The area of 1250 km2 temporarily "occupied" by Ukraine is roughly 0,007% of the whole of Russia. If by "occupied" is meant to govern it for some years ensuring the safety and prosperity of all inhabitants, then Ukraine occupies nothing. On the contrary, Russia is said to occupy at least 20% of what used to be Ukraine. That amounts to almost 300 times the "success rate" of Ukraine/NATO. That incursion is totally meaningless, although they did manage to capture the Lying Press's attention for a few hours. Another few weeks and they'll all be gone - most of them underground. What makes it even more laughable is if Russia would start to march on civilian towns in the Western parts of Ukraine and then claim "military" victory.

The problem with NATO's tactics and strategies are that after the cold war ended and they moved in the late 90s and 2000s, they stopped planning and preparing for a long major war. They instead focused on dealing one huge massive decapitating strike that will break the enemy in one move and knock them out the war. It did work when against low tier foes and third rate foes like Iraq or Taliban. But against someone as well armed, huge and experienced as Russia is or even China such an attack will faulter out and be much limited like the carbon copy version we saw happen in Kursk. NATO then focused on smaller scale wars mostly against insurgents, which also limited their massive scale war ability and planning. NATO overtime lost it's old cold war planning ability and had to relearn and still is the the idea and planning of a major scale conflict. Thing is though NATO Nations won't put the manpower or resources into building militaries capable of such scale warfare. Or accept the reality that such a war will be a war of attrition with heavy losses over years.

Observers claim that spirits are unexpectedly high among servicemen. It may actually be true. Imagine you have a choice between a Russian glide-bomb and returning home to your mother-in-law... Your comments about higher education are spot on. I'll never forget how, during the introduction weeks at the university, some professor was writing on a blackboard how cociety looks like according to him. He placed non-academical people all the way on the bottom, a little above that students, then a big gap, then MSc, then PHD, and so on. I dropped out of university within a year. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life. I think I now have a better job and I'm much happier than I would have been if I would have an academic degree.

The problem with NATO's tactics and strategies are that after the cold war ended and they moved in the late 90s and 2000s, they stopped planning and preparing for a long major war. They instead focused on dealing one huge massive decapitating strike that will break the enemy in one move and knock them out the war. It did work when against low tier foes and third rate foes like Iraq or Taliban.
But against someone as well armed, huge and experienced as Russia is or even China such an attack will faulter out and be much limited like the carbon copy version we saw happen in Kursk.
NATO then focused on smaller scale wars mostly against insurgents, which also limited their massive scale war ability and planning. NATO overtime lost it's old cold war planning ability and had to relearn and still is the the idea and planning of a major scale conflict. Thing is though NATO Nations won't put the manpower or resources into building militaries capable of such scale warfare. Or accept the reality that such a war will be a war of attrition with heavy losses over years.

Observers claim that spirits are unexpectedly high among servicemen. It may actually be true. Imagine you have a choice between a Russian glide-bomb and returning home to your mother-in-law... Depending on the latter, being on the Kursk frontline could definitely justify high spirits. That's the Ukrainian version of being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Your comments about higher education are spot on. I'll never forget how, during the introduction weeks at the university, some professor was writing on a blackboard how cociety looks like according to him.
He placed non-academical people all the way on the bottom, a little above that students, then a big gap, then MSc, then PHD, and so on.
I dropped out of university within a year. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life. I think I now have a better job and I'm much happier than I would have been if I would have an academic degree.

A question from the stupid people. How did Ukraine, and combined NATO forces and equipment fail to take the Kursk NPP n the first two days?
Because Russia apparently was defended only by "inexperienced soldiers cobbled together" according to this article. I am sarcastic of course :) Have a great evening.
Russia doesn't need troops. They have satellites, missiles, drones, and experience to make sure Ukraine and NATO can't get near it. Ukraine and NATO are too stup!d anyway. They have no supply lines. They have no plans. They will either run out of food, water, or ammo before anything happens.
What i dont understand here in Netherland we only hear how much zelenski took and how much Russia he destroyed . But we hear almost nothing about Russia it looks like ukraine alsmost about 5 km from moscow. We hear on and on how much ukraine destroy russian army and how much soldiers they killed and how big territory they catch. But when i watch other channels they say exact opposite . When Russia does kick Ukraine out of Kursk, I do wonder will they stop at the border or will they then use Kursk and all the troops and logistics deployed there to follow the Ukrainian forces over the border?
It depends on the plans of the Russians. I suspect the Russians would prefer to go south for Odessa, once Donbas is secured.

6:00 they've been trying to do this for the long time. Even at the beginning of war Ukraine launched recon missiles of Soviet origin towards Eastern European NATO countries. Those missiles would get shot down moment after entering NATO airspace, they knew what Ukraine was trying to do. And no one would ever know that this even happened. Until one of these missiles landed in urban area in Croatia. You can find this on the internet.
