the album -Midnight-

I don't know if I'm going crazy but I swear it looks like Cody has a giant scar across his throat throughout this whole video, almost as if he had his throat slit or was hung or something. Maybe I was just looking too hard for some deeper level there but even if it wasn't that was a crazy good video :)
Also on another note the coloring of this video is mad aesthetic. I may not know too much about cinematographic color schemes, but from what I do know the depth that the blue/purple theme adds really does add so much depth to the emotions of alienation and other-worldliness. Also to have the main color being blue rather than red for the idea of hell of the devil makes the song so much more, and adds a lot more depth than might have been there otherwise.

Okay here's my other theory and analysis of the song (buckle up cause this shit is long)
The lines "Lifes to short" implies that he knows and has experienced just how short life is, this could point to the fact that Cody and the band are already dead. The video opens up to Cody getting dirt shoveled unto him, this could be someone burying him, the trash bag looking costumes can also be a clue to that because his body could be wrapped in a trashbag as he is being buried. Next lyric "where am I?" This is a line that is heavily used when someone enters hell/heaven and they don't know. This is another fact pointing to them being dead. "I see you standing over me" this is yet another reason i believe they are dead because their killer is standing over their dead bodies as they are burying them. "Hard to breathe, i cant believe you'd do this to me?" Its hard to breathe because, again, they are dead and they couldnt believe that they would be killed by the other person. "Its funny how it ends" says that Cody didn't realize how deep in he was and his death took him by surprise. "When times get tough you always give up" this could be implying to a busted up relationship, the other person could have 'given up' by just killing off any loose ends (it's a reach i know but in a way it makes sense). "I know your smoking guns" Cody knows something he shouldnt and was killed for it. The clock in the MV is also stuck at midnight which could be the time he died. Yeah.... I'm just gonna stop there cause this is getting long but really long story short is just that Cody died and the song and music video are proof that a partner killed him

Theory: I think that the tent symbolises protection like every body else is thinking. The lady outside is the "devil" and we also know the devil for his tricks. In the video you see all the boys in the middle of the tent and basically not making contact with the walls of the tent which I think symbolises not getting to familiarise with the devil. Which is protection from being hurt by betrayal. When Cody starts to get to know the lady, he's starts getting attracted to her. This makes it easy for her to gain his trust and trick him into letting her inside of there protection and then he sees she's not who he thought she was which symbolises the betrayal of someone who you care for, either a lover, a friend, or a family member or someone you helped in the past, since the lady was kind of rubbing against the tent like she was in trouble and searching for help.
This was my theory and I kind took bits of what others theorized and it helped me come up with a theory of what this video can mean. Btw this is all in opinion. I'm probably all the way off.
