Lord raise more men like Ravenhill in our wicked generation. The problem of our days is that we as churches have abandoned prayer meetings. We go to church for one hour and we rush home without even giving much of our service to prayer. We have a very superficial life and prayer and because of this is we must make our programs attractive so people will come. As he mentioned here we have become a mediocre church. Lord stirs us again and send revival!
I wish we had more pastors like Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, Paul Washer, Wigglesworth, Wesley, Murray, Surgeon and other old time pastors. Pastors today need to get a backbone and start preaching repentance, correction, conviction, discipline and judgement. People now a days they go to church to be entertained, hear two fast songs, two slow songs, a ten minute message, a three line sinners prayer and leave the same way they came. They came in going to hell and they leave the same way on their way to hell.
We have some but they are hidden away, not in the mainstream churches, many in home fellowships and very few in small churches but sadly the word of the Lord is rare in our time, but God has His remnant hidden and He knows them and they know Him and they hear His voice and He is coming to get us soon.
Something by the grace of God is changing in me. My desires are changing, I'm not entirely sure how this happened but I am greatful for it. I pray I can endure to the end and pray for you all also:, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Rejoice for your redemption drawth nigh

Just come across this video.. Back in my young days of being a new Christian, I learned a lot from Leonard ravenhill.. Us being English and both from Yorkshire.. Hard life.. He taught me biblical sound stuff straight from the word.. And I was convicted by the word several times.. After several years in the wilderness and backsliding.. Leonard was one of the first Christian brothers God brought me back to.. His word first obviously.. Followed by great teachers.. His sermons used to make me run to the word.. A great man of God.. What a Godly man of God,I live only 30 minutes from where he ministerd,and lived,I preach on the streets he walk on,and cities he preached in,O for another Godly man,to Grace the UK with the Gospel of peace.
It’s true the churches have lost there way because the shepherd lost his way, but not all. I live in the Bible Belt. For a time when I was trying to find a home church I became so disappointed. They were dead, no power. Now I am old and disabled. I know many Christians do not attend church anymore but you have to have church at home. On the sabbath I listen to my favorite pastor online. I have a playlist of my favorite hymns, I sing along. We must read and study the word of God everyday combined with prayer and just talking to our heavenly daddy all the time about everything. Church can be saddening. I've been to so many dead churches. But I've decided to keep going to the most biblical one I can find and persist in being salt and light where I can.
Churches here in northern Ohio are closing up. Two of them closed last week after over 100 years. I attended one at its last service and a lady gave a history of the church and she said the church heyday was in the 50s and 60’s and she continued that it peaked in 1969 and declined after that. Due to folks aging and the inability to afford to keep the place open, they closed their doors. I asked what will come of the church building? I was told it may be torn down to make room for a parking lot for the ice cream shop next door or perhaps turned into restaurant. I guess ice cream and food are more important to folks these days.

You should read "Why Revival Tarries?" and read his biography. . . He influenced David Wilkerson and his last recommendation was to instill Pastor Carter Conlon at Times Square Church.
He also influenced Pastor Dean Odle, the most prolific Pastor of our generation, besides Pastor Bill Randles who just passed away, a sight precious to the God of Jacob.

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
