Chinese technology is progressing fast with new modifications as compared to Russians. Russian Technology may be preferred only in case of TOT to Pakistan which will lead towards self reliance and a strong base for Domestic needs as well as Export Orders.
Pakistan should ask Russia for TOT because we have bought this engine in great amount. And if Russia did not give us TOT then we should go with Chinese engine.

Unless there is an extraordinary changes the Chinese engine provides, I strongly think PAF will stick with RD93MA. Here is why 1) logistics. PAF has already bought some many components, and spare parts and to waist money on acquiring new engines and parts dose not make sense. 2) Financial: Again, paying for so much equipment and then switching over is not a great idea. One can argue they can sell the parts, but PAF can not be sure who will want to buy and if they will pay full price or they to make a deal and ask PAF for a discount rate. 3) Experience/knowledge: PAF has aquired so much knowledge and experience about this engine that it does not makes sence to start the whole process all over again. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the RD93 was used from the beginning all the way back in 2000s. This is 20+ of knowledge and experience gained. Especially if the Chinese engine is close to or exactly the same as the RD-93MA.

RD93MA must be upgraded to 130 thrust with improved service life.
