Mostly all the superhero suits look like this, they tighten and shape them in post production. I saw some behind the scenes video's of Marvel movies and the suits were all baggy and loose during filming, but not in the movie.

This new suit makes me appreciate Cavill’s suit in MoS even more than I already did. That suit (though too muted) is an absolute work of art. It got way over the top with the fake shiny muscles in the follow up films but MoS was perfection. It was regal and otherworldly and just straight up badass. David’s suit is NOT my cup o tea. Looks like ill fitting stiff foam and cheap plastic to me. I’m a Superman fanatic (film more-so than comics) so of course I won’t be able to resist seeing this buttttt… well here’s to hoping things look more impressive on film than in these pics.
What fake shiny muscles are you talking about? Cavil is way more jacked than Corenswet so I don't think he needed padding. Shazam definitely had fake muscles but I didn't see that with Cavil.
DC bein so focused on the logo and looks they dont have focus on a good intriguing storyline. DC is weak on this department. Stories that are engaging make up good films, DC pls stop doing short cuts, do your films right and the money will come.
Honestly I still like the Man Of Steel suit more. I am really unsure of this one right now, but we will see how it looks in the movie. I am a huge Superman fan and It will be pretty much a day one for me.

The suit is still baggy, it should be fitted to his body. One of Superman's main features to his look is his physic, this suit doesn't emphasize that because it's not form fitted to him. It's also still bunching up in places it shouldn't. I don't hate the look of the suit itself. I like the New 52 inspired theme, but Superman's suit just shouldn't be baggy in the least bit. So I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. Let's see what it looks like on film.

Not sure why, since Mr. Gunn went with a more classic suit, but didn't go with the Christopher Reeve version. It looks better and would have been a great opportunity to pay homage to such an iconic actor in that role. But instead, he went with the J Crew V-neck and that suit emblem.. This new suit is starting to grow on me. I really like the color palette. It reminds me of NASCAR clothing or what they wear when racing sports motorcycles. As for Lois Lane, she looks freaking fantastic!!😃 FINALLY, a Lois Lane that looks like Lois Lane! Love her in the purple.

To me the suit looks a bit more... tactical. Like the Flash, and Batman's more rigid and less form fitting, also interesting they went with that design of the "S". not a bad look, but... I'm hating his look as Clark Kent, though I guess it's a better disguise? I personally have never seen the point of trunks/underwear on any suit. Not in the old/original designs and comics, not now. That being said, i just hope the story is compelling.
The best explanation I can give for the trunks is that you should think of the whole costume like a traditional Kryptonian clothing It’s basically Superman wearing a kilt if he was Scottish

Looks a bit like bike leathers. The colour is great. If they'd have gone with a suit design similar to Rouths, but with these colours, it would have been perfect.
I tried telling people from very beginning that first image wouldnt be official suit we'll see him in and Superman's suit in first image was burnt stained, after a battle presumably. Gunn gave a poll about whether or not to include the trunks and more people voted on including trunks again. I asked Gunn on twitter to make suit more like Christopher Reeve's as a modern design. Trunks & yellow S on back of the cape again. Reeve's suit is most iconic from comics to screem & his best stories were that iconic design as he died at the hands of Doomsday in it. This looks a mix of both Reeve's & New 52. Im sure its gonna look better when movie comes out. Its grown on me with new images but i prefer Reeve's S emblem on chest & cape over Routh's and Cavill's. Dont get me wrong latter two's S were great aswell, except Routh's was too small and i didnt care for so many smaller S's like boot heels, and belt buckle. Loved someone's drawing of Cavill & Reeve's costumes combined as a modern version mostly of Reeve's. 😊

