This is wild. I just bought a 1961 10 Rubles note for my step-father who is also interested in the USSR. I will send him this video when I give him the gift. Thanks for the explanation!
The Pavlov Reform is definitely a topic deserving its own video. To tell a country the size of the Soviet Union, that was cash based, that people only had three days to exchange their 50- and 100-ruble notes before they got demonetized was bound to cause major problems. Plus, there was a 1000 ruble per person limit on the exchange of those notes. Then to reduce confidence in the Soviet financial system even more, they put a 500 ruble per month withdrawal limit on bank accounts.
I love old memorabilia! I have several notes from the soviet aligned Somali Democratic Republic printed in the 70s which are also useless now since it no longer exists but i absolutely love them! Trying to buy more of them from Somaliland
It literally has no value now outside of memorabilia for those interested in Soviet history. Hell im sure theres probably russian companies who have made profits making copies of it to those interested in memorabilia/ gift shops.
Why not counterfeit the 5000 note? It's not like they issue paper 1 ruble notes anymore. That's like saying "why copy the US dollar?" Because the 20-100 are worth it.

Just checked the russian rubles is worth less than one US penny. 0.0096
I recently ordered a book, and the author stuck a 60's 1 ruble note to use as a bookmark. Very cool
😊👍

What is the expression you say at the end of your videos?
"See you later" in Ukrainian or Russian
@@UshankaShowUkrainian lately, at least I don't recognize what you said here versus the Russian da svidanya.

I doubt anyone is counterfeiting the ruble nowadays. I think the ruble is less than $.01?
