    It's amazing what you can do with any plain garment, adding a bit of sparkle really makes it beautiful & unique.

    I absolutely love stoning my own dresses. What I prefer to use is the E6000 with the tips. With the craft syringes, I find that they get very gummed up very quickly, which makes it very difficult for me to work with. With using the glue with the tips, I can avoid that step.
    Also, if one can't afford the Swavorski crystals, Czech Precosia makes a very good alternative. The Czech crystals may have just ever so slightly less sparkly, as their crystals have a few less facets than the Swavroskis, but it really isn't that noticable.

    Never thought I”d come back to see this video, but here I am…
    Today, coach mentioned the date for my very first comp. Therefore, I need to source an outfit for myself. Problem is, we have no idea where to go since I’m such a rare breed… I was thinking, since my program has a soccer theme, that I was gonna wear a soccer jersey. But after seeing those sparkly dresses the other day, I wanna get my jersey to shine! So yeah, I’m gonna get some stones and put them on the jersey…

    This looks great! I am getting ready to stone my own dress, and I am just struggling with guessing how many stones I'll need - about how many stones/gross did you use for this dress?

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much. I put about 5.5gross on on this one.
      1 gross Meridian Blue
      2 gross blue shade
      2 gross crystal
      .5 gross larger blue shade

    Very pretty! I stone my own dresses as well. Have you tried using the E6000 that comes with the syringe tips? I have found those to be very helpful, and eliminates the need for a craft syringe. I also like to mark out where I will be putting the stones, or even draw out the designs with a sewing/craft pencil before putting the stones on. I've even used stencils as well (Micheal's has some really nice ones) for designs as well, as I'm TERRIBLE with eyeballing stuff sometimes.

    I am just learning how to skate and I watched your video on how to skate but I was wondering if you have any tips because when I skate I have a really hard time turning.

      Are you meaning turning from forwards to backwards, or turning as you go around the ends of the rink? If you mean around the ends of the rink then I would suggest you watch my tutorial on how to do forward crossovers. If you mean from forwards to backwards- my Mohawk tutorial should help with that.

    So beautiful! Which are the exact stones you used for the 20ss Crystal Swarovski?

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I thought it came out beautifully. Those 20ss stones were 'Blue Shade' swarovskis, I order from Rhinestones unlimited. bit.ly/2P6goib

    I'd like to ask how to wash a figure skating dress with airbrushed designs and stones on it. I can't find anything on the web that discusses about this 😭

    • @janetslater129
      @janetslater129 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would probably do a VERY gentle handwash of the dress in cold water some very mild detergent, or spray the dress with the cheapest bottom shelf vodka that you can find, and spray that on the dress.