The material, lines, baggyness, all say it was created by the GOTG designer. Barely any originality. StarLord and Superman got their suits from Space-Mart. The collar, the undees, the belt, the cheap looking boots are appalling. I'm not a Snyder fan, but the ego and audacity of Gunn to create this suit to follow up the Snyder suits is nothing less than head scratching. I'm let down. Even Mr. Terrific's hairstyle couldn't get an update. Just copy his hairstyle from 1942. Some things need changed or updated to bring to live action in the year 2025. I hope this movie won't be as cheeeeesyýy as it is looking.
Regardless of the "fit" that has everyone in an uproar.... I Love the color and vintage feel this suit gives to the character. I'm not at all worried about it looking baggy from clips taken like this, and I'm sure for filming it'll look perfectly fitted and Badass. Here's the thing.... I'm thinking the older generation of fans like myself, 40yrs old and up... aren't gonna complain with a more "Christopher Reeves style suit" compared to the younger generation that'll surely prefer the Henry Cavill style suit. Maybe not all will agree but I know how I feel about it and I'm still very excited for the movie and can't wait for first trailer. I like that they are trying to do a more true to Reeve's Superman. Still my favorite. I'd be happy as well if they used that style suit. Superman doesn't need padding and "armorish", just fitted and iconic to the original comics that a lot of us love. ❤
The suit has a problem because one of the reasons it's bad is because it has shorts, the belt should be red, not yellow, and the suit appeared to have lighter colors, but the suit should be darker. I also don't like the line patterns of the suit; it should have lines like the New 52 Superman version so that it would be one of the best Superman suits, which is the New 52 Superman.
Love the suit a real homage to Chris Reeve who is probably going to get forgotten with children now so young and this will be they're Superman. Also I have to mention the curly Q is fantastic i get goose bumps lol. Thank you😮

I saw somewhere that these suits come from a company in the movie and are not the hero's own suits. I really hope its true cause although the pictures in this video are the best the suit has looked the overall feel is still off IMO. In the original comics , the skintight suit was based on the idea of wrestlers' costumes, similar to Spider-Man. The bright colours, trunks and the sleek tightness are 100% out of wrestling, which is all about showmanship and distracting you with the character's physical form. In the story canon Supe's powers protect anything close to his skin. That's why his cape is always burning or tearing off, but he very rarely ends up shirtless or with his actual costume shredded. From an aesthetic perspective, he's a "super" man, an ubermensch. He's supposed to be a paragon of everything masculine and mighty (not "toxic masculinity", more the epitome of the physical male form and the ideal of a gentleman/hero). The skintight suit shows that off and makes it clear to everyone, enemy and ally alike, that this guy is something else, something special... something super. It's the same reason James Bond so often appears in Tuxedo's or finely tailored suits - he looks amazing, and we all know, this guy is "IT". The thick baggy, rubbery costume looks more like Kick-ass with his suit made out of a neoprene wetsuit.
I love this version of Superman more than Zacks, its full of hope and joy! Just like the comic book Superman! Henry Cavill was robbed by Zacks Depressing Superman with this Hope core superman!
Supermans 2025 suit is mixed with Superman Kingdom and the 1978 superman, thats what made Supermans Suit a remake of both of the versions. and the release date is set to july 11 2025 (should)

They still have some issues to work out with the suit for sure but it is growing on me and hopefully once we get to see it on the big screen it'll look fantastic
There is also another possiblity. Remember when Superman first apeared his costume was different. The S Symbol was smaller and the overall look of the suit was more "Home Made" looking. When they updated him the S got bigger and the suit started to look more high tech. ...So the Suit in the set photos may be his "Early Suit" and the suit in the promotional shot may be his more modern suit. So suit A my get discared or damaged at some point. This could be James Gunn acknowlging both the Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh look...and the Henry Cavil look..... You just never know.

To me, rather stick to Christopher Reeve version of the costume as more to the original comic look. Further more to me personally there is only one true actor who was the real Superman in real life, and that again was Christopher Reeve RIP.
I think the only criticism I would give the new suit is the turtleneck collar because the truth is it's the best colors for that outfit that we have gotten in decades. It looks okay I mean I kind of wish they had gone with a more classic s symbol on the chest but you know it is what it is nothing's perfect. And yes I am of the camp that thinks Superman needs his trunks. You know a onesie works okay for Batman it doesn't look bad at all particularly if they make it all black but for Superman we need that break right there in the middle because a onesie on Superman just doesn't look right. I actually hated cavill's costume.
I certainly like this suit infinitely more than the Henry Cavill suit. That said, I'm not a big fan of making Superman's suit more intricate or busy than it was in the original comics. I see no need for fancy texturing, or weird lines and seams stitched into the costume. As far as I'm concerned, the simpler the better. The cape looks very nice, and I have no issue with the collar or the s shield design. Very glad to see the trunks are back, and pleased they didn't go tiny speedo style like the Routh costume. Also happy with the colour palette, Supes needs those bright primary colours.
This suit is so much crappier than the quality that is Henry Cavill Its baggy, looks cheap, they added trunks, unnecessary lining, the symbol sucks, and more It looks like a CW suit The only things this suit has going for it are the colors and the cape

I personally have never seen the point of trunks/underwear on any suit. Not in the old/original designs and comics, not now. That being said, i just hope the story is compelling.

