    Various shots of Jamestown show a village recreating the lifestyle of sixteenth century settlers. L/S of a Pan American aeroplane landing at Washington's Dulles International Airport; a mobile passenger lounge is backed onto the aircraft; the passengers walk onto it and it drives off.
    Several shots of Washington; Capitol building; The White House; the Lincoln Memorial; several street scenes; quaint houses. Various shots at Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. L/Ss of the Washington Monument. M/S of the exterior of the Smithsonian Institution with US army rockets beside it. We see the Jefferson Memorial at Charlottesville; Jefferson's house; the University of Virginia, founded by Jefferson; a statue of Washington on a horse. Tobacco crops are inspected; tomatoes are picked in another field.
    In Yorktown we see tourists looking at cannons at the battlefield of the War of Independence. L/S of the Blue Ridge Mountains; several beautiful scenic shots from the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah; tourists look at souvenirs at an Indian trading post shop. Various shots of stalactites in the limestone caves.
    Cars drive along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel; the bridge is interrupted by two mile-long tunnels. Several shots at Virginia Beach; people surfing; sunning on the sand. L/S of the Alan B. Sheperd Convention Centre (The Beach Boys are on the billboard); revolving sign advertises seafood restaurant. A cowgirl is seen training a horse at Chincoteague Wildlife Reserve; numerous cowboys and girls set off on a wild pony roundup.
    At Williamsburg we see several scenes of traditional crafts and ways of life demonstrated by folk in historical costume; the town recreates historic scenes for tourists.
