My favourite band on the planet, you need to check out the offering, jaws and atlantic next! Also in fall for me everybody screams the 'oh god i wish you were here' when they play live, never heard anything like it before! Worship
Sleep Token is musically unique, their songs can have metal, pop, soul, r&b, trap, electronic. They're absolutely amazing musicians. I'd recommend Calcutta or Jericho
The II EP is actually goated and I can’t believe most people look past it in favour of their albums… both of which are incredible but still damn their sound II onwards has just been amazing
I understand the hype. More people are attached to this. Quality music. But for a metal fan like me, it's too soft. Some tracks are just like a radio pop song. I prefer asskickin' music

Sleep Token is special. They make you feel something with every song. I'd say listen to literally everything they've put out (lol), but to name a few that are musts: Jaws, Blood Sport, Higher, Atlantic, and Is It Really You (cover they did of a Loathe song). Absolute bangers. They'll make you cry, smile, headbang, get the chills, all within a single song. Magical band. Worship.
‘The Night does not belong to God’ is an overlooked track of theirs. It’s so unique to me, even amongst amazing songs like these three you already covered.
Awesome video! :) As a longtime admirer of this band, I must say that songs like Calcutta, Jaws and Fields of Elation will take you to the deepest recesses of the soul... The Offering is a very popular one that is phenomenal as well . Seriously, though, most everything they've done is beyond amazing.
This format of listening to multiple songs in one video is really, really enjoyable. I hope you continue it, it's a fantastic way to share in the joy of exploring new music.
You should totally do a part two on this band! In addition to the heavier songs others have mentioned (The Offering, etc), you should REALLY listen to “Bloodsport” from the Room Bellow version. It’s an acoustic version of Bloodsport and is probably on of the most moving songs I’ve ever heard.
The Love You Want is my favourite song by them!!! I'm so upset that this song exists in their discography yet they somehow weren't famous until now?? But The Love You Want hits me so hard every time. "I'll keep the freakshow talk to a careful minimum", "I reach for you on faith alone", "too many swallowed keys will make you bleed internally" get me every single time, like actual tears in my eyes. Also the way his voice gets rougher singing the chorus for the last time!! Love this band so much. Worship.
The technicality of most metal genres prepares metal musicians well. When you combine that with vision and song writing skills you get bands like Sleep Token that can do almost anything. If and when you listen to more of Sleep Token try paying attention to the drums, they are doing something interesting almost constantly.
It's such a confronting experience to be a metalhead all your life, to then admit to enjoying a band that's offering so many levels and breaking these boundaries and making you feel with their mediums. Your reaction to 'Fall for me' is the perfect example, these themes and messages have been in metal forever, just wrapped in heavier themes, violence, noise, screaming etc.. that most people just don't understand or care to enjoy. It was weird to adjust to how they made me feel the first time I seriously sat and listened to these albums, now I rotate them so heavily they are like my favourite pair of worn out shoes I just can't bear to let go of.
Sleep token is so so good, they do have a couple of 'heavier' songs but they are overall not a heavy band appart from the dark instrumentals. I'd personally reccommend checking out 'Mine', 'Dark Signs', and 'The night does not belong to god'. Some of my absolute favourites. Once you step into the rabbit hole that is Sleep token there is no turning back, they are like a drug, you just keep coming back for more :)
Really enjoyed your reaction alot. Sleep token is a special band and vessel is a phenomenal vocalist. I think you would enjoy there song Bloodsport. Live from the room below.
Sleep Token is heavy in a way that when you just flow with the music, the drop becomes more heavy. Also the lyrics are great for when dealing with depression and breakups. The music greatly describes the emotions you feel when going through that. Sleep Token have become a bucket list band for me. Loved your reaction and hope to see more Sleep Token in the future.
Sleep Token - Blood Sport (from the room below) Also, you're amazing for doing multiple videos of theirs in one reaction. For those of us that love sleep Token, they're such an underground band that we have to either show them to all of our friends in order to find people who love them or go to videos like this to enjoy the music with others. So thank you for doing multiple videos in one. This was alot of fun
Welcome to the cult, lol! Sleep Token is an experience unlike any other, and they immediately became my favorite band. For melodic songs, I recommend Jericho, Levitate, Take Aim, Blood Sport (From the Room Below), and Telomeres. For heavier songs, I'd check out The Offering, Higher, Gods, and High Water (my personal favorite). Keep in mind that even their heavier music has melodic elements front and center. Sleep Token isn't a "metal" band - in fact, they don't believe in genres. I'd honestly recommend listening to their entire discography, but be ready because it's a deep rabbit hole.
