Back in 2015 I went to a Giants/Padres game in San Diego and sat next to a die hard Giants fan who had bought Pence's jersey he was wearing this game and he let me try it on for a picture. It even had the fence marks on it.
That year Vogelsong was throwing 90-92 on a good day and this game he was pumping 93-94 the first few innings. Old man had some extra adrenaline that night
He did that in 2012 too. Early that year it was around 92-95, but towards the end, he seemed fatigued and thats why his ERA was bad towards the end of that season. Come playoff time, he was pumped, especially in the NLCS and was easily runner up for NLCS MVP.
The Giants starters not named Bumgarner were gassed getting to the postseason. The fact the team got 36 innings from not-Bumgarner and went 3-0 in those games vs the #1 seed was amazing.
@@RDSports5 I think a lot had to do with minor league hitters being called up too frequently. They slowed it down and more hitters could hit breaking pitches. The ball was definitely juiced, which added to it, but theres been a rise in much better players.
Bumgarner pitched really well, just couldn’t hit Fister worth shit like most that year. This was probably the hardest series that year with how dominant the Nats’s rotation and bullpen was.

That man gave us everything he possibly could for us, “Rally Vogey” should be a phrase remembered forever
12:54 - this is exactly why you should have to throw 4 pitches to intentionally walk someone
Not to mention that one time Miguel Cabrera had an RBI single on an intentional ball that got too close to the plate.

Love these videos. Best Giants highlights of their playoff runs I've ever found.
True definition of small ball was this win. I miss these days of the MLB where it wasn't 11-10 and everyone hits homers.

good pitching and bad catchers
Whelp, I guess you got what you wanted...
@@walrusnation2496 not like this 😭😭
Despite winning, I still don’t get Bochy putting Strickland out in the 7th when Affeldt was our 7th or 8th inning guy in close games.
@9:15 "AND HE MAKES THE CAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAATCH!"
Bochy was great. Thank you for uploading these videos. Awesome job editing these games!
Nine hits. Nine singles. Amazing.
I miss the shiny helmets
Thanks for posting these. What a great time it was.
Loving these videos, but I don't know why out number two of the ninth inning isn't there.
I'd like to point out that the Giants won this series without MadBum
Peavy, Hudson, Vogelsong all delivered, and especially Petit.

Where is the 2nd out in the top of the 9th?
18:07 “I will beat you up next time Center Field Camera. Next Time!”
They predicted Dusty would be the Nationals manager shortly after this.
12:45 I want to know what’s the song when they scored
Hey Baby- Pitbull, thats what it sounds like
12:55 was on purpose?
dont think so
