Follow the money. If someone wants to inject chaos into any social system, Marxist methods have a proven track record.

The left would argue that you need some sort of centralized power so that people are appropriately cared for. I am center right and have a hard time arguing against this. The government doesn't care about the people in East Palestine. They don't care about the people in Lahaina. They don't care about hundreds of thousands of opioid deaths. They don't care about veterans living on the street.
But imagine if hundreds of millions of individual citizens had access to the wealth that's been extracted from them under the guise of the public good. How do you think that wealth would be allocated?
Some wealthy people spend all their money on themselves. Other wealthy people build hospitals, fund research, donate to charities, buy social media platforms with the goal of protecting the first amendment...
If you had a few extra thousand dollars in your pocket would you give some of that money to people in need or to a cause you believe in? Don't you think you could do a better job helping your fellow citizens than the government is doing?

The things Elon is saying are similar to the reasons why former President Trump stated several years ago that was why he would run for president in 2015. Musk’s claim about the values of the left being in favor of the environment, a positive future for humanity, empathy for fellow human beings, being kind & not cruel, are not exclusive to the left. The left has a particular attitude towards these ideals, but the right has their own attitudes applied to these values as well. The left applies social justice to these ideals while the right, especially the more conservative Christian populace, tends to attribute these to God’s law. A true Christian and conservatives are by far, more charitable, forgiving, empathetic, merciful, and conscientious about their surroundings. The farther left one is, the more we see the mind virus of agnostic activism based on secular humanist principles and authoritarianism.

The Right has those values that Musk lists. The difference between the Right and the left is that the left wants to coerce people into things that can truly only be freely given. You can't force someone to care about something like the environment, for example, but you can use force to make them comply with your views on the matter. And that's what it comes down to. The Right believes in the sanctity of the individual and the left believes in controlling the individual to attain it's goals. This is why the Right promotes meritocracy and the left pushes equity.
Here in the UK the Right have traditionally promoted the status quo of hereditary privilege and not meritocracy.

Finally, people starting to realize it. The thing is, I was terrified when I saw how similar woke people are, to those insane old communists i used to live with (and was so scared of) 30 years ago. Capitalism is in place and going strong. Why would anyone rebrand it. Sure there are attempts to attach some colorful stripes like green or social, but the base is unchanged. Capitalism helped billions out of poverty, Communism killed 100-200mio people. That's why the latter is not too popular.
What does the prefix Eco add to it?? It sounds a bit like Cis. Meaningless and actually worse than. Simplicity and truth is what's required. Perhaps I could be persuaded by the term "Philanthropic Meritocracy". A balance between capability and responsibility. I think Musk is pretty close to embodying that.

The only reason why most people stuck to one political party was, because the choices were generally working on the same agenda. However, most peoples' personal politics aren't so neatly wrapped up and tied off with a bow.
Two people with very grass roots values, might consistently vote based on conservative policies; but the one with some involvement in an enterprise venture, will certainly adopt some liberal policies. - because regardless of the party, its inescapable for someone in business.
Where I tend to double-take, is when policy lines get blurred in the deep text. - then I'm taking points off that party. If the wrong policies get implimented, then its that much easier for the worst legislation to result. - usually means someones up to something complex, or they'd keep it simple, and unmistakable.

Ever meet someone you knew casually who would in conversations who would start rumors or tell lies about people? They pass on information they knew was sketchy or false that people react to and pass on as though it is truth like memes. People are repeaters of information they copy others soon what was once a made up story becomes a kind of truth. Unless you are paying attention and challenge the information even then that type of person will make it a challenge and do it even more.

The problem is that the woke cannot distinguish between meritocracy and survival of the fittest. To them, both is fascism. Since glorifying the survival of the fittest is what genuine fascists have always liked to do. Except fascists usually define one group as “the strongest” a priori, and then seek to support that group - rather than letting the whole thing play out without artificial interference, like a Darwinist would do. Wokeness is inverted fascism: It defines a priori who counts as *weak* - then seeks to only support those groups, even in those areas where others are actually the disadvantaged ones.
This is a logical falacy. Wokeness is not a politicial ideology but an awareness of your fellow humans experience and how your behavior contributes to that. Basic empathy and good manners. Also, these are not the only options. You can be a woke republic or a woke dictatorship (arguably misguided), or an unwoke socialist democracy (think old Soviet Union)...the list goes on
Perhaps that is what "woke" started out being.... but that's not what it is today. Wokesters of today have NO empathy for anyone who disagrees with them... they demonstrate NO manners toward those who disagree with them.
