About the game:
Black Desert Online (Korean: 검은사막) is a sandbox-oriented massively multiplayer online role-playing game by Korean video game developer Pearl Abyss. The game uses Pearl Abyss' own "Black Desert" engine specifically created to handle the fast rendering required for its seamless world and large-scale castle sieges. Black Desert Online takes place in a high fantasy setting and revolves around the conflict between two rival nations, the Republic of Calpheon and the Kingdom of Valencia. The combat in Black Desert Online is action based, requiring manual aiming similar to those found in first-person shooters. Skills can be activated through use of combos. With the lack of a healing class players must rely on well timed dodging or blocking as well as the use of potions. Players can use the mouse and keyboard or gamepad for navigation and combat.

@@Styli972 sorry for the late reply, the mask is the default mask for ninja, if you're not wearing any cosmetic head piece or if you have the cosmetic headpiece set to hidden the face mask will pop up by default when you unsheathe your weapon. =]

New to ninja and made a commitment worth 400 mill lmao. This has helped me out alot. Thanks, granted im still 56 so i dont have any flows or enough skill to freely and unconsciously switch between the pre/awak lol its a brain twister.

Cyri by any chance can you show what skill addons are best for ninja?.
I can't think of the exact add-ons I have off the top of my head, but personally, I use pvp attack, poison, and fire damage, accuracy, damage against monster, and defense buff, it's up to you where to add these as skill add-ons, but I would suggest adding it to skills you use quite often to maximize the activation of the add-ons. =]

Gear progression in BDO is different than most RPG, you can obtain armours and weapons early in game that can be used for the end game grind.
Personally, I went with full rocaba(defensive, evasion, wp), but most common early builds are either full grunil (offensive, +hp), or a mix of 2pc grunil, and 2pc rocaba or heve, these are the armours you should be looking at til you can get your hands on some boss armours.
For weapons, I went from yuria shortsword (PvP) to liverto(2nd BiS) til I was able to get some kzarka(Current BiS)
for awakening, you'll do fine with just the green awakening(PvE) til you can get your hands on a dandelion(Best of both worlds, pvp, pve) (BiS for awakening weapon) =]

After playing a kuno and learning the class somewhat I love it. Played witch, mystic and Sorc none of them have the mechanic. I am going to make a ninja as my side project later today.

Thanks for the support! keep in mind, these are combo flow guides, you won't have any problem landing these in pve, but pvp is a different story, feel free to add or remove stuff in the combo, or to branch out from one combo to another, these are merely guidelines to help you create your very own combo, thus having your very own style of combat flow. =]

It's just a ninja narusawa armour with black dye, and ninjas wear masks by default whenever you draw your weapon, but you can toggle the mask to stay on when you go to the bottom right of your current equipments screen. =]
what costume that u use?
The outfit is called "Ninja Narusawa" and I have the headgear set to "hidden", so the default ninja face mask would show up =]

Im pretty new to the game and just got 56 and Awakening Weapon on my Ninja could u maybe help me out with some Pve Combos ? Also should i switch alot between shortsword and awk weapon ? just some Basic Rotations you use for Grinding that i can repeat to get into it :S ? Thanks !

As for switching between awakening, and pre awakening, you don't really have to, there are no rules or edict on how you should play, when I don't feel like constantly switching to my pre-awake when grinding or pvping, I just don't. haha, really depends on what works for you, some people excels in constantly switching between main and awakening, some people excels in just using the awakening weapon, but I say, there's no harm in practising both styles so you can have more goodies in your combo repertoire . =]

for gearing, what're your equipments right now? generally for armours, you would want either a full grunil, or rocaba, or 2pc grunil, and 2pc rocaba, for weapons, your starting will always be a yuria shortsword, but if you have the luxury to get your hand on a liverto, then go for it. Livertp will be your place holder item til you can get a kzarka, for the awakening weapon, most would stick with a Green awakening until they could get a dandelion awakening weapon(BiS) =]
Cool ill be sure to check that out.I'm wearing a +15 Yuria short sword and +15 estique shiruken, then jarrettes set. Then just +5 argerian set. ill work on getting full grunil and look for a liverto. Outside of boss armor, what's the best way to increase ur WP? Just eating every 30m? At 54 (couldn't grind all day cause wanted to +15 MH/oh) and only 100 wp makes combos very...un-combo-like lol

In the second awakening, ninjas and kunoichis are getting buffed with being able to attack while in concealment and still remain concealed.

cyri i know this is too late to comment this video for now, but i wanna know how to fight another class with high defend like berserker and guardian(2019 new), and warrior maybe.. because i always die when using awakening to fight them, awakening has no skill with super armor, they can grab us when we use skill haha
I have a question, isn't all this just super unrealiable if someone has high resists to stuns and etc?

