Dubas is definitely trying to win this year. 10:09. The core is still intact and he's added low risk, high reward type of depth with guys like Glass, Beauvillier, Puljujarvi, Hayes while getting picks for the future at the same time. That's great work even though he still needs to get a star to replace Guentzel
I’d love nothing more than for this team to surprise me and everyone else. As far as the bottom six goes, I’m more open to a trade involving Eller because he’d be the best as far as value is concerned. I’d love it if they traded Acciari even it’s just for a 6th rd pick. *edit: I couldn’t help but jump in on the offer sheet to Robertson. I’d love to see the meltdown in Toronto if Dubas would do it. 😂😂
I think the takeaway isn't that offer sheets should be the new norm. I think GMs need to think about RFAs like the do UFAs and sign them or trade them ahead so they don't risk losing them.
I love this trade for cody glass! He has potential just hasnt put it all together yet. I think the chance of him being a superstar as predicted back in 2017 is over, i think he has 3c potential. Reminds me of nick bonino a lil. Not a superstar when pens traded for him but a very major part of 2016 and 2017 cup wins. They definitely need to move a player or 2 out via trade. Eller could maybe fetch a 2nd round pick from the right contender. The draft picks are piling up which i like. The prospect pool is gonna be deep by 2027. Just hope they hit on some of those picks.
Dubas do it, just to annoy To fans, please do it🤭, I am really liking what Dubas is doing just look how entertaining this off season just with some low risk moves. If these guys cant get the mojo going playing alongside the core 4 they should just quit hockey now
Regarding goaltending prospects involved in trades who do you think Dubas would be most likely to move? Obviously Blomqvist is untouchable because he is the most NHL ready and most likely to be their starter one day, so that leaves Gauthier, Murashov, and Larsson as the notable ones that could be moved. My guess would be Gauthier because he feels like the odd one out (he has a lower ceiling than the other goaltending prospects and is likely stuck in the ECHL with us despite being worthy of another look in the AHL).
I would say one of Gauthier or Larsson but they just signed the latter over the summer so probably the former if I had to pick one? He has nothing left to prove in the ECHL
The Dubas Toronto offer sheet is not the type of bad personal KARMA we need. Stan Bowman has weird karma. You saw what happened to Stan Bowman because Dubas conspired to send the picks to the Blues to make the RFA deals happen. Toronto is funny but to personal. I'll say no. With that being said I'd be all over youtube watching Toronto videos and trolling for Dubas if it happened for fun.
Yeah Dubas is only making low risk moves and stockpiling as many draft picks as possible. He might never outright say it, but he's rebuilding. Honestly I think it's the right move, this team is not even close to a contender, and a few years from now Yager and Howe and whoever else will be ready and hopefully the Pens will be competitive again.
Dubas? Why do the Penguins have 6 centers? 1. Crosby 2. Malkin 3. Hayes 4. Eller 5. Lizotte 6. Glass. I would of signed speedy winger Dylan Holloway instead. I don't know how good Cody Glass is. I can only look at his stats. 2023: 72 games, 14 Goals, 21 assists, 35 points. If he's a center then at least he's better than Jeff Carter. Dubas trades the Blues pick back making it possible to sign Broberg and Holloway. Why not just sign speedy Holloway to the Pens?
Offer sheet Robertson! It would be awesome!
As for Eller, don't you think a guy like that has more trade value at the deadline?
I can definitely see that, but it still feels like something may have to get done before the season with this logjam

a nice fu to bowman we helped to gift wrap, noice
P.s. soooooo worth it
Oh absolutely, I hope he screws it up big time

that 3rd round pick is wild pick which that pick is really gonna be high i think

Frasca trade I'm okay with getting back more picks in return and with a prospect with decent NHL experience in the system from that.
Trade Eller. I want to see Ponomarev in the NHL.
Get rid of Rakell, leave one top 6 spot for all those bottom 6ers to strive for and add Robertson . Easy
Are you a troll? 😅

Hey guys.......What about Patrik Laine?? Too much money, too many off ice issues?? If Dubas does more?
I’d love it but they’d have to work around his cap hit
I think it would be exciting for the potential but ultimately disappointing.

hey guys hit the like button!!!
that’s RIGHT
I did🙋
Pat, Dubas doesn’t need to trade a goalie prospect, he needs to trade Jarry. Should never have signed him to that contract
Yes, that’s obviously the big one but I don’t see any takers for him right now, which is the thing. Everyone feels super set at the position
