The only opinions that anyone needs are positive ones. I love that you are truly yourself. I have wasted so much of my life worried about others' opinions. I should have channeled all the worry into making more cards and scrapbooks. I love your tips. Thank you for sharing.
Aw, thanks @kimtimmons9326. I haven't always been this way, and I will probably still struggle from time to time, but I am excited to take this crafting journey in a different direction. Thank you for being here, I truly appreciate it. Have a wonderful week 🤗💖
So true on the criticism. Our craft group was interviewed by the local paper. He was kind of rude and then started asking prices on our materials etc. Like the big shot. Sewing machines etc. lol. He pretty much was looking down the barrel of a dozen pissed women!!!! Sooo how much was your skidoo?? What does it cost for your golfing summer. How much was your fishing boat. lol. He didn’t stay long. And he knew better than to print anything on the costs of our various hobbies and supplies. So. Take no prisoners. lol. Great videos. Hi from Northern Manitoba
YES! As I said in my comment, misogyny is at the root of so much of this garbage. Good on you ladies for standing right up to that doofus. So much for unbiased journalism, hey?
@ kymlafontaine1162 Oh wow, that was gutsy of him 😄 I've been thinking about this a lot. It's not just men that think this, I have come across women too. I think it's because they can't see the protentional like we can. They just see clutter. I guess we all have our different takes on the topic 😉 We see the possibilities in the things people consider trash or clutter, that's why we're crafters!!! 💪 Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it 💖
💕Donna, I should have sent you a picture of my craft room! I couldn't even walk in the door. I'm a quilter and crafter. I moved 10 months ago. I have been so busy sorting through 20 years of stuff. I look at other craft rooms, you know, the ones that are all white and perfectly organized...I get depressed and disillusioned. I have finally realized that I can't afford it AND it's alright 😊 I'm really enjoying your series, because I can relate. THANK YOU, for sharing ❤️ AND, for putting yourself "out there!" 💕
Thank you so much Jodi!! I am realizing more and more as I am doing this series, that our craft rooms are more of the norm than the perfectly curated ones!! Don't let it get you down, we can do it, little by little 💕 I am happy you are enjoying the series!!! I truly appreciate it. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing 🤗💖
Donna, I love your work. It really inspires me. Like you, I have lots of stuff and my craft room can feel out of control. However, the clutter makes my room feel like an old friend, warm and welcoming. Some people would go crazy in a place like that. That’s ok for them, but I love it. You do you and NEVER be ashamed of it. You are great just as you are.
Awesome! Now you've inspired me to get moving with mine 😂❤ Hope all is well 🤗 I always enjoy your organisation ideas and seeing your craft room come along
Aw, thanks Liyana 😊 I appreciate it!! It's been a huge job, but I'm determined to get it done!! Thanks for watching my friend. All is well here. I hope all is well with you 🤗💖
Great upgrades! To support the shelves under your table you could screw in metal "L" brackets in the cabinet walls & underneath the problem shelves. Another option is to screw in a wood strip in the cabinet walls & underneath the problem shelves. Just a thought 😇 Godspeed! - Lili
Thanks for the suggestion. I will think about it and see if I can get that to work 😉 It would sure give them so much more support!! Great idea. Thanks so much for watching 🤗💖
A few years ago, i moved from a 4 bedroom home with a 1& a half car attached garage & a 2 car detached garage (my crafting storage haven) to a 1 bedroom duplex apartment. Just me & decades of crafting supplies. It's been almost impossible to organize this space! My goal for this year was that it WOULD happen (I actually started purging & donating last year as I brought out each seasonal tote). It was TOUGH 💔, I won't lie & even though I'm not "there" yet, I am SO much closer. I spent this last winter storm we had to go through every single bits & baubles. This is useful, you certainly are not alone, & I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. Thank you 💖
Wow, you are amazing, what a huge task!! It’s so hard to let go!! You’re making progress, that's what matters!!💖Thanks so much for watching and sharing Carla!! I wish you all the best 🤗💕
Good morning Donna, I love this series of your reorganization of your craft room. I am new to your TH-cam diy channel. I am from Louisiana watching. I hope to have a crafts room someday. I am running out of space because of my supplies. I like to shelve unit for your Cricut supplies and using night table for extended top space. Thanks for sharing. You are doing a great job in your craft room🙏❤️😷💪🏽❣️❣️❣️
Wow! everything is looking so much more organized-- you're doing great. Thanks to you, I'm ready to tackle the purging of it all!!! Love watching your videos of all kinds!! xxoo
I am glad you are embracing your crafts and your collection of craft supplies. It is amazing what items can capture one's imagination for a craft. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series and taking notes on your storage ideas.
