Chapters:
0:00 Introduction
0:22 How was Anterior Scoliosis Correction conceived?
0:33 Demand for non-fusion correction in adults.
1:02 Mature patients require greater correction.
1:59 ASC addresses stiff curves.
2:26 Disc Release technique.

This interview is great. Highly appreciated.
Glad you found it useful!
@@DerekLee I would like to ask something I didn't understand from the interviews. If a disc release is performed and the nucleus is removed what is cushioning the vertebral joint at that point? I forget who but someone seemed to imply that the disc reforms? Or is it replaced? Thanks again. Fascinating stuff.
@@keineangstable you've been doing some homework. Disc release is controversial and a broad term. Some surgeons remove the nucleus while others don't.
AAHH I need this done . 53 and cant stand up anymore ,, i only have a 35 degree s curve , pain is bad.
So I have a question regarding how you find your information and resources such as the studies and published research. Is it a website? Or a medical journal “subscription”? Are you willing to share some website links or suggest a place to start? I’d love to do more research on my own for my daughter’s scoliosis- but I don’t want to just “google”.
I truly thank you for all your videos you have done. I have been watching and learning lots!
~God bless~
Great question! Where do you start right?
I started with pubmed searches but found that there was lack of consensus even between papers.
I then visited non-fusion FB groups which gave me an idea of the top surgeons performing non-fusion scoliosis surgery.
I then dove into the research coming from the top surgeons and setup feeds for non-fusion research so I can be alerted to new research.

@@DerekLee Awesome. Thanks for your reply! Truly appreciate it.
Can you point me to any of your videos with doctors who dont agree or have criticism for ASC?

very interesting. what is the method of doing xrays now? is it with the eos machine or regular xrays for scoliosis series?
The EOS offers much less x-ray dosing than traditional x-ray methods. Additionally, EOS is able to view the full spine completely while with traditional x-rays, they have to take separate x-rays of different sections of the spine and piece them together to see the full spine.
@@DerekLee What does EOS stand for?
@@patriciadiaz7255 it's a type of low dose x-ray machine that can take a full spine x-ray in one shot.
@@DerekLee Thank-you. Is this available at Sick Kids Toronto?
Yes SKs has one.
I’m an adult with idiopathic scoliosis. I suffer from an s-curve of about 51 degrees.
Am I a candidate for ACS non-fusion surgery?
Just reach out to ASC surgeons and ask for their opinion on your case. Many will do virtual consults too. :)
Mr. Lee can you communicate with me privately I have a situation that is an unfortunate for my son. Perhaps you can help me with information.
Thank you.

What is the price of the surgery
It varies quite a bit among surgeons and countries. Consider reaching out directly to the surgeons for their specific fees.