Sleep has a very unique sound. They also did a cool collection of covers. That’s no even mentioning all of the stellar original composing. Jaws and Bloodsport are two really good ones. The cover of Hey Ya!, is notable.
tbh, i was impressed about the selection of the tracks you've had in this session...., i'm listening quite some time to Sleep Token, but not too often, and it was quite a while since i did last time. But these track just got me back to my to-do albums WITH these..., thank you
I love that you did Fall for Me. Easily overlooked song and its easily my favorite they've ever done. Makes me feel sorrow and hope all at the same time.
I am so happy that there is one more person who got acquainted with Vessel. It's such a deep and thoughtful band, for real. Some people already said that they're not like any other metal band. It's not even metal. I'd rather say it's a genius blend of so many different genres. Actually, there is a very long story about this band. With that being said, I'll follow your socials and tell you many things about this band, if you don't mind. You are a very kind person. I'm so excited to watch all your videos! Worship!
Great reaction- I love seeing people discover sleep token for the first time. They hit on so many levels! To listen to next I'd recommend Jaws, bloodsport (from the room below), and the offering- those 3 songs will give you a good bit of insight into their sound!
I love the reaction.. my current favorite band and has been for a few years is Slaughter to Prevail. However, I have all of Sleep Token on my playlist, love them. I also play my play list at work and have had 3 maybe 4 people at work thank me for finding their favorite band for them.
they're my fav band so to me every song of theirs is perfect but some of my all time favs are When the Bough Breaks, Jericho, Jaws, Dark Signs, Mine. I picked a fav from every album/ep/single release btw
I’m glad they are getting more traction!! They are my all time favorite and you need to sit down and listen to every song and read the lore. They are so amazing. Worship.
I recommend Atlantic, but it is a heartbreaking song. There are a lot of sub-genres within metal, sometimes people miss out on bands like this because they are labelled that way and some people just think they don't like 'metal'.
And the thing is, when you mix opera and metal, it's considered metal, when you mix reggae and metal it's considered metal, when you mix rap and metal it's considered metal. So bands that cover unusually wide ground on styles often end up classified as metal. So it's a super wide genre full of surprises. But what makes Sleep Token definitely metal is Vessel's voice and song themes. Their songs are dark in a way only metal is even when it's just his voice and a piano. Worship.
Metal is without a doubt the only genre of music which can make you feel the full range of human emotion. I truly and deeply believe that. Trust me. I grew up on pop myself. The lyrics and themes of this type of music are unafraid to touch on the deeper parts of our deepest beliefs and traumas. When you go to a metal show, you feel as if you are surrounded with friends whom you've known for decades. We all just "get" it. Go watch a live version of "Fall for me" and you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about. Thank you for opening your mind and your heart ❤
I'm amused how it was the visuals that got you a lot more than the music 😂. I can't even focus that much on the visuals when I'm listening to a song for the first time... But then again, I have audio - tactile synaesthesia and listening to something for the first time is always a bit of an overwhelming sensation
For those of us that have been listening to scream vocals for the last 35 years, it seems hard to believe that people are just now getting tuned into this stuff but the proliferation of reaction videos and especially the masterful vocal techniques females are bringing to the table when it comes to metal vocals has really shed a light on finally getting people to take this vocal style seriously. And appreciate it for the sheer volume of work it takes to do it well, confidently, and consistently. There are discussion groups and instructors and classes that have embraced the extreme vocal stylings in the last five or ten years so that's never been easier if you can call it that... To learn how to do these kind of vocals. The pioneers of it back in the day like Barney Greenway from Napalm Death, David Vincent from Morbid Angel, Cronos from Venom or Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost had nothing to go on... They invented these vocals from the ground up and I am sincerely hoping that is people Embrace another color in the toolbox of paint it's that is vocal styling, some of the original Artisans and Pioneers in this young role will be given more and more respect. Anyway, as it pertains to you... Pop singer or not you can do this. It's just a matter of practice and like I said there's so much instructional material out there there has never been a better time to stand on the shoulder of proverbial Giants and have a proper instruction and how to do it without hurting yourself
I grew up a metalhead too. Been actively working on my vocals for a decade. I think maybe throat singing was a big inspiration for false cord vocals. There are a lot of similarities. Maybe somebody was trying to figure that out and, "Holy shit, I just sounded like a demon. This is my life now."
Music literally saved Vessel and now we get to enjoy the results. "A fan sent me a message You saved me I cannot save anyone" "Without music I'm nothing Without mask I'm nothing I did not save you You. Saved. Me." Worship.
