I was in his concert in Malaysia around early 2019. we screamed PLAY SOME MORE when he was done and leaving but thhen he came back and sang this song, it was about his mom before she died.

No one knows exactly who or what Phum was writing this song about, but this version feels like it was for me and all of us broken people out there.
My girlfriend and I recently broke up. I genuinely could picture this girl in my long-term future. Nothing ever went wrong, but we both moved away to colleges 400 miles away and we just didn’t fit in each other’s plans. It killed me to know that in another life we could’ve had our fairytale ending, but in this life it just wasn’t meant to be. I was a heartbroken mess, letting my grades slip and sobbing over any little reminder of her. I desperately wanted her to show and knock on my door, telling me that we made a mistake. I desperately wanted to travel back to the times when nothing in the world mattered except us. But I also knew that it was time for goodbye.
But after hearing this live version I feel solace because as the song ends, Phum walks up the ramp back into the light as he plays a light-hearted tune. Eventually, I’ll make it up that ramp too.
And to anyone going through something similar to me, I feel you, and we’ll get through this together.

pluto has and always will be the biggest comfort song to me- the somber tune and phum’s voice really make it special and grounding because it feels familiar it feels safe, i’ve never had a song where it’s comforted me as much as this one and i really think that this is a great portrayal of how sincere phum’s voice is- i’ll forever love this song