Not necessarily, the resistance cap for pvp is 60%, and the chances of a player capping on each and every resistance is slim to none, and even then, skills have multiple hits, cc is applied depending on the skill used, some skills have a chance to apply cc per good hits. Sure having a high resistance, will sometimes give you the opportunity for a counter attack, it's all luck of the draw, you will get cc'd more often than actually resisting the cc, we tried out different builds, tried overstacking resistance for knockdown, and bound, etc. (even though the cap is 60% for pvp, I went over it.) but we still get cc'd almost as often as when we had our resistance all the way down to around 30ish, the resistance that has the most notable impact is the grapple resist, but like I say all the time, a combo is only used when you see an opening, and if you can successfully land it, it's up to the player's discretion, that's where a player's experience with end game pvp comes in. These combo flow guide becomes useless when you try to force it, and get fixated into landing a combo without the right set of circumstances. Improvise, Adapt, overcome. =]
How good is ninja in pvp? I'm leaning towards ninja or striker to gear up for pvp purposes. I started playing bdo last December so I instantly made archer coz it's the newest class and new classes tend to be on the OP side and boy was I right lol. So now I'm planning to use my archer to grind for silver and make another char for pvp purposes.
It's always good to have multiple characters, that way you don't get tired of grinding. (works for me, at least) Hmmm, Ninja is really more for 1v1 and small scale engagements, and the striker class also works well under the same circumstances, not so sure when it comes to large scale engagements since my pvp experience with the striker class is strictly from the Battle Arena, it's more tanky compared to the ninja that's for sure, but the Ninja class is definitely more agile. (more fun to use too, personal bias here, since I main Ninja hahah) that being said, the ninja does experience difficulties in large scale warfare and I think the striker class fares better in large scale pvp than the ninja. =]

Pre awaken guide for what to get and not get ? For skills that is
Apologies for the late reply, typically you'd want to invest on your burst AoE skills, like beheading the dead, Black moonlight, blade spin, shadow clone, shadow stomp, and fox claw, everything else is highly dependent on what build you're aiming for, I wouldn't max out the shackles skill, though it applies a really a good -movement speed debuff on the target, it takes up a lot of time to cast the skill, and trying to land it against moving opponents will prove quite difficult, at the moment I don't know of any animation cancel for the shackles skill.

For this video, we didn't use any crystals or high end equipment.
But my main build has two accuracy crystals for the main weapon, either 2x awakened spirit crystal, or 1 awakended spirit crystal + crit damage crystal for my sub weapon, awakening doesn't have a crystal slot, the main weapon crystals carry over to the awakened weapon though. =]

hmm, for armours, you can't go wrong with going for a full set grunil(offensive, A), or rocaba(Defensive, Evasion) , or mixing and matching for 2pc each. =]
A yuria shorthand, green awakening (generally, most people would use green awakening til they could get their hands on a dandelion), and before I have a different suggestion for accessories, but since it's introduction to the game, I suggest getting an asula accessory set, the stats are just too good to overlook. =]
For subweapons, I'd suggest either a tadd(dp evasion), or quitar(accuracy). hope this helps.
Cyri Thanks mate :)). I use heve on my wizard. Is it good on ninja? Or Grunil/Rocaba are better? Money are not a problem ;). And for the weapon, I saw on ninja discord that they suggest using rosar. What do you think about that?

2pc heve for the +250hp works too, 2pc heve and 2pc grunil, that way you have the +250 hp and +5ap. =]
I personally use Rosar subweapon, it's the most versatile sub of the bunch, but tadd offers more evasion at the cost of a crystal slot, it all falls down to your preference, but I noticed I'm more tanky when using a tadd, but I do like the extra slot from the rosar. =] I basically just switch back and forth between the rosar and tadd, since I can't make up my mind. hahah!

Personally, whenever I make an alt., I always go for the krea weapon and sub weapon set because of the accuracy bonus. Rosar sub is better than the krea sub if you're not going to use it as a set, but as a set, krea>rosar in my opinion, especially if you're going to grind an area that's a higher level than you are, the accuracy really comes in handy, but if you need more accuracy, you can always use a quitar sub. most of my alts are using krea weapon set + asula accessories, I find it suitable enough for my alt. grinding needs. =]

That's a Ninja Narusawa outfit, dyed olvian black and basic dye snow white . =] the colour for the outfit is red by default.

Technically, you can snipe it off of the marketplace but you've got to be really lucky to pull that off, it tends to sell out quickly like a value pack; one other way is if you're lucky enough to get one from dye boxes. What I have on the video is from the merv's palette, it lets you use any dye colour you want for a limited time, if you have a value pack active, you automatically get access to the merv's palette; so you can try and snipe a value pack if you can't seem to luck out on a black dye, be warned though, sniping a value pack is an arduous journey as well. =/

@@theansvv3r-898 PUMPING POMPI apologies for the late reply, hmm, skill build, it's pretty much the same for pvp and pve.
For equipment(since you just started playing) hmm, start off by getting your hand on some asula accessories, if it's already implemented (you can check the monster drop, or item drop section in the menu to find out which item drops where), it's better if you can complete the set, if it's not implemented yet, then get the bares accessories for the time being; for your main hand, I started off with a yuria then to a liverto.(if you can afford a liverto right off the bat, then definitely go for it. ) For your secondary weapon, you can use the AP version for your class if you're farming monster that's the same level as you are, and accuracy version if you're farming monster with high evasion, or higher level that you are; for your awakening, stick to the green version til you can get your hands on a dandelion, especially if you'll be mainly PVE, it's much cheaper that way. =] for armour, I started off with full Grunil, then I switched to a 2x grunil, 2x rocabba, and that was my set til I was able to obtain some boss armours. =]

My outfit is called "Narusawa" while Gadou's outfit during the intro is a mix of Karlstein (body) and Cokro (hood) and for the rest of the scenes he's wearing Gavi Regan (body) and Kibelius(helm). =]

@@jeremydeveyra6483 Ahhhh, sweet memories of being able to snipe a value pack from the marketplace... The black dye is [olvian]black, you can dye youe outfit to change the colour. When you have an active value pack, you gain access to some dye ( shader)for as long as the value pack is active(this is a temporary dye)..but you can also buy the said dye. (permanent, only way to remove the colour is by bleaching) You can try your luck buying dyes off of the marketplace(be warned, it'll make you want to pull your hair off), I haven't tried buying anything from the central marketplace since I went on hiatus. =|

Cool video but combo or not working, or not profitable (there are a few more or less normal, but not the best).
Hy nice video. I am play BDO now for an month and make a ninja on DI. But i looked intensively the combos, and i dont understand the point where you switch to Surano awakening Style at 1.59-2.00. For me in fight there is an 2-3 sec animation you dont have this how is that possible Hack or glich using for animation cancel or what ????????????????????????????

that's an animation cancel, after the blade spin, quickly switch to your awakening and it will cancel out the switch animation.( whenever you attack and quickly switch to your awakening, it will cancel out the 2-3second weapon switch animation.)
Thanks for information, but not working for me! I think it depends on a bug i figured out. If you rebind the c button where you change to surano, it get bugy. So if you made the mini game quest Awakening Quest where you have to made a combo, the combo will get perfektly mastered but the qst will reset automaticly and get not finished. so i think rebind keys and use in shortcut bar will bug it out the Awakening miniQuest and Animation Canceling. i have to test that next time :( Another question is Animation cancel is it a feature or a bug and if i get reported with video can i get baned ??????? Or is it allowed?

hmmm, that is strange, I've rebinded my awakening button and it still works for me, maybe you're trying to do it after black moonlight? switching to the awakening stance post black moonlight skill does not produce an animation cancel, same is true with some other skills, so familiarity through experience is key, but maybe yours is a very peculiar bug. =/
also, It's not bannable, in bdo's case, most, if not all players are using animation cancels, it just displays a player's familiarity and mastery of the class. =] (same can't be said for other games.)
Realy i can reproduce this bug every time so i use all my shortcut useable skills in bar like WOW :) not like in your Video you use there your drinkets. You are doing your combos by use (w,a,s,d,q,c,Space ....... ) i use it from bar by press one of my 20 mousebuttons Roccat Nyth =D maybe this cancel the cancle animation, and i use realy Blade Spin in front of swap to surano awakening. So maybe i will build some macros where 2-4 combos will do in row by press one button =D maybe this will do it. otherwise i have to change my keys back :( but thanks for your attention very n1 and cool. Sry bad english =D

Whenever I use skills, I use the required button press (if applicable) I rarely use the quickslots for skills if a button press is present. =]
I would stay away from macros, according to black desert's terms of use, that's a bannable offense, and I quote,
"The use of macros is forbidden, as stated in Section 12.1.3 of our Terms of Use. Customer support will take action based on the severity of Macro usage.
Users that are using "convenience macros", which cannot be verified on our server logs may experience issues with Xigncode, our anti-cheat software, and will not recieve any assistance from Customer Support.",
kakao can be merciless when it comes to banning.
So.. hopefully you find a better workaround for your problem. =/

Ohhh, just hide all the pearl costume you have on your head, that's the default look of the ninja class whenever you unsheath your weapon, the mask appears. =]

With the recent patch. (relatively speaking) it's easier to break the guard just by bursting, but the best way is probably to grab the turtler, if your class doesn't have a grab, then going behind the turtle for a cc, a riposte is the way to go, hope this helps! =]

Not necessarily, you can use it for both. =] (minus the grabs and other CCs if the monster is immune to it)

The outfit is called "Narusawa", I dyed it Olvian black, and basic dye snow white for the white parts, the default colour for the outfit is beige and red. =] hope this helps!

Most stuff you can get for real money are cosmetics, and you can buy pets and outfits of off the marketplace, but it does require ginormous amounts of luck, the only items I could think of that's most likely p2w are the pearl camping set, and artisan's(used to repair boss gears.) you can buy with pearls (which is the currency for real money) other than that, you can't buy weapons or armours with real money.
albeit players can sell pearl items (Items bought with real money) in the marketplace, it is limited to 5 pearl items per week.