The best explanation I can give for the trunks is that you should think of the whole costume like a traditional Kryptonian clothing

yep.. another 'stick him in armor' and that'll make him look 'cooler'. I'm so tired of this approach .. It works for a lot of characters, like Batman or say Captain America ... But Superman is an alien .. he deserves something more elegant, lyrical. Why the hell is he wearing motorcycle gear? It's STUPID looking .. especially painted up in those hard primary colors. It doesn't work. One or the other guys.. trying to smash em' both together is such a bad idea. This suit is an absolute mess.

Looks a bit like bike leathers. The colour is great. If they'd have gone with a suit design similar to Rouths, but with these colours, it would have been perfect.

I tried telling people from very beginning that first image wouldnt be official suit we'll see him in and Superman's suit in first image was burnt stained, after a battle presumably. Gunn gave a poll about whether or not to include the trunks and more people voted on including trunks again. I asked Gunn on twitter to make suit more like Christopher Reeve's as a modern design. Trunks & yellow S on back of the cape again. Reeve's suit is most iconic from comics to screem & his best stories were that iconic design as he died at the hands of Doomsday in it. This looks a mix of both Reeve's & New 52. Im sure its gonna look better when movie comes out. Its grown on me with new images but i prefer Reeve's S emblem on chest & cape over Routh's and Cavill's. Dont get me wrong latter two's S were great aswell, except Routh's was too small and i didnt care for so many smaller S's like boot heels, and belt buckle. Loved someone's drawing of Cavill & Reeve's costumes combined as a modern version mostly of Reeve's. 😊
I think the new S barely even looks like an S I can't help but be reminded of the Ghostbusters symbol when I see it, also the belt looks like one from a child's Halloween costume it's quite stupid looking, the colour is good but the Suit is far too Baggy, it needs to be tighter

Personally I feel that suit looks like a wrinkled up pajamas. Maybe it's just me but I'm not too crazy about all those stupid lines all over the suit. 🤦♂️

The suit is growing on me as I get used to the fact that we're rebooting Superman AGAIN. But this to me, feels like What If.... Superman Joined the MCU?...
I dont like the collar. The red cape should be the end of the upper part of the suit but it just looks weird having the extra blue collar too high up the neck.

The material, lines, baggyness, all say it was created by the GOTG designer. Barely any originality. StarLord and Superman got their suits from Space-Mart. The collar, the undees, the belt, the cheap looking boots are appalling. I'm not a Snyder fan, but the ego and audacity of Gunn to create this suit to follow up the Snyder suits is nothing less than head scratching. I'm let down. Even Mr. Terrific's hairstyle couldn't get an update. Just copy his hairstyle from 1942. Some things need changed or updated to bring to live action in the year 2025. I hope this movie won't be as cheeeeesyýy as it is looking.

I get it, this suit was made by Martha and Cavill's suit was Kryptonian.
Regardless of the "fit" that has everyone in an uproar.... I Love the color and vintage feel this suit gives to the character.
I'm not at all worried about it looking baggy from clips taken like this, and I'm sure for filming it'll look perfectly fitted and Badass.
Here's the thing.... I'm thinking the older generation of fans like myself, 40yrs old and up... aren't gonna complain with a more "Christopher Reeves style suit" compared to the younger generation that'll surely prefer the Henry Cavill style suit.
Maybe not all will agree but I know how I feel about it and I'm still very excited for the movie and can't wait for first trailer.
I believe after that..... a lot of the negative comments or worries will die down. 🤔

I like that they are trying to do a more true to Reeve's Superman. Still my favorite. I'd be happy as well if they used that style suit. Superman doesn't need padding and "armorish", just fitted and iconic to the original comics that a lot of us love. ❤
The suit has a problem because one of the reasons it's bad is because it has shorts, the belt should be red, not yellow, and the suit appeared to have lighter colors, but the suit should be darker. I also don't like the line patterns of the suit; it should have lines like the New 52 Superman version so that it would be one of the best Superman suits, which is the New 52 Superman.
Looking very good. I'm really happy to see Mr. Terrific having a role in this film. One of my personal favorite DC characters.
Love the suit a real homage to Chris Reeve who is probably going to get forgotten with children now so young and this will be they're Superman. Also I have to mention the curly Q is fantastic i get goose bumps lol.

