    The 3-cyl engine sound is actually quite sporty. The engine also weighs less, has fewer moving parts and less friction. It makes sense. These engines are normally smooth when accelerating, but not as smooth as a 4-cyl at idle.

    VW started as a budget car option for everyone to afford. They clearly lost the plot with their prices these days

      You can still buy a normal Polo tsi...Not R line.
      But yes I agree. Not only Vw but othet car brands have increased prices.
      Like say in 2015 the C220 from Mercedes with all extras costed 700k but now the new C220 2022 model costs 1.2 million with all the extras😭

    Any reason they went with the "old spec" front bumper? VWSA clearing out old stock?

    Actually test drove this a while ago. was curious to see how it feels and if the power delivery was good judging by the specs. it'd a good car but look elsewhere if you thought this might be something that's efficient plus has sent oomph.

    I used to own a 2010 1.4 TSI Jetta comfortline and got on average 800km from 1 full tank (55l) . With this "blue motion" vehicle I barely get 750km from 1 full tank (55l). I do both city and highway riding. Something doesn't make sense, one would expect the 1.0tsi to be more fuel effecient...

    Greetings from Bergvliet, Cape Town. Almost R300000 for a Polo is insain! I would rather stick with the Golf 4/5/6 1.6 petrol and the 1.6l 2002-2009 Polo (pre-facelift) and drive them in a civilised fassion rather than as if they are race cars.

    Comfortline with options is cheaper...then add Software and you outrun all, just remove before dealer visits.
    Bluetooth is standard just the media composition is bigger , but optional on others for not much.

    Problem: Same amount of power as the 1.2 with more torque = higher pressure turbo = TURBO LAG! Probably why they don't want to do it in manual. It would be horrendously slow. Stick to the 1.2 TSI

    Always fairly amusing reading the comments section of any review featuring a new-gen downsized engine. "Rxxx for a 1.x, are you mad?!" Guess what folks: higher boost, lower capacity is where things are heading. Are all aspects of the advancement in technology needed to harvest more power with less input completely lost on the average TH-cam-jockey? Do these jockeys not realise that we'll be living in a better world tomorrow when manufacturers are able to squeeze 100kW out of a 600cc powerplant, instead of 60kW from a 2litre mill as was the case not very long ago? Getting rid of the horribly inefficient internal combustion engine in totality should very clearly be the ultimate goal, but I think we need to be grateful for every incremental advancement in efficiency until we reach that point.

      Many people miss that point Martin, its where we headed and gone are those days where the bigger the engine the higher the kW output. I'm amazed with the comments where people complain of 1 litre engines. I'm driving a Golf 7 Tsi 1 litre and not even a VR6 can match the power and speed. THESE ARE TURBO CHARGED ENGINES PEOPLE!

    • @iamkhanyasakawuli
      @iamkhanyasakawuli 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mino Mtetwa fuel consumption in the real world is dependent on various factors including the overall condition of the car, road conditions and your driving style. You'd have to be a robot driving in a perfect world to achieve any car company's claimed economy. A claimed fuel consumption of 4.4 l/100km should result in 5.5l/100km under conservative conditions, 6.6 l/100km under sporty conditions and 8.8 l/100 km under track-like conditions. Do a little research to improve the condition of your car and your driving style. If you are looking for a car that will achieve closer results in the real world as claimed by the car company, go for a diesel engine.
