      Exactly and it’s funny to see my parents South East Asian friends go up to acquaintances people and ask them things like “why are you sitting here” or “where is your husband?” Which we would normally see as intrusive or not appropriate but it’s normal to ask things like that in Asia as everyone is in a community and not as private

    It was lovely that almost everyone warned the child to be wary about strangers. When the real lesson here is ‘strangers can be very kind’ . How sad that a few nasty people mean we have to scare our children.

    • @Millionaire_vibez
      @Millionaire_vibez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +467

      It’s good to tell children to be wary. The world is cruel and a mean place. Although their are a few nice and generous, kind hearted people. There are also evil, cruel and pedophiles. It’s growing each year. Children especially are the most vulnerable. I’m 23 and I don’t have a child yet but when I do I would always make sure to teach them not to talk to strangers.

      I've seen similar ones where a helpless young man is trying to tie a tie and gets people to help him. Usually there's at least one guy who doesn't know how to tie it himself, but still tries to help. It's good to see these sorts of things. There are some social negatives in some areas of social culture in Asian communities like image honor before truth and justice's. You can tell that hairstyling (and beauty in general) is a very social activity for these women. They got so excited at the opportunity to style the girl's hair and chat a bit. It's like going to a hair salon out in public.
    And for everyone saying "this wouldn't happen in America because America bad", it's not that simple. I think most Americans would tell the girl she looks perfectly fine with her hair down and to not stress about. It's a matter of collectivist vs individualist society. In a collectivist society, everyone would pitch in to help the girl meet societal standards. In an individualist society, there would be more interest in individual expression than group expression...

    I left China when I was probably younger than the child in the video and I hadn't been back in over 2 decades, so this is all very nostalgic. The West is not often kind in their portrayal of this culture and its people but I think the videos you have created speak for themselves, thank you

I find it so beautiful either way like the language, cultural clothing and all it's so wonderful to me I've been passionate about it for so long. Anyways loved the video it was extremely heartwarming and I'm glad there are kind people like them in this world ❤

    I’m 44 and bawling my eyes out. So many times I want to help children, but my own country (America) scares me away from it. I love the respect from these littles, “Grandma, Auntie and Miss”. It’s how I was taught and teach my kids. They call older people Grandma and Grandpa. They’re in their 20’s and still do.

      I’m from America too, I completely understand. You anticipate being stared at weirdly, maybe someone’s parent will snap at you and call the cops or literally get in your face. Someone might videotape you and call you a predator online. It’s not a very welcoming place for random acts of kindness, the culture is perverse about doing anything nice.

      @@Demi.d3mi its for a good reason tho, i completely understand your point, but in america for some reason it seems to be more of a common thing that commotions in the street happen, and sometime even if there's adults forcing children to go places, people wont even bat an eye thinking its not their bussiness.

      If your kids are in their 20s in America calling older people Grandpa and Grandma they will get slapped and deserve it. That's not how people show respect here, and I know you know that. You are either lying or have taught your kids to be punks to old people.
