I'm glad you talked about the dual plate. I made my own cardboard belt when I was in grade 5 and the way I coloured it, it was dual plated. However just last month I bought a WWE shop replica and it is just gold. When I compared it to my cardboard one I was confused as to why I colored it silver and gold, so I started googling pictures and it's really hard to find a picture with an actual WWF wrestler with a dual plated version. That or it's just hard to tell in pictures . Anyways after seeing these dual plated ones online through various belt makers I now don't like my WWE shop replica because 1. The dual plate looks way better and 2. It's as if my hand drawn cardboard one is more authentic haha! I mean obviously as a kid(I'm 41 now) I saw a dual plated version on someone. I'm just curious how often it was used in comparison to a single plate only gold version.
Bro, I also made a cardboard winged eagle when I was in gr 5 haha, I honestly with I woulkd have kept it! I made it with a light blue globe and always told myself, if i ever get a proper WE I would want the light blue. WEll my friend, I made a video on it, check it out!

I wonder if they’d be able to make “HEAVYWEIGHT” and the WWF logos as relief pieces.
I’m hoping to get one of these next year and I’d feel like those things would make this absolutely perfect for me.

If the wwe would bring this belt back, the wwe title would instantly increase in prestige.
My all time favorite belt growing as a kid in the 80’s and i been wanting this belt for a long time and wwe had a wwf version before but the side bars was never attached like it is now. Also it was 2 mm but they made a master series with the side bars attached to the main plate but it was also screwed to the strap as well, but the asking price was $1500 which i couldn’t afford. But i’m glad they fixed it made it the right way but without the f unfortunately 😢, but i’m cool with that. If you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for it and how long was the wait time?

I always thought it was interesting that the belt Randy Savage wore to the ring at WM5 and the belt Hogan celebrated with at WM5 weren't the same belts. They swapped them out under the time keepers table and Randy got to take the Velcro belt home, Hogan got a copy of the first WE, but with a longer strap and a tighter cut.
Hey Grant, that world relief plate is that true to the original and would you recommend it? Mark.
I believe the original did have the relief world banner, but other versions haven't, it's just a personal preference thing. I definitely love it, I think it adds a nice 3D look.
Relief plate was on the wrestlemania 4 version which also had smaller bars
Relief plate came and went through the years. Not all versions had it, but it has been on the dual plated and all-gold versions of the belt, including the original 1988 version.
I’ve spent a few hours today looking at photos of this belt and yes, some variants of the belt DID have a relief plate but never this size.
Maybe a couple millimetres at best.
It was on the Savage ‘88, Hogan ‘89 and Bret Hart ‘96. None seemed as noticeable as the Savage ‘88 from what I can gather. The others were barely visible.

Great video, and cool belt. 👍 I got my winged eagle WM4 version. HD hand crafted with the two diamonds on the gold tip. Hand etching makes all the difference.
That center plate doesn't have much of a curve...pretty flat

Hey Grant, the million dollar question. I got the exact same belt, but Feb. 2020 rush order. Can you explain if it’s worth the money to re-leather. Cs has really stepped up their leather work. I planned on getting new leather, however; the leather work was so good it kind of doesn’t make sense. Let me know what makes Romeo Anderson work so much better then CS new stamped leather belts. Thx.

I'm look thru many pictures of this belt starting from when Randy Savage first won it in 1988 and I can't see to notice in them that the "WORLD" banner is raised (thick) that much. Was there any versions of that one carried by any wrestlers from 88-98. I have yet to notice any.

Hulk Hogan lost the belt to Andre then Andre give the belt to Ted Dibiase.
The belt was dual plate nut sure about the relief world piece.

I was just speaking to classic shields they sent me photos and apparently they told me the wing eagle is now a Reggie Parks replica
So at the bottom of it showed the 2003 copyright Regie Parks Trademark.
I think I'll order this in a few months and put my future elite series wwe champ title on hold. This belt looks to beautiful.
the "reggie parks replica" is something that got put on real winged eagles offered to the public about 20 years ago.
They do hand crafting on the eagle now , really makes a big difference
Are you still satisfied with the belt today? Does it show any signs of wear? And how would you rate the leather now?
The side lates are starting to look a little rough. And since I’ve had straps prepared by other folks, their leather is subpar. But overall, still satisfied.

I always wondered why on Randy Savage’s belt, Heavyweight was not painted black. I wonder if Vince did that because if his size, as we all know he prefers bigger guys representing his titles. I also think it sucks that Randy had to wear a belt that for one, didn’t fit him as he was holding it for Hogan, and was held on him with Velcro, and the WWF plate did not say champion, rather it said HULK HOGAN. That would have bugged him, I would have thought. But as we know, he was consummate professional and did what was right for business. To me, Randy Savage will always be the true first champion to wear the winged eagle, as he won it at WM4 through to WM5.
The original winged eagle had the all gold heavyweight banner, even when Hogan had it. They didn’t change it just for Savage. I always loved Savage too.

I wonder if they changed it to black after Perfect wrecked the first one. But you’re right, I googled a few more images of him and sure enough, the banner is gold.
I just watched the vid where perfect destroys Hogan’s first belt, which is the dual plate and no black banner and then watched the vid of him getting his new belt and it is all gold with the black banner. Funny.
@@phoenixblack1220 They made 2 winged eagles right away, gave one to Hogan and one to Savage. Savage altered his because the strap was too large. He sliced part of it off. Then he got a second belt, this one with "heavyweight" painted. That's the velcro belt, aka WE 2.0. The swap between those two belts happened at Mania 5. The belt Randy wore to the ring and the belt hogan celebrated were two different belts. Hulk's was back to the no black heavyweight version. That's the one Mr. Perfect broke.

Relative to most replicas, it was indeed pretty expensive. But relative to buying an officially licensed real belt, it wasn’t too bad.

Nah, it was dual plated until right after Mania 6 when Warrior got his colored strap versions.

Mine took about a year, but that was unusual. And you'll need to ask them directly about the price.

Did you go with standard 4mm thick plates? I was thinking about going with 3mm to save some money
Yeah mine are 4mm. I think they’re doing a lot of the 3mm these days, a lot of folks are saying the original was 3mm.

How often did you ask or feel like it was appropriate to ask for an update on your belt?
It would depend on what stage of the process it was in and what kind of time estimate they’d given me when last we’d spoken, but in general, Id usually message them every couple of weeks.

I would just stay after them. If i hadn’t gotten a reply for a few days, I’d send another message. You definitely have to be patient, their communication game isn’t exactly on point.