My daughter was an art major, too. I was told she would never be able to go to college, but she got her MFA (Master of Fine Arts degree) and even taught art at a graduate school. Cheers to our daughters!
Oh cool!! My daughter is only getting her Fine Arts Certificate for now. She may further her studies, but she's not crazy about the city she's living in right now. She plans to take some online classes when she moves back home. I love that artists have better opportunities now!! Yes, Cheers to our daughters!! 💖🤗🎉
Donna, you're doing a great job getting your space in shape. I know you will feel energized and inspired to create beautiful new pieces! I have really loved watching your videos and have been inspired by you many times. Thanks for sharing with the world! I really think so much of the craft- and stash-shaming is just rooted in misogyny. After all, it's mostly women who identify as "crafters" and OF COURSE our pastimes and hobbies are less important and worthy of derision. Feh, I say! I pride myself in reusing and repurposing so many things in my ARTWORK. You know those twist-tie things that come on bags of coffee? I save every flipping one of them and have used them for so many things! I fastened strings of Christmas lights to my chain-link fence with some of them, and also have hot-glued them inside the fabric hats of holiday gnome to make them bendy.. I sold at least 30 little gnomes at my last holiday bazaars, and I delighted in telling people about what made their hats bendy, haha! I'm in the Seattle area, and everyone loves keeping things out of the landfills. Reused/repurposed materials is a great selling point. Why use something new that I have to buy, if I can repurpose something that is FREE? But of course that means I have a stash of possibilities and treasures. Last October, to get ready for hip replacement surgery, I had to box up a ton of supplies and treasures and store them away, so I could get into my bedroom/office/art studio with a walker for recovery (it's a large room, but it was jam-packed and a giant mess). I did purge a lot of stuff, but I really will need to reorganize once I've recovered from the second surgery (Jan. 28, yay!). I have gotten so many supplies and materials that I have not put away with like items, and yeah, its an issue. But it's an issue of abundance and possibilities!
Aw, sorry you feel this way. My experience has actually been with women, they aren't crafty at all. After a lot of thought, I personally think it's because they just can't see the potential we see in everything, they just see clutter. But when we create something from nothing, they are always amazed!! 😉 I love that you upcycle. Here in BC Canada, we do a lot of that too. I am hoping to expand on that more this year. I hope you are all healed up 💗 Thanks so much for sharing with me, I appreciate it. Thanks for watching. Happy Crafting 💖🤗
Donna, like all crafters, we just have a lot of stuff! We never know what object or product will inspire our next creation. And, you're right, we should not be ashamed of our "stash," no matter the volume. Like you, with each decluttering/reorganizing of my craft space, I find something that inspires me. The progress you've made thus far is impressive. Remember, just like traveling, it's not the destination; it's the path one takes to get to the destination. The journey enriches your experience with the destination. Love your channel and the many, many awesome projects you bring to us. ❤
Thank you so much Patricia!! I appreciate the encouraging words. I will say that I need to let some things go, but I don't want to feel ashamed anymore. I realize I need to take better care of things though, it'll make crafting easier and I won't be wasting so much time looking. I am excited to bring new content with the things I have found during my organization. Thanks again. Take care 💖🤗
I have several drawer towers like you showed at the beginning. I plan to use super glue to re-attach the wheels. They hold lightweight yarn, decomesh, and ribbons. Setting up or re-organizing a craft room takes a lot of time and planning. I bought bed risers to elevate my table so some drawer units will fit under it.
Ya, I like the drawer towers, but my wheels busted. I'm using elsewhere in the basement now, a place I don't have to worry about moving it. I love idea of bed risers to create more storage space!!! Love it!!! Thanks so much Mary Ellen. Have a wonderful weekend 💖🤗
@@creartivebynature Donna, you could find an inexpensive potted plant wheely thingie (I'm sure there's a technical term for that, but you get my drift) to replace those broken wheels on that tower, and it can live again!
You are helping to motivate me so much! I have so many machines and large tools that need a flat surface, I like your dresser and night stand idea. Keep it up girl! Thanks
Aw, thanks so much!! Ya, the dresser has been such a useful piece of furniture. Thanks for watching. I am happy you are enjoying the series and are finding it helpful. Take care 🤗💖
Your doing a great job organizing your space, it’s going to serve your needs well! i gave up apologizing for my mess. i have a very small space to be creative in since I live in a small apartment . Thanks for sharing
So happy for you that you’re feeling better & enjoying the progress thus far 🙂. I hadn’t heard that perspective about other vocations & their supplies - it’s simple but profound & actually lovely. As I shared in my comment on your first of this series, I created (pun intended 😉) quite a mess for myself & am literally sitting in our living room right now facing some that still remains. I have to remind myself: mistakes happen (i.e. my decisions in the fall), life happens (i.e. I cannot stop everything else & devote my every waking moment to cleaning / reorganizing it), I don’t have to quit, just keep at it as able - like your decision to spend 10 minutes a day at minimum, & also: I will probably have to reorganize & clean up my craft space many times in the years ahead, because using the space can’t possibly mean it stays pristine all the time - and it can be fun to do, too! Cheeto is so adorable, it was so nice to see him again! Looking forward to your next update & other videos!
