To me Joshua Graham is the perfect blend of "trying to follow the way of the lord and make up for his past evil" and "we live in a f**king wasteland and someone has to get there hands dirty". He's not a good man and in a way never will be but that doesn't mean he cant do good things while helping people and he knows this and although his evil doings of the past are in the past, i like to believe that when he replaces his bandages and feels unimaginable pain both physically and spirituality, its like all the pain and suffering he caused to others is reflected back at him all at once, and that he uses that to never forget the neverending road of redemption he has set himself on. Truly one of my top 5 best fallout characters and by far the best part of the honest hearts dlc.
That's exactly what we felt while writing this script. I love this character for many reasons, but mainly because, as someone who struggles with my faith, his unwavering dedication is inspiring. Just like Dante in his Devine comedy, a fictional character in a fictional setting can capture hearts with sheer genuine struggles reflected in actions.
This kind of character development is done only by really good writers. Sawyer and Gonzalez got it right. To answer your question, @18:44, I believe: Yes. Absolutely yes. Graham turned his back on God. He was punished severely by Caesar and left to die. Graham hit rock-bottom (literally) and was brought back to life by the ones Graham had abandoned for Caesar. Graham answers your question @18:16. He isn't the same person that was a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse. He isn't the same person that was Caesar's second-in-command. He is a survivor, who runs on faith and skepticism. Graham has labelled the world into three categories: those who believe, the faithless and the lost. He sees himself as a kind, hospitable Christian among those that believe. To the lost, he sees them with a wary eye. To the faithless (or those that don't believe in God), he sees great potential for evil. You don't turn your back on evil. You confront it especially when it threatens family. However, Graham isn't perfect. He is prone to violence and will answer any challenge with lethality. I totally get that. It's the Fallout Apocalypse. Sorry for the long response. God bless and Keep Going! Liked and Subcribed.
Absolutely based character. Man has more plot armor than samurai jack
