On friday nights, I generally see the southbound leesdale local through chatsworth. It always has a good amount of loaded autoracks on it- I just dont know where they would be going, my only guess would be they would be thrown onto the train between Gemco and West Colton. Any ideas?
BMW's assembled in North Carolina come to the Port of Hueneme, then go to BMW Engineering & Emission Center in Oxnard. How the BMW's get to each So Cal dealership is a good question? Hyundai ships cars to the Port of Hueneme, and how they get to the dealerships is same question.
Mark Hirasaki Thanks for the response, definitely not the response I was expecting. I’m starting to think maybe some of those cars in the auto racks and destined for the galpin dealership near gemco or even the Keyes dealership.
Yes, Galpin has leading dealerships in many models, and they would have the infrastructure & volume to use Trains with Autorack Cars. I have seen a Graffiti Autorack Car from Oxnard from my VCRR videos in the UP Van Nuys Railroad Yard in another video my mine.
Once the last Autorack Freight Car cleared the major intersection of Wooley Road & S. Oxnard Blvd, the train appeared to pick up speed. Good observation Dominic.
Wow! The west leg of the wye!
Used to Y boxcars off that track.
Keep shooting the VC Mark!
Thank You for Watching, Southern Pacific and Yes, I will find some other locations for VCRR