Great reaction! I discovered these guys pretty recently and they're already one of my favorite bands ever. I think you'll really like the song "Dark Signs", it is my favorite song from them.
Can't wait for more Sleep Token! I'd recommend The Offering, Hypnosis/Atlantic and Jaws. If you want some harsher vocals you can give "Gods" a try. Keep up the great content :)
The mixing and mastering is done by George “G1” Lever. He also mixed for Loathe and Monuments and is a top notch engineer. All of the songs you reacted to are singles off their second full length album This Place Will Become Your Tomb. From their previous work my favorite song of theirs is The Night Does Not Belong To God from their debut album Sundowning. I recommend listening to it and The Offering back to back as they are the album openers. Next listen to Atlantic and Hypnosis back to back as they’re the second album openers. From their early singles Jaws is a must listen
Will definitely be checking on this channel again to see if you do anymore sleep token. If you do Blood Sport (from the room below) I'll subscribe instantly lol been waiting to see someone react to that one. It's the most beautiful song I know of
One of my favorite bands. :) I love your reactions... already watched a few of them. Subscribed! And I love the fact that you are open-minded and LISTEN to Metal / Rock and don't just say "Nah I don't like it" :) I'd like to suggest a few: Oceans Ate Alaska - High Horse Leprous - The Silent Revelation Cult Of Luna - Finland Caligula's Horse - Will's Song Holding Absence - Coffin August Burns Red - Bloodletter (funny video :D )
I'm late 100% to warn you that this band it's an addiction. The all project itself it's way more than that(way way more). It's like a modern melodrama. This dark vibe combined with this veil of mystery of Vessel(voice/writing/piano/guitar and synth too) and his worship it's a very strong combination. And the voice.. You'll never forget about this voice cause it's simply too good. Can go easly top of the chart with a catchy song and he already has a strong attitude for pop but it's deeper than that. And you feel it. You really do if you're open minded.
@@lookitsgordo the 100% was meant as a "this is 100% ABLE to fall under metal". the 100% was not meant as means to trap them under a label. the lyrics are definitely able to fall under "metal lyrics", while the track is just simple Vocaloid pop. they ARE masters of mixing genres! hyper pop and Vocaloid pop lyrics are nothing close to these, which is why i say the lyrics are 100% able to be categorized as metal/metal influenced
So in “The Love You Want”, Vessel goes to ‘battle’ the dancers and the white ribbons on the red tree seem to symbolize a loop of how many times he’s lost that battle. I think the battle itself is symbolism for trying to re-enter someone’s life and they force you back out maybe, it would fit with the lyrical content.
That last song has echoes of "Hide and Seek" by another British artist, Imogen Heap, because of the vocoder ... Sleep Token surprises you. They are supremely eclectic and defy genres, but I'd describe them as a post-metal heavy art rock band.
I would love to see you doing the reaction to the newest two singles they released a couple of days ago. It makes me emotional watching loving what they're listening too
Sleep Token is a really difficult band to explain,I felt in love with this band since the first heard,Vessel voice is so interesting and emotional such many influence and also the drummer is a total unit, you definitely check Blood sports from the room below and all the piano versions covers they have ,like the magnificent Hey ya, Somebody how loves me,When the party is over or Missing limbs
Jaws is my favorite and I think the best balance. Gods is the best heavy one and indisputably the heaviest. The Night does not Belong to God is an excellent mix and should not be skipped for a lot of reasons.
2 new songs just dropped. It would be awesome as a singer to hear your reaction to those and maybe an older one like Jaws or The Offering. The vocals are just other worldly.
Sleep Token are put into the 'metal' scene just by nature, but to be honest they aren't really a metal band. A common misconception is that they're typically called a metal band, but they're definitely more of a Pop driven band with influences from Metal. Alternative metal might even be more fitting? but you can't really constrict them to a genre really. Every song is so different from the last, their first album Sundowning is a perfect example of this. Ranges anywhere from Pop, straight metal, R&B to Electronic. Constricting them to a specific genre is not doing them justice tbh Though their most recent stuff is definitely a tad more accessible. I'd recommend checking out their older stuff, like Jaws, Calcutta, and When The Bough Breaks. When The Bough Breaks in my opinion, being the best song they've ever written along with Jaws. if you want a straight metal banger, checkout Gods
For a roller coaster of a ride song I recommend when the bough breaks. And for heavy songs hypnosis, the offering, and God's. God's actually has the most screaming in a sleep token song period and yet it still has an amazing singing section
Caralho mano,tu é br? Kkkkkkk que foda, sucesso pra vc minha consagrada hahaha Ps: hypnosis, nazareth ,jaws, bloodsport e drag me under são algumas das melhores músicas dessa banda.
