Hi, thanks so much for this video. I still can't get the lid to go down far enough to twist into place. Is it just strength (which I don't have) or a trick to it? You make it look so easy. Help!
Highly would not recommend unless you want to clean it off every time Vaseline gets very yucky after months or years. One tube in link in comments of magic lube will last you forever! a little bit goes a long way!
After a filter clean has been done (grid/cartridge) is there an easy way to close the top of the filter tank so it comes all the way down to the o ring? Most filters that I clean, I have issues with the top filter lid coming “flat down” to the o ring. (New o rings have been placed). One of my clients has a Pentair Quad DE filter and when I close his lid, there’s like a “spring” that prevents it from closing down all the way. What do you recommend so that the top filter tank stays down so I can place the filter clamp on?
thanks for the video, I had thought the more gel the better. Actually the good steps are: clean gel and dirt off --> put on O ring --> apply small amount of gel at outer edge which contact the top cover
So my black inner support has the arrow for the inlet facing the outlet. Do i have to rotate the entire filter or can I move that part into thebcorrect orientation? I dont want to break it
I have a Hayward filter prior this was all Hayward. I'm experiencing something that I never have. The filter is constantly loosening up. I mean it may take weeks sometimes but I've never had this issue before. I walked out to see my water level low thinking that the skimmer was starting to leak again but found the filter was loose again and a good amount of water had come out. The threads are perfect no issues there. Has anyone had this issue?
@@PoolCareWorld No mine has no rod my old one did. This one tightens to the lower half of the filter directly. There’s a latch that’s squeezed then you can loosen or tighten the filter. When you have it tight you can let the latch go and it should click in place where it shouldn’t move until you remove it again.
@foreverwood1963 ohh okay makes sense sorry I was confused thought you were talking about your filter now was a Hayward. On the Pentair filter I would see if there a reason for the vibration causing it. But the black band the push tabs on the bottom once you hear those click when you screw it on and hear the clicks stop spinning if you tighten it anymore you’re over tightening it
I cannot get the damn lid off. I turn off the pump. Release the air valve. I take the the ring off, and I just cannot get that lid off. It's like it's krazy glued on there.
I'm not liable for any injuries anyone incurs and proceed at your own risk. This is a dangerous way to remove it, but it's worked for me. Loosen up the lock rings, clamps, etc. and turn on the pump. Be ready to shut off the pump when the lid pops off. Voila.
@@PoolCareWorld The company who built our pool told us that the filter should be cleaned every week. I've been doing that. The filter is pretty dirty every time. It's a 15.000 gallon pool. One pool guy said that by cleaning the filter often (every week) I will damage it which I don't agree with. I will change the filter every year regularly anyway
Yes nothing wrong with that if you’re okay with that keep up the hard work! Do you have a pool cleaner in the pool? If so everything your vacuum vacs up will be going to the filter so the cleaner the filter the best it will work. It is true the more you clean it the quicker your west bands break and I’ve heard countless times that a slightly dirty filter will filter better not sure if it’s true or not lol we service over 200 pools and clean almost all filters monthly and quarterly for the quad filters.
@@PoolCareWorld 🤔. Cleaner filter works better. Like in a vacuum cleaner 😁. I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Sending good vibes 🌴

Question, I can use Vaseline to lube it up? That's all I have at hand. Thanks for your time 🙏

Do you have a suggestion on how to remove the cartridge from the cartridge core? It is very difficult for me to get it apart? Thank you!

Less is more exactly 👍
I followed your instructions, and the leaks appeared to have stopped. Thank you

Hmm you will know if it’s actually backwards because the inside of filter will clog is that what’s happening?

When you say losing up are you talking about the rod inside the filter?

Mine to. No answer yet.

In your opinion, how often should the filter be cleaned?
If your filter is the correct size for the pool and has been replaced in the last year then once a month is perfectly fine 👍🏻

I just cleaned and lived and it's still leaking. New o ring? Or try again? Actuality I'll do both.
Was the oring expanded? Maybe filter overtightened stop spinning band after clicks
What brand us the lube, the lid of my filter is really hard to remove
Magic lube Link is in description (:
