- Procreate Dreams for Beginners - Animating an Underwater Scenery
In this beginners tutorial, I show you how to animate an underwater scene with a turtle using the brand new app Procreate Dreams.
We will discover different features of the app, learn to add movements, anchor points, color dynamics and music to our animation.

I love this tutorial. I haven't done animation before so I can't wait to try and recreate this. I have been trying to learn to paint horses, but there aren't many procreate tutorials on them. Would you consider making a horse tutorial?
I could be wrong but could you have animated the flippers and the body then grouped all three and then move the turtle across the screen?
This was amazing. I was still thinking if I should start the animations in dreams or not since I am a total beginner to it. But this tutorials was super helpful and easy to get it and decided to start with dreams!!

Great video :) You can import your procreate brushes by dragging the brush from procreate and drop it into dreams
That two line tune you sing right through would make a nice chorus.

Can you tell me if there is a way to change the speed of bubbles? I mean If I want the bubbles to rise really fast is there any setting by which I can do it rather than manually dragging my ipencil?

Yes you are right. You can import Procreate brushes, by dragging them via split screen window from Procreate or files folder, but there’s no button to import them directly, like in Procreate.
@@Tatyworks is there a point though when you can simply drag and drop
Wonderful illustrations and animation tutorial! One comment I would have is that if you group the flippers with the turtle so you can move them all together to avoid any sync problems. I first animated the flippers rotation, then stretched the neck to sync with those movements and then finally moved the whole group as a whole. It's much easier than trying to keep time with the first movement!
Thank you so much! ❤️ Yes, that's another way to do that. But I actually didn't group them on purpose so they wouldn't be in sync. It just looked more cute and cartoony :)

This is a really useful tutorial. Thank you! By the way - I saw another tutorial today where they mentioned that although you can’t modify brushes in Procreate Dreams, you can modify brushes in Procreate and then import them into Procreate Dreams. I haven’t tried this yet, so maybe you can respond to this comment and let me know if it works for you. Thanks for such a clear set of instructions. It was great to see all the different examples of methods you used to animate your cute turtle and other denizens of the deep!

@@Tatyworks Thank you so much for your reply. The split screen is an unsung hero for this app, especially when so many new Dream users already have multi-layered projects in the original Procreate. It’s bringing new life to some of my old Procreate projects and I’m very happy with everything I’m seeing it’s capable of so far. Thanks again for sharing your process. I’ll be watching this video again and again for tips!

It would be wonderful - but I cannot convert the pictures in layers, I have an iPad Pro - 2nd Generation. My screen cannot be made into 2000x2500. I seem to be limited?
I'm a bit confused with this, 3:51 when I hold down on the track it doesnt have the 'convert tracks into layers' it just says layerr options
I still don’t understand, why there is need to set a duration time 🤔 In my head, the video takes the time that is needed 🤔

Guys, when I import layered graphic from Procreate to Procreate Dreams it's imported as flat, all the layers are lost :( I saw in other videos that you can import layered file and work on layers in draw mode but it doesn't happen like that in my app, is this some kind of bug?
Hey, instead of exporting an entire Procreate file, you can try to open Procreate dreams app and Procreate on the side as a split screen, and drag layers one by one from Procreate to Procreate dreams, they will be imported as individual tracks.
but that's not what I want to do. Look here: th-cam.com/video/hzbmlyGDJO4/w-d-xo.html at 10:35, he pastes whole file and then in the drawing mode it's viewed as one file with layers, not one file split to many tracks as layers, and I need to have it not on separate tracks but the same as he: layered drawing on one track, and in my Dreams it's impossible, don't know why@@Tatyworks

@@Tatyworks lol when I first watched this I had it on silent with subtitles on. At the part when you say new drawing the subtitle said WQ drawing, though I was missing out on some kind of new drawing. Too funny 😂

I can’t find convert drawings into tracks option.
After you import a Procreate file into Procreate dreams it’ll appear as a track named Drawing. Just tap and hold somewhere on the track with the drawing and a menu will pop up. Among other actions you will see Convert layers to tracks there