I finally just understood the video for the love you want. Each white bow represents each time he tried to get the combination to her heart and failed, resulting in his heart getting broken (stabbing himself in the video). At least that's my interpretation

The newest album was produced by George, he didn't mix or master it
Will definitely be checking on this channel again to see if you do anymore sleep token. If you do Blood Sport (from the room below) I'll subscribe instantly lol been waiting to see someone react to that one. It's the most beautiful song I know of
Sleep Token is my favorite band, please do a part 2 with more of their songs! (Jaws, Atlantic, Sugar)
One of my favorite bands. :)
I love your reactions... already watched a few of them. Subscribed!
And I love the fact that you are open-minded and LISTEN to Metal / Rock and don't just say "Nah I don't like it" :)
I'd like to suggest a few:
Oceans Ate Alaska - High Horse
Leprous - The Silent Revelation
Cult Of Luna - Finland
Caligula's Horse - Will's Song
Holding Absence - Coffin
August Burns Red - Bloodletter (funny video :D )
Sleep Token to me is like Slipknot and Depeche Mode had a child together. And as with most mixed families, their children are absolutely beautiful!
Welcome to the family! Worship!
Fall For Me is 100% metal, this isn’t heavy sonically, it’s heavy EMOTIONALLY. i cant make it thru this song without crying everytime!
The video makes it so much more emotional
It's not metal, but that's okay. It's a good song, and they do not have to be trapped under the "metal" label.

Def. hope you react to more from Sleep Token, like Atlantic, Hypnosis, The Offering and Sugar. But their whole discography is gold, tbh
I would love to see you doing the reaction to the newest two singles they released a couple of days ago. It makes me emotional watching loving what they're listening too
Definitely blood sport, and their cover of k want to dance with somebody
Please do a part 2. Much love
This brought such a bright smile to my face. I'm so happy you love them as much as we do. W0RSHIP
Hey Jami, really enjoyed your reaction to these 3 songs. If you're going to do a part 2 of earlier stuff, go with jaws, the offering and blood sport
Jaws is my favorite and I think the best balance. Gods is the best heavy one and indisputably the heaviest. The Night does not Belong to God is an excellent mix and should not be skipped for a lot of reasons.
E eu que to inscrito nesse canal vai fazer um tempo e só percebi agora que tu é brasileira Kkkkkkk, Sleep Token é fantástico, abraço e boa sorte! ❤️
Jaws, sugar and hypnosis are my faves. And Will Ramos of Lorna Shore did a cover of Hypnosis, it's amazing!
2 new songs just dropped. It would be awesome as a singer to hear your reaction to those and maybe an older one like Jaws or The Offering. The vocals are just other worldly.
Awesome reaction. Please react to Blood Sport (from the Room Below version) from them. They are awesome.
My personal favorite is Telomeres by Sleep Token. It's from this same album. Maybe one of my favorite songs ever
Constricting them to a specific genre is not doing them justice tbh
Though their most recent stuff is definitely a tad more accessible. I'd recommend checking out their older stuff, like Jaws, Calcutta, and When The Bough Breaks. When The Bough Breaks in my opinion, being the best song they've ever written along with Jaws. if you want a straight metal banger, checkout Gods
Calcutta is awesome.
His falsetto's are on point...
For a roller coaster of a ride song I recommend when the bough breaks. And for heavy songs hypnosis, the offering, and God's. God's actually has the most screaming in a sleep token song period and yet it still has an amazing singing section
"Seems your heart is locked up and I still get the combination wrong". Been there, done that.
great band!
No one over here recommending Sleep Token's song The Way That You Were. One of the most powerful ones of them all
Welcome to the church of Sleep Token.
Worship.
If you want to hear how beautiful and haunting the emotion in his voice can be listen to Blood Sport, but the From the Room Below version.
Caralho mano,tu é br? Kkkkkkk que foda, sucesso pra vc minha consagrada hahaha
Ps: hypnosis, nazareth ,jaws, bloodsport e drag me under são algumas das melhores músicas dessa banda.
#JamiNunes, you're so sweet. Your content is absolutely amazing, and I love watching you react to different kinds of music.
Another girl in love with the singer
Bloodsport, Atlantic, and Jaws. Those need to be checked out. Sleep Token is an experience in itself. Also their drummer is amazing.
I finally just understood the video for the love you want. Each white bow represents each time he tried to get the combination to her heart and failed, resulting in his heart getting broken (stabbing himself in the video). At least that's my interpretation
