Thank you for your great advice, especially regarding tailgaters. People can be pushy but it’s not worth letting them pressure you into going faster, especially in dangerous conditions! Also, it’s important to keep cold weather survival gear in your car such as extra layers, hand warmers, and snacks. I’m new to your channel and love your content and how knowledgeable you are about cars:)
@@schmechel6888 i had no idea ppl did this on the road lol. I will find a big parking lot and slide my 03 Tahoe around on the ice. super fun but terrifying for any occupants in the vehicle. Also, it helps to know how to correct if I accidentally drift on the road.
You are the master of soft spoken ASMR and it's so natural and effortless. I am new to your channel and love your voice! Thank you and please keep making more of these amazing videos!
I'm so glad. I used to find that occasionally when my sons would quietly drive their cars around the floor. The quiet part didn't happen often though. lol Thanks for watching and commenting!!
If the sliding advice doesn't make sense i would reccommend that you find a big empty parking lot and purposefully slide your car to learn how to correct it. Also its pretty fun. :)
californian here who has hardly as much as touched snow lol so this was very informative and fun! love the conversational and comfy style of your videos, keep up the awesome stuff :)
The trick to driving in winter weather is flooring it everywhere you go so your tires spin faster, it melts the snow on the ashphalt, and you get better traction!!
As someone who is from Southern Ontario you being from Michigan I do think we are pros at this. However, I learnt some stuff that i didn’t know either or forget to do.
You do get a feel for it the more you drive in it. If the roads were empty, I'd feel (somewhat) fine about driving, it's the other drivers that worry me!
I wish they would present this information in driver's ed down here. I swear people in North Carolina forget how to drive when it rains, let alone when ice falls from the sky.
When I lived in Arizona it hardly rained so when it did the oils that were on the road for months would float to the surface and make super slick spots that cars would slip and slide on - people really couldn’t handle it there. 😂
Thank you for the advice, I live in Canada and there’s a big snowstorm heading our way too. I just got my license and my first car. I’ve never driven in snow before so this is very helpful
I have lived in CA all my life and although a two/three hour drive to snowy mountains, I have never been to or experienced snow! So this is all brand new info to me so thank you. Today before work there was a layer of ice on my windshield and I didn’t know how to handle that 😂 I used rubbing alcohol cuz I seen that on TikTok haha
Was that effective? I've never tried it - I'm not on TikTok (should I be?). Just don't get the alcohol on your car paint - I think that could mess up the clear coat. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for this, I'm a Calisotan (from cali, live in mn) and appreciate these good reminders. A video idea is if you could go over emergency kits... for in the car fir winter driving, and in homes for storm power outages? 😮
I’m moving to Minnesota and have been looking at tips a lot. I’ve heard from most people that snow tires are worth switching to in the winter season bc all seasons don’t cut it in the northern winter. I’ve also heard AWD is great, but most people say tires are more important. I’m from STL so we get a decent amount of snow typically, but nothin compared to northern winters. I love the snow though.
Thanks for this, I didn't know any of it as in my area we only get light frosts. Always been scared I'll have to drive somewhere cold and have no clue what to do!
Another little tip just a bit of general info that’s not always correct but if you have less than a pinky nails worth of tread on your tires you should start to think about purchasing some new ones. Also, if you notice specifically only one side either the inside or the outside of the tire is wearing, you need to rotate your tires. Look it up.
I have lived in Michigan my whole life. Where I live in Flint is expected like 7 inches of snow. I absolutely hate snow i hate driving in it, I hate snow blowing, the only thing snow and ice is good for is snow days, but since I'm an adult those don't exist. So it serves no purpose to me ....with all that being said this video was awesome and relaxing and full of alot of great tips 😂
What about the first moments after a snowfall to go for a near silent magical walk - that’s the moment I love snow the most. Then it gets all muddy and icy and slushy - yuck. Thanks for watching!! ❄️❄️❄️
A truck is extra hard to handle. I feel like I remember people putting weight in the beds to give it more equal weight - I don’t know, maybe that not right. Anyway, you got this! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@Nofrillsasmryes that’s exactly right! People buy bags of sand to put in the bed for the extra weight on the axle and if you need to you can cut a bag open and use it for traction
I made a video a few months ago with these cars, but I didn't now to sit close to the microphone yet. lol So it's pretty quiet. I have lots more cars around, so I will try to do one soon. Thanks for the idea!
I would just like to make it very clear it is very, very important to warm up your car no matter what year make model brand it is. It is 100% necessary every time. If you don’t let it warm up the oil inside of your engine, can’t reach the top and you risk causing borring out your pistons or even worse damage in the engine
@@beanreview5803 I had always heard this too, but I believe opinions are changing on this topic. They say you don’t need too. Its interesting. I still warmed mine up today, old habits die hard.
I went to school in Northern England, my Math teacher always counted with Mississippies. Although apparently he did have a wife from Tennessee so perhaps that influenced it.
IMO it should be a mandatory part of your driving test that you know how to control a slide.. On a wet surface at the very least. Its not a difficult thing to learn and it would go a long way
I wish they would take an empty parking lot and throw up a bunch of sprinklers to make a slick surface for practice. That'd be cool. Thanks for the comment!
I've never used snow tire, I bet it's great. I have bought a used car and accidentally ended up driving on some bald tires, that is not great. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Yes! I forgot to say that. Always good to carry some water, food, a thermal blanket, boots, hat, and gloves!
No one has a soft spoken voice as nice as yours and I’ve been watching asmr for years!
Wow, thank you! That is a very kind thing to say and I really appreciate it.
Linda, this has become one of my favorite channels. I love your content. Keep up the great work
Thank you!! Will do!
Snow and Ice, the drifting's nice! I drive a Subaru, so anytime there is snow or ice I try to drift corners as much as I can safely lol
You know those people you slide past with the big grins on their faces? I’m one of those 😊❤😂

Here in Switzerland almost everybody has 2 set of wheels. In the winter you simply cant drive here without ;)
Switzerland is a place I really want to get to - I bet it’s beautiful there! Thanks for the comment. ❄️
Great advice Linda, if only every driver was as sensible as you our roads would be a lot safer.
There was a time I may have called current me a nerd, but once you have kids your thoughts on safety change. Thanks for much for the comment!
Use snow tires instead of all seasons if you live in a snowy region. Completely worth the hassle of switching in fall and spring. Great tips overall!
Sound advice! Thanks much for watching and commenting!!

How hilly is Minnesota? If it's hilly where you're moving, I'd consider both AWD or 4wd and snow tires. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I like to put cardboard on my windshield prior to the storm. Then when it hits I just take the cardboard off

Good morning. Great advice. Would you be able to take pictures of your tires and do asmr with them that way, please?
Sorry, I don't have a capabilities to do that. Thanks for watching.
