Dr. Harris' point about typically impenetrable bronze becoming a home in this case was a good one. I've never seen a sculpture reclaimed by nature like this... The textures makes me want to interact with it so much.
I work with people who live with anxiety all the time. I wonder if they'd agree / relate with Rashid's representation of it, but I love the explanation of callous or respond. That's definitely something I relate to.
"...nature will inhabit every nook, every crevice, and from it, grows life." Talk about it, Dr. Zucker. That's hella deep and beautifully hopeful. ❤
Life and suffering are inextricably linked. This sculpture had so much more meaning than I anticipated. Another Smarthistory hit.

Love your Storm King reviews...and your differences of opinion....very fun to have contrasting, respectful views.... This piece is quite remarkable in that the transfer of a evocative 2D painting to a 3D sculpture was done so well. As a sculptor, I believe, this is a rare occurrence.

I like it! This artwork didn't look familiar, but then I realized that it's been about ten years since I visited Storm King here in the Hudson Valley.
