About Leonard Ravenhill
Born in Leeds, in Yorkshire, England, Ravenhill was educated at Cliff College in England and sat under the ministry of Samuel Chadwick. He was a student of church history, with a particular interest in Christian revival. His evangelistic meetings during the Second World War drew large crowds. Many converts devoted themselves to Christian ministry and foreign missions.
In 1939, he married an Irish nurse, Martha. The Ravenhills had three sons: Paul, David, and Philip. Paul and David are Christian ministers, and Philip is a teacher.
In 1950, Ravenhill and his family moved from Great Britain to the United States. In the 1960s they traveled within the United States, holding tent revivals and evangelistic meetings.
In the 1980s, Ravenhill moved to a home near Lindale, Texas, a short distance from Last Days Ministries Ranch. He regularly taught classes at LDM and was a mentor to the late Keith Green. He also spent some time teaching at Bethany College of Missions in Minnesota, and some time in Seguin, Texas.
Among others influenced by Ravenhill were Ray Comfort, Ravi Zacharias, Tommy Tenney, Steve Hill, Charles Stanley, Bill Gothard, Paul Washer, and David Wilkerson.
He was a close friend of pastor and writer A. W. Tozer.
Through his teaching and books, Ravenhill addressed the disparities he perceived between the New Testament Church and the Church in his time and called for adherence to the principles of biblical revival.

He is sure, this man of God’s grave is in Garden Valley, Texas and the headstone reads exactly what he stated. I loved there 4 and a half years and visited the gravesite a few times to pray and remind myself of the fact that my life is but a vapor and what am I living it for. Ravenhill has a sermon called what is your life that I recommend all believers listen to. Grace and Peace

The dying thief died before Jesus resurrection, so he didn't die under the New Covenant. But he was part of captivity led captive.

He is teaching so well and it's so sad that few people are commenting on petty issues like tongues instead of concentrating on the main matter. Its funny how some love to find faults in one way or another just for the sake of it instead of understanding the heart of this lovely message. We need more Ravenhills today.

Sinners are comfortable in society because "Saints are relaxed to have a nice car an education that society respects a home etc etc. But ye have your reward and those are the things that Satan controls. He is the god of this world and all that the world is made up of is those things. Don't be fooled all things will be burned up except that which is in Christ.

Thanks, got an answer to prayer from this, was praying and praying, felt compelled to listen, my answer was in this sermon.
I’m an agnostic ex evangelical who had a born again experience caused by a bipolar manic episode but I still love listening to this man. He’s the only preacher that still moves me. You don’t see men of faith like him alone. The pulpits are full of weakened stand up comedians and it makes me sick. My pastor said at the beginning of his sermon “I hope we get out of here by noon”. I got tears in my eyes because I could never say that if I believed I was standing in presence of God with the duty to share his gospel with lost souls in danger of hell. I wanted to yell “how dare you”! It’s stuff like that played a part in my leaving the faith. If the spirit of an infinitely holy God gets into a man everyone would know it. But so many people have the exact same testimonies but there is difference between them and the world. I think each Christian has a personal God they’ve formed in their image.

Alot of preachers today have gave way to the world and left God's word.

Before the Rapture of the Church, there will be a great falling away (in the Greek - APOSTASY) The dear Ravenhills are LONG gone.. all we have left in 99% of the visible church is APOSTASY. You're FAR better off to get into your own Bible and read and study and learn as we're told in 2 Timothy 2:15 --and do not be deceived, as Jesus said at least four times: be SURE you are reading the ONLY Living Word -- The King James Bible.. the Alexandrain Text are corrupt, and they make up the Bible "versions", which even STEAL Christ's deity..
OH 2 more things --I didn't put that line there, YT did, and Graham is apostate as well.. The more you know.. To gain discernment, you MUST get into the word of God.

I have no idea where Billy Graham is but I do know that he sent people back into the Roman church and I saw a picture of him kneeling down and kissing the Popes ring. He also said that the Pope was the worlds greatest evangelist. 🤷♀️🤦♀️

I have YET to hear any individual or church admit and repent of being Laodicean. It always someone else, it is always another church; it is never us or "my church."
The American Church has no idea that Christ is outside. It plays with entertainment inside the walls while believing it's on fire.
The gate is always open for this church. It allows the lukewarm to choose when it gets hot and when it gets cold. It is never satisfied to either side.
Examine yourselves.

Oh the Lord judges today, no different than the days of Paul. When Paul called judgment in the name of the Lord Christ Jesus upon the man in Corinth for having his father's wife...the church today is dead and God is judging, famines, fires, floods, bitter cold the Lord is sending from the north, oh the Lord is judging today and His judgment will continue to be more severe as we feel His mighty hand press down upon us. Problem is, the pride of the church will not repent and humble themselves to the Lord. God be glorified, to Him be the glory forevermore amen in the precious name of the Lord Christ Jesus 🕇

How does he know all these great men never prayed in tongues. Ravenhill says he has so much respect for St. Paul yet Paul said that he prayed in tongues more than any man. So how would we know that other than he said so?
What is the next verse after the one you quoted.
"I know how to pray in tounge more than anyone, but .... "
The gist of what he is actually saying is tongues is not the only evidence of being filled with Holy Spirit. It's one of the gifts. So that's not the only way to win people to Christ.
Tongues are foreign languages.. that is clear in Acts 2 - the list of the nations whose tongues the Disciples could speak is right there in Acts 2. 2 Timothy 2:15

Him saying that not everyone in the Body of Christ is the Bride, I just can't agree with that.
In the bible it says BLESSED are those that are here during the 1000 year reign with Jesus here on earth. Which means not all that are saved will be on earth during the time of Jesus. Hard one to understand but also remember there will be people born during that time that will actually die because they do not have incurrutible bodies but God says that death will have no power over them.
Not everyone who claims the Name of Jesus Christ IS the Bride.

He's not wrong. That's biblical. We are why too concerned about tongues then the lost.
Tongues are good they uplift the spirit empowering you
1 Corinthians 13:10 shows us that tongues and prophecy is done once that which is perfect is come. The Bible is that perfect thing that caused tongues to cease.
The Lord gave me tongues at the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The ONLY people that say they are not for today are those who DONTspeak in tongues.
