I have never shed tears watching the Lawrence O'Donnell show until now. He's right, that is the definition of a hero.
Lawrence has moved me to tears several times, but today he's turned me into a blubbering mess of tears.
I already loved Dr. Fauci, but Mr. O'Donnell has given me a better understanding of what a rare, wonderful, compassionate man Dr. Fauci is.

I’m an ancient nurse and NP. Early in the HIV outbreak I remember a young, handsome gentleman teaching us how to protect ourselves from body fluids. I remember the Ebola patients, the swine flu patients, and later the dying Covid patients. This man is a hero and idiots like green, and others don’t deserve to utter his name. This man and his dedicated team has saved more millions than we can count. There will always be haters, even Mother Theresa has them. NO PERSON IN MY LIFETIME HAS SAVE MORE HUMANITY THE THIS GIANT IN MEDICINE. Thank goodness for the gift of the physician

There’s a quote in Gaelic about intrepid fisherman in the Westland that applies to Dr Fauci. “The likes of him will not be seen again.” It’s hard to find words to describe all of the excellent qualities he embodies. I’d like to thank him and the parents that raised him. Well done, to each.
I’m suffering from long covid to this day. I could not manage without the help of my wonderful and supportive health care team. From Dr. Fauci on down, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the medical professionals who continue to try and help me and others like me. 🙏

As a very young RN, I watched
The AIDS epidemic take the lives of many young men and women too. The virus was in our blood supply. These were good people. I held their hands and prayed for them. I never believed that this was a punishment from God. Our loving father, and His only Son, allow our suffering as a part of our human experience. It teaches us to have compassion, something that is sadly missing in our world today. Dr. Fauci is a compassionate hero.
In the 1970s Richard Feynman gave a commencement speech at CalTech in which he talked about integrity in science. Dr. Fauci could have been a prime example.

My family of 4 as well.
Same here. I live in a small rural mountain community of about 300 people. We are mostly white seniors, retired and living on low fixed income.
Sadly, I'm one of only a few who did not join the trump cult.
In 2020, our community went against mandates and had their annual Christmas party. They took it a step further, and declared it would be a "maskless" event, and anyone who wore a mask would not be welcome.
I didn't go.
Yes, it was a super-spreader event. Most who attended got very sick, eight died, several still have long COVID and their quality of life is horrible now.
I didn't attend the party, and I've avoided my neighbors until about a year ago.
I never caught it, and I'm fully vaxxed (with absolutely NO side effects, except for good health!).
Dr. Fauci is my hero!!

Once this came out on TH-cam I sent to several of my friends because they need to know what it means to be a selfless hero…and a small part of his life’s story. I met him in And the Band Played On, the remarkable Randy Shilts book about the AIDS epidemic, published in 1989. I’ve never forgotten and felt hopeful when I saw him again during Covid.

I had struggled with Larry Kramer's perspective expressed in his plays versus that of a beloved, extremely kind relative mentored by Dr. Fauci, who changed their life.