I love your take on this!! Little by Little it will get cleaned. And you are right, if it's always pristine, then we aren't using our spaces 😉 Thanks so much for following along on this journey. I truly wish you all the best 🤗💖
👏👏👏 Donna it’s coming along nicely! I L❤️ve that you have the pcs your father made🥰. Suggestion- the night table, put your table on the floor, build a u shaped box/cubby to set on top (similar to the pcs you place on top originally, but w/narrow legs.) This would give you the height you need as well as another shelf/cubby. Could easily be stained to match! I hope this made sense and just a suggestion. Also, Dana K White is collaboration with crafters😝. I can’t think of the title but it’s just been within the new year. I’ve watched a couple of them so far. Don’t know if she might have some ideas/options to help. Thank you so much for all you do❤️😀
I've thought of that, not sure what I will use yet. I'll see if I can find something amongst my other stash of supplies. I agree, it would be a good use of space 😉 Ya, I watched a few of those videos from the series. I'll be honest, I don't know if I could clean up like that. I've tried it before and I got so frustrated and gave up 😕 I decided to give myself a lot of time to get it done and I am feeling so much better about it. Thanks for watching and for your support. Take care 💖🤗
For myself I have gone overboard on how much product I get. In the past I've seen things and said oh I could use this and 10 years later I'm still not using it. I think it is good to have a healthy look at our products and supplies and really assess whether or not we could really use all that we have in the time that we have on this Earth. I've gone through my craft room several times and now I am down to a fifth of what I had a couple years ago. Every time I find more I can let go of. After a while it didn't bother me to have less. I hope you can find that in decluttering your supplies.
You are so right, sometimes we just need to let go!!! I love your perspective, it's very helpful. Thanks so much for watching and for your insight, it's greatly appreciated. Take care 🤗💖
It would be an added expense in time and money, but have you considered building up the bottom of the night stand and adding casters? You could put your laser cutter on top and have it (somewhat) mobile which might help with the venting. Being able to access the window could be important. Good luck with the rest of the organising.
Nice idea, but I have my laser machine exactly where I need it, the window opens right by the exhaust outlet!! I will be showing all of that in my final room tour. I'm waiting for a new exhaust fan to come in 😄 Thanks so much for your suggestion, I appreciate it. Happy crating 💖
I bet getting more natural light into your space feels so good. I want to gently advise that you remind yourself of that and try not to pile on top where it will block the light.
Yes, the light is so nice!! I will keep it open, it's good for my mental health as I get Seasonal Affective Disorder. The light helps so much. Now I need to figure out a way to lift the diffuser I use for recording videos, it's a shower curtain. I need it to record, gets rid of the harsh shadows, but it would be nice to have it drawn up so I can see outside when I'm not crafting. Thanks so much for your advice. Take care 🤗💖
Oh wow that looks wonderful!! One of my problems is I just have a loft for my crafts and I'm running out of room. 😂😂 I've went up as high as I can on both sides and the back wall is short cause of the slanted roof. It would be nice if I didn't do so many different crafts but I love em all!! I'll just have to see if there's things I can get rid of or what else I can do. All of a sudden my emojis don't want to work. Oh well, Hugs God Bless y'all
Oh, a loft would be cool!! But I can see the challenges. Ya, I'm trying to fit the things I love and letting go of the rest. I'm tired of moving my cluttered around and not having homes for everything. It sure makes crafting difficult at times. thanks so much for sharing Lisa. i hope all is well. Take care 💖🤗
Ya, if you try it out, let me know if it works 😉 Someone else suggested L brackets, I might try that, we'll see. Thanks for watching and for your suggestion. Take care 💖

Yes, the light is so nice!! I will keep it open, it's good for my mental health as I get Seasonal Affective Disorder. The light helps so much.
If when I get that shelf I plan to use it the same way so I’m wondering if them metal pieces that look like the wooden pieces would work better.
Ya, if you try it out, let me know if it works 😉
Someone else suggested L brackets, I might try that, we'll see.
Thanks for watching and for your suggestion. Take care 💖