I saw somewhere that these suits come from a company in the movie and are not the hero's own suits. I really hope its true cause although the pictures in this video are the best the suit has looked the overall feel is still off IMO. The suit looks more like a fan made knock off than an actual superman suit.

No the trunks look so stupid and goofy! Freaking stuck in this 70s nostalgia block! Come on, most people under 30 aren’t resonating with this at all because Cavill was their Superman and they related and it was snatched away! Most of the people that want the trunks are over 50 and just can’t see it any other way!

In the original comics , the skintight suit was based on the idea of wrestlers' costumes, similar to Spider-Man. The bright colours, trunks and the sleek tightness are 100% out of wrestling, which is all about showmanship and distracting you with the character's physical form.
In the story canon Supe's powers protect anything close to his skin. That's why his cape is always burning or tearing off, but he very rarely ends up shirtless or with his actual costume shredded.
From an aesthetic perspective, he's a "super" man, an ubermensch. He's supposed to be a paragon of everything masculine and mighty (not "toxic masculinity", more the epitome of the physical male form and the ideal of a gentleman/hero). The skintight suit shows that off and makes it clear to everyone, enemy and ally alike, that this guy is something else, something special... something super. It's the same reason James Bond so often appears in Tuxedo's or finely tailored suits - he looks amazing, and we all know, this guy is "IT".
The thick baggy, rubbery costume looks more like Kick-ass with his suit made out of a neoprene wetsuit.
I love this version of Superman more than Zacks, its full of hope and joy! Just like the comic book Superman! Henry Cavill was robbed by Zacks Depressing Superman with this Hope core superman!
Supermans 2025 suit is mixed with Superman Kingdom and the 1978 superman, thats what made Supermans Suit a remake of both of the versions. and the release date is set to july 11 2025 (should)

Ok,this suit is a bit bunched,it looks to loose,it doesn't show off Supes physical prowess,wich is what we as a fan base and public are used to seeing in the comics and film's,with the looser look,why even get David Corenswet to bulk and workout, for the role, otherwise,love the New 52 style suit,the iconic symbol on the back of the Cape is a throwback to Christopher Reeves version and i love it
The red pants that Brandon Routh had on in one photo looked so much better than these baggy ones - the whole suit still looks far too baggy.
They still have some issues to work out with the suit for sure but it is growing on me and hopefully once we get to see it on the big screen it'll look fantastic
My guess is that the darker suit in which Superman is putting on his boots is probably part of the closing scene of the Superman Legacy movie.
There is also another possiblity. Remember when Superman first apeared his costume was different. The S Symbol was smaller and the overall look of the suit was more "Home Made" looking. When they updated him the S got bigger and the suit started to look more high tech.
...So the Suit in the set photos may be his "Early Suit" and the suit in the promotional shot may be his more modern suit. So suit A my get discared or damaged at some point. This could be James Gunn acknowlging both the Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh look...and the Henry Cavil look..... You just never know.

To me, rather stick to Christopher Reeve version of the costume as more to the original comic look. Further more to me personally there is only one true actor who was the real Superman in real life, and that again was Christopher Reeve RIP.
I think the only criticism I would give the new suit is the turtleneck collar because the truth is it's the best colors for that outfit that we have gotten in decades. It looks okay I mean I kind of wish they had gone with a more classic s symbol on the chest but you know it is what it is nothing's perfect. And yes I am of the camp that thinks Superman needs his trunks. You know a onesie works okay for Batman it doesn't look bad at all particularly if they make it all black but for Superman we need that break right there in the middle because a onesie on Superman just doesn't look right. I actually hated cavill's costume.
Let's remember this is a younger Superman. As the DCU goes on he might get updated suits especially by Kingdom Come.

I certainly like this suit infinitely more than the Henry Cavill suit. That said, I'm not a big fan of making Superman's suit more intricate or busy than it was in the original comics. I see no need for fancy texturing, or weird lines and seams stitched into the costume. As far as I'm concerned, the simpler the better. The cape looks very nice, and I have no issue with the collar or the s shield design. Very glad to see the trunks are back, and pleased they didn't go tiny speedo style like the Routh costume. Also happy with the colour palette, Supes needs those bright primary colours.
